Here's some good stuff for you.
Has anyone you know passed comment over AL's boots of late? The smashing, orangey jobs?
You is, my fine feathered friends, looking at the Nike Mercurial Vapor 4 and at only 230 gms Nike are describing them as the weapon of choice for some of the fastest players in the world...
The Mercurial Speed Test.
Nike decided to create a test to find out just how fast the fastest players in the Premiership really are. Working with some top coaches they set up a challenge to test who was the fastest to the ball and who was the fastest with the ball. This way Nike wanted to get a better test of a player’s real ‘football speed’ rather than a simple sprinting contest.
Here's some footage of our boy Aaron taking a time trial against both the clock and some bloke called Agbonlahor...

The results should prove interesting, not just settling the debate on which player is fastest - as it’s the first time they've been timed and compared like this - but also giving us an insight into their speed and technique. AL's technique has a double tap on the ball. He's generally more scampery.
Gabby is a bit closer control but is more upright and doesn't lean into corners so much. And as you can see by the mud kicking up, it had been a wet day at the pitch when they took the test, which slowed both players down from what's probably their optimum time.
What nationality is Aaaron Lennon? A) English B) Welsh C) Scottish.
Needless to say these are brand new, boxfresh boots from NIKE and not an old pair of Aaron's sweaty offcasts. So simply email your answer to me, not forgetting to state your required size at firstname.lastname@example.org. The winner will be picked at random and the boots dispatched only minutes before I'm deafened by cries of 'scam', 'fix' and 'let's get him'. Good luck!
