"Cruised to victory".. now thats teh sort of comments I want to hear more of.... Chances of hetting a Euro place? Bloody slim especially with the other comps on teh go but.. dare we believe?

Just watched it on Sky Sports. I thought Thud and Kaboul were outstanding. Berbatov changed the game, but if you don't let goals in you're half way there. It was only Derby, (sorry Derby) but Kaboul especially I thought was dominant. Well played lads. To win 3-0 when you play crap for an hour is the sign of a good team. Dare we start believing?????

It's fucking hard work when the game isn't 'available' till gawd knows when at night.

All this chat of 'who fancies watching us play a showcase match in New York?' somewhat goes out the window when we can't even watch'em have a kickabout with some no marks up north.

Setanta, Sky and the substandard BBC and yet again another game NOT bothered with... In a word.. RUBBISH.

Let's have some bloody organisation and see all the Prem games live? They have the technology and OUR money. I am bored to pieces being treated as I chose to go live in a fucking IGLOO someplace!

Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

Anonymous said...

So how's Sam tonight? And Tom for that matter?

Anonymous said...

Harry - it was the main match on Sky tonight; about an hours worth of highlights. I don't get your point? Don't rely on MOTD - you must realise that by now. For Spurs to be on first on there and for more than 30 seconds, we have to be playing one of the so called 'big 4'. Never heard you use profanity before ;-)

I swear when it suits! My point was we're getting fed scraps, mate.

If the so called DEMAND for Prem footy is SOOOOO huge that we are faced with games being exported to the far flung portd of the world, why is it that even Derby fans let alone good Yids such as us have to wait at all to see a game? It's easy to say it's the way it is - I say it's a joke!

They want all this mob like Sopcast disbanded, 99% of youtube don't last half an hour before someone ASSERTS their copyright.

All I'm saying is givreus want we want!

Am I greedy? Yes I am!

Costs 30 quid a month here(Thailand)for UBC sat tv. Every prem game with english commentary. Paradise.

Couldn't agree more. I am living/working in the Maldives and I get better premiership coverage than when I was back in the UK.

Whole thing is a total farce and just about making more money. It will never bring more money back into the game, it will just go straight to the people on high who buy and own football clubs as if they were tamagotchis.

Pity about the first 60 mins of the game, but really shows how much our fitness has improved in the last 30. Good performances all over the park!

If you dont wanna wait to see the games at night...why not watch them live!!! I have seen 99% of the spurs games this season through the website below...

Listen. If I lived in The Maldives, the last thing I'd be worrying about is where I can watch football of any description! All them beaches, sun, women, cocktails, tranquility; you can stuff your winter Saturday afternoons ;-) (maybe).

The reason for all the games not being shown live is that the clubs believe it would effect attendances -- and with the amount of flak they're taking over (ridiculous) ticket prices at present, it's a fairly valid point.

And as someone said, if you want to watch it that badly there are more than enough ways to do that.

As much as I think Kaboul has potential I also worry every time he gets the ball. He turns into Rio Ferdinard and goes wandering. His finishing though is top notch.

Time to remove the cotton wool from Ledley with Dawson out now.

KPB. Someone on here called him Ghaly v2. I can honestly say that this lad is worse. Can't pass, can't tackle, can't score. Awful.

Well i for one says Dannyboy thinks
usless Robinson is a great keeper
therefore i for one says Dannyboy
is a prize plonker.

Maybe they're keeping Deadknee King fit for the final? Maybe They're gonna keep him in a cotton wool nest and bring him out for all our big games. Ok both our big games.

That would be a sad end.

The Maldives isnt all that it is cracked up to be:

Beaches: sand is too soft and most beaches arent big enough to have a decent kick around with the lads.

Sun: is often too hot to play football and within in about 30 seconds you are sweating like a paedophile in a playground

Women: all newly-wed (still love the challenge though) or shacked up with some heavily overweight russian who uses $100 bills to blow his nose.

Tranquility: minimal, moaning newly weds and screaming russian hookers ruin the peaceful serenity of a picturesque island.

Premiership football coverage: Excellent, thats why I am out here : )

dannyboy - sorry you guys didn't get to see the whole game. The second half was absolutely brilliant from the second Berbatov hit the pitch.

While I was pleased with JJ's effort against the Arse, the Derby match was by far the best of his career and now I'm really eating crow. He was everywhere, covering on defence, clearing several of Derby's crosses, exploding up the pitch with the ball, delivering perfect passes on the full run, and run after run off the ball that blew open holes in Derby's defence.

Cerny, Kaboul and Steed also had massive games. Lennon and Boateng were dreadful, the latter looking completely incapable of dealing with the pace of the EPL. If Robbo played, we would have been down 3-0 at halftime. Derby was dribbling around Huddlestone at will, but Cerny came to the rescue with some incredible saves. Why is Tommy starting at CD ahead of Kaboul or Boateng ahead of O'Hara?

Harry Hotspur said...

Daytripper, thanks for a great little review there..

Boateng appears to be going backwards.

I'll be a positive fan and say I'm pleased Jenas had another good game - but add we need him to be this hot against the likes of the Chavs, not just Championship bound Derby.

Anonymous said...

Kaboul. He can finish like Lineker. He can defend like Lineker.

Cant work out if that is brilliant or toss.

Truly A proper Spurs player.

Jenas. Give the boy a chant. Has been our best player so far this year. My new best mate.

Ledley. Lift the cup. Bow out.

Kevvy P. Not the sport for you my son. You do nothing well. And plenty bad.

Cerny. The shirt is yours. Congrats.

The point was kind of hammered home on saturday afternoon when the talkslop commentator referred to Tottenham as the "Harlem Globetrotters" and said they were taking the mick -now that i loved :)

What's that you say? Jenas had another good game? ;-)

Harry Hotspur,
what kind of stupid name is that,
probably a cretin working on his
so called site in a darkened room.
Both he and his love match the
ridiculous Danny Boy should get a
life.

Anonymous said...

So far the only real thing I have issue with Ramos on is his favouring of Boateng.

If we feel we need to play a more defensive player, rather than an O'hara say, surely Tainio has to get the nod? All Boateng does is run round losing the ball and giving stupid free kicks away, often in really dangerous positions!

Hopefully he will improve but if Ramos is making Kaboul 5th choice CD at the moment because of his current performances then by the same rationale Boateng should be nowhere near the team at present!

Anonymous said...

I guess the most critical fans are your own.

From the outside we'd all say that Gerrard is world class and delivers every week but according to their own fans that's far from the case and thinking of it i can't remember the last time i heard of him putting in one of his barnstorming performances.

It is against these expectations however that we judge our own players and particularly it seems Jenas. Talking to fans of other clubs they think Jenas is on fire and well worth his England place last week, wheras a lot of our fans obvisouly don't!

Before anyone jumps down my throat I'm not comparing Jenas to Gerrard just saying there is a misconception about the performances top rated players like him actually put in every week.

I do feel that Jenas needs the love and the fact that he's never had a song when everyone else does is shocking...he must wonder what he has to do to get our support!

Anonymous said...

"Jenas had another good game?"

Against possibly the worst team to set foot in the top flight. That's his level.

It's Them and Us said...

The problem most have with Jenas is the lack of consistancy. One game he'll be absolutely fantastic (usually against a much lesser side) and the next anonymous. But under Ramos I can't really remember a game that he went missing, really. I can recall games where he wasn't great, but certainly not anonymous. His work ethic was improved (it was generally very good anyway) and his surging runs (and goals) make you hope that he isn't 'rested' and we have to rely on "one run" Zokora.

He was immense in both games about Arsenal in the Cup, as well as the last game against them in the league. He was solid against United in the FA Cup and breached 'the best defence in the Premiership' twice but was let down by poor finishing (he's usually alright one-on-one). He, along with Huddlestone kept Hargreaves and Scholes quiet when we played United at our place and was relentless in closing down and getting our attacks going.

I just sort of accept that some people will NEVER like Jenas even if he scored a hat-trick in the League Cup final and scored the winner in the UEFA Cup final. He does deserve a song though.

As for why Tainio isn't playing.. I can only hope it's due to injury. The lad was impressive alongside Jenas but after the rumoured switch to Brum fell-through he's yet to be seen. Injured or resigned to being on his way? I've always liked the guy for his tenaciously and obvious love of Tottenham Hotspur. But he wasn't anywhere near Ramos' first squad and is generally only used when injuries are a major problem.

He'll probably return for the UEFA Cup.

If Jenas is losing sleep over not having his own song, I worry for him.

Come on it's not about worrying about not having a nice little song for you but that no-one ever even calls out his name. I'm sorry but if all your teammates get vocal support and you dont, you're not exactly going to feel great about it...

On the game...

This was a game of 2substitutions...Berba and O'hara for Bent and Boeteng.

While the latter 2 guys were on, creativity of anything was at a minimum, apart from when Kaboul took the ball of Keane's toes which was frustrating, however Kaboul went on to have a solid game and scored a peach.

Once Berba and O'Hara were on we lost that predictability with Berba doing his usual linking magic, dropping back to pick the ball up and play his deft touches.

O'Hara is so confident and made the ball glide around midfield like a little playmaker, made a big difference from Boeteng's impression of a headless chicken.

An additional top draw creative player would put the icing on the cake in the summer, althoughmay be difficult to get any top players without European footie next year...lets pray we beat the Chelsk in the Carling as Citeh beating Utd yesterday did us no favours in reaching top 7 in the league.
