Support This Ridiculous Campaign!

Jacob Livingstone is the brainchild behind this so you can heap your praise on him. *coughs* Ahem...

The plan is to get a Spurs related tune in the Top Ten. He estimates that this will take about 10,000 sales. "We've had a look on iTunes and it appears to be pretty much devoid of any explicitly Spurs related songs apart from Tip Top Tottenham, which without being too disrespectful, is tosh, " Jacob told me.

"Therefore we've decided to opt for Barry Manilow's legendary anthem 'Can’t Smile Without You'. It's a song that has often been sung at the Lane and and on away trips i does epitomizing the love we all feel for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club." He continued apace.

"The idea is for everyone to go and download (legally, from iTunes) 'Can't Smile Without You' by Sunday lunchtime." It's the Manilow version, but he wants it bought by Sunday lunchtime. Do keep up.

"It only costs 79p and you may even be able to find free download vouchers online somewhere, so there's no excuse. JUST MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD IT FROM iTUNES OR IT WON'T GET REGISTERED This is something that any fan can do, as it's not too expensive and even the least tech-savvy of us should be able to download a song from iTunes! You might say the plan was foolproof, or even Avram Grant proof!"

So there you have it folks. A once in a lifetime opportunity to only spend 79p and yet Rock Out in the name of Spurs at the same time.

There's an iTunes ad on the top right for you >

nah.
the song's not got a strong enough link to tottenham, and the only one profiting will be that big nosed idiot in the velour jumpsuit.

I don't think I will be downloading the song either, but I may have a use for your mastering service at the studio ;-) Competitive rates for a fellow Spurs fan ?!

Harry, have you been at the Madeira again ? What is the point of this ?

I am with Matt either a Chas and Dave or something new but definitely not a song that has no connection with us.

Stop this manilow Madness now ! We finally earn a bit of respect only to blow it,being associated with song will have em rolling in the stands !! Redo Nice one cyril to a Nice one Woody or something with a bit of relevance to the club .Hows about the Slow "when the spurs go marching in " just like the chorus that went up before our second goal against the goons in the semi (spine chilling stuff ).Mix that up with alternate Deep bass "Yids" chants a toootle from Mc Namaras Band and Tinkle on the 'Joanna from chas and dave . fill it out a bit and Bob's yer Uncle !!

I think H's use of the word ridiculous in the title was a clue....

its a good idea to show our pride in an amazing cup campaign but id much rather see Hi Ho Silver Lining as the selected song, i loved singing that at Wembley and thing we should adopt it as a fully-fledged spurs song.

I'd vote for Hi Ho Silver lining too or even Hi Ho Juande Ramos !

The only connection Manilow's turgid version of the 'orrible 70s ballad has with Spurs is that it used to be one of the songs on a truly dreadful MOR compilation tape played on one of the supporters coaches. They played the bloody thing during the team's lap of honour after the last home game of the season two years back (against Bolton) - to celebrate securing a return to European Football.
Always makes me cringe.
If we must have a bad taste audio moment, I'd rather go with updating Charles' and David's "Victory Song" in light of our scorching of the Ar5sena1.
But I'd really like someone to put out that super-slow version of "Marching In" - if only so everybody realises exactly how slooooooooowly you've got to sing that opening TWICE before speeding. Now that song is a genuine hair raising terrace chant - when got right; but sadly it mostly end up as a dog's dinner.

Was I having a funny dream or did I see in some rag somewhere that our very own chrissy hughton is going to be number 2 at newcastle?

Funny club newcastle!

Funny haha or funny peculiar?

Chris Hughton has joined the barcodes as 'defensive coach' not as KK's No2. Not sure if he's a good appointment or not; did we have a good defensive record when he was with us? mmmmmm.
By the way, I see Jenas and Lennon took Ramos's blessing of partying a bit too literally - both seen coming out of a central London nightclub at 2AM this morning (pics in the London evening papers tonight). Not sure if it's good or bad? What will they be like when we win the Premiership?????
