Hutton Done & Dusted So Let's Welcome Him!

I am reliably informed that the man is signed. Money? Unconfirmed as I am NOT the official site, no really, I'm not but.... about £8 mill.

I freely admit that my initial blogs on the whole fiasco weren't entirely flattering. I wasn't alone, with Al (my new mate) being largely portraited as a either a Sweaty on the make or a semi unemployable Sweaty who was being manipulated by deceitful employers. Whilst I wasn't the only Hutton sceptic on the block, I would urge us all to back the man. Who knows, we may live not to regret it.

There was an issue of his missus being 'with child' and clearly there was more in this than was initially thought.

Alan Hutton and Woodgate for THE FINAL.

when I see him in the shirt Ill believe he has signed, too often players have 'signed' only to turn up at another club ie Duff at Newcastle. Fingers crossed tho!

Anonymous said...

how reliably Mr Hotspur?

He would be a great addition but this seems to have dragged on for too long. How many visits does a player need to London?

Anonymous said...

It almost feels like were dragging him kicking and screaming to our club and i can't say i like it! that said there could be a 1000 reasons its taken so long so willing to give him a chance(if he signs) will need to put in some whole hearted passionate performances though to totally win me over, any news on the Brazilian harry?

Inter After Aaron Lennon

Inter are reportedly interested in making a move for Tottenham Hotspur’s midfield prodigy Aaron Lennon according to the latest reports from Italy.

zoom - galleria It has been suggested that the Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti wants the England international to arrive at the San Siro straight away.

It seems as if Moratti is keeping an eye on Lennon as a potential replacement for Luis Figo when he ends his career with the side from Milan.

Italian reports suggest that the club are sending officials to London within the next few hours to try and strike up a deal with the North London club. It seems as if Inter are offering Tottenham a choice regarding a proposed move.

It is believed Inter will try to land the player in one of the following two ways. Reports suggest they will either take the player on loan with an option to buy him outright or they will try and strike a deal which will allow the club to buy the player at the next round of transfers in the summer.

It is believed that Inter may even offer Adriano to Spurs in an attempt to secure Lennon’s signature. Tottenham were interested in the Brazilian in the summer but the move faded away.

Reports in England have recently suggested Spurs may sell Dimitar Berbatov so the Adriano option might appeal to them.

Richard Gough signing for us was a 'favour' to Rangers. He couldn't sign directly for them from Dundee and was always only going to be with us for 1 season.

As for Hutton, he ummed and ahhed but if he has signed let's welcome him with open arms and give the boy a chance. Ramos aint gonna pay £8 million on a defender if he didn't think he's worth it. (As he's played Champions League for Rangers, won't that make him illegible in the UEFA cup for us?)

And I suggest the anonymous poster saying Scum are gonna nick him is some Goon in disguise, probably wrighty6+1.

RE: 11.21 & Ambulance Chasing F*ckwit and Oaf

Blimey, ask a civil question and you get your knickers all in a twist. In short Harry it would have been far easier just to have said that an offer was made - enough said.

For the record, I am in no way connected to the legal community and so refute your comment about being an "ambulance chaser". I work in Engineering and am neither stupid nor clumsy, that said I do not agree with your "Oaf" statement either.

However....(coughs to clear throat)... its 8.30 and the Hutton deal is still not finalised contrary to your blog title, so it would appear that you are not so worried about the minor details either? Think we should all just stick to Sky Sports News in future....

bueller said...

Grazza,

What did they say about Gilzean on TalkNonsense?

GRAZZA said...

they said they he had fallen on hard times and that no one knew where he was.

Then some spurs supporters trust bloke from Kings Lynn phoned in and said he was living in hiding in the west country and that he had been trying to organise a benefit dinner for him for the last couple of years and that Gilzean wasnt interested. Apparently everytime he is "discovered" he moves on, so hes more or less a hermit (bad word to describe a legend)

Brazil said leave your details and he'll get some former players involved to try and turn it around. All very sad!!

When you think about some of the disloyal and/or crap players that have have worn a white shirt and chug about in a bentley or similar it tugs on the strings!

Anonymous said...

Easy boys. For those of you that despise HH, why come on his blog, read all the comments and then make a nasty remark? Surely your insecurities could be best unleashed on an Arsenal blog?

On a footballing note: Glad to see woody here, hopefully will provide a bit of stability and help Dawson during the mid-week games when Ledley is visiting the Osteoathritis centre.

Good news that Hutton is still a possibility. I am sure it is a tough decision for him to up-root his family so dont mind being a little bit patient.

All in all a very successful transfer window with possibly Gilberto (and Tiago) to come. Beat Arsenal 5-1, made some interesting points against ManU (ten men, hitting the post at 2-1 down). All good!

New Years resolution: Smile more and be nice to Harry!

My neighbours had a mighty row last night. Not for the first time, their marital discord spilled into the streets and our ears.

I lost count of the times their front door slammed; and that wife is capable of some serious decibels.

It's the kids I feel sorry for, particularly the elder of the two boys, as I've often seen him wearing a Scum kit, and seems less and less likely to grow up normal.

I don't know if I should phone the Social Services.

It's embarrassing when you think about the riches footballers earn in comparison to yesteryear.

Bueller - My old mans of the same opinion. I totally agree with you re: Gilzeans privacy but from what i could gather they were saying it was more out of shame that he lived that lifestyle. That is based on some assumptions on my part and something the guys were alluding to as far as i could make out hence the offer from Brazil - which i also understand. So good luck to all concerned i say and hopefully the best possible outcome for Gilly will be reached!

Anonymous said...

highandlow...

True. But Wrighty7 seems content in his delusions, and not an immediate danger to society. As long as he keeps taking his medication he'll probably reamain that way for the rest of his life.

My neighbours' boy is a different case. He's clearly looking for refuge from the trauma of watching his parents constantly fight, but he's too young to realise the consequences of seeking solace in the Scum.

The chance of him emerging into adulthood a social pariah, hostile or dysfunctional seems considerable. Unchecked, he might eventually self-harm or - even worse - grow to be, like many before him, completely lacking in a sense of humour.

It's sad to see parents throwing their children's lives away.

For the record, if Hutton does indeed sign then no, he won't be eligable for the UEFA Cup.

It does beg the question of who would play right-back in Europe for us, if indeed Pascal leaves.

He will be eligible. He hasnt played in the Uefa Cup, you can register 3 players who have played in other Uefa Competitions before 1st Feb.

Uefa Rule 17:18 on subsequent registration. One player from the above quota of three who has played UEFA clubcompetition matches for another competing club in the current season mayexceptionally be registered provided that the player has not been fielded:− in the same competition for another club,− for another club that is currently in the same competition.Furthermore, if the player’s new club is playing in the UEFA Cup, his formerclub must not have played in the UEFA Cup at any point in the currentseason

It's my understanding as teams from the Champions League CAN fall down into the UEFA Cup (which Rangers have) any players who did take part in the Champions League would be ineligable for the UEFA Cup.

But I'm sure I heard that Anelka may be eligable for Chelsea as playing in the UEFA Cup cannot grant you promotion to the Champions League. But if Chelsea had been demoted to the UEFA Cup he'd be ineligable?

God knows. FIFA make and change the rules whenever they feel like it.

I think all the stuff about Hutton agonising over coming to Spurs is mainly for public consumption back home. If he said he can't wait to leave Rangers it wouldn't go down well.

Nothing there Harry.

The story about Hutton "heading to WHL" was up yesterday.

All they're saying is they expect it to go through, nothing about it being done.

Should be announced today along with Gilberto I reckon.

Harry Hotspur said...

I find it strange then mate that the Official Rangers site (that is what that link goes to) is running GUESSES...

It's Them and Us said...

Well, he's obviously told Rangers and team-mates that he's off. But all the quotes are from yesterday.

If you believe what you hear then he flew back to Scotland last night and hadn't signed anything.

And after all, it comes down to what the player wants. He could quite easily change his mind (which he seems to have a habit of doing). I do expect him to be announced today alongside Gilberto or not at all (in this window).

Anonymous said...

The OFFICIAL Rangers site says he's cleared his locker. WAlter Smith says he'll do well at Spurs. Harry I'd give up mate these twats won't be told...

Anonymous said...

"I am extremely confident he will do well at Tottenham,"

"He has shown with his performances for Rangers and Scotland how well he can play. It's a terrific buy for Tottenham."

"You have to give him all the credit for his performances,"

"I didn't go out of my way to do anything special with him. His level of performance has been excellent and he now has the confidence to go along with that.

"Everybody at the club, from the chairman down, is disappointed from a football perspective that he's leaving.

"But we all know the reality of the situation is that it's the type of offer we couldn't turn down."

WALTER SMITH

It's Them and Us said...

Markk.. "these twats"? Great stuff.

I say merely pointing out that the article was online yesterday and I've already read it. Today there is an article saying "almost done" which comes with quotes Walter Smith said YESTERDAY.

You can't surely be angry that, as a Spurs fan, I want to see it offically confirmed? Jesus.

SSN are claiming personal terms have been agreed but until he actually signs he can easily change his mind. Can you get that through your head, Markk?

It's Them and Us said...

"Should be announced today along with Gilberto I reckon."

and

"I do expect him to be announced today alongside Gilberto or not at all (in this window)."

Also what I've said. I expect it to be done but pardon me if I worry until the deal is signed and he's stood holding up a Spurs shirt before I begin to really celebrate. It's not me questioning Harry, his sources, or whatever.

It's called being a Spurs fan. Pessimism is a natural trait.

Anonymous said...

What's the point of hanging around pushing the point he might change his mind? Will you be pleased? I think you should re-read that last part. He won't be eligible, as Rangers are currently in the same competition and he has been fielded for them.

However, is he even still coming? Times are reporting he has said no again. I have faith HH!!

It's Them and Us said...

Markk:

That's an incredibly ironic post. Seriously.

The point of changing his mind is because he's done this twice already. The lad wanted to stay, then thought about it, then decided to stay before saying goodbye. It's hardly the "I want to go to Spurs and nothing will stop me!" response that convinces us all it'll happen. So yes, I understand his love for Rangers and the birth of a child soon weigh on his mind, but that is also reason to believe there is a chance (albeit tiny) that he may again decide to stop in Glasgow until the summer.

I haven't ever told Harry he jumped the gun, even when he's wrong. I have an open-mind and like to take every rumour with a pinch of salt, regardless of the source. Mascherano, Tiago, Brown and in the past Duff, Rivaldo, etc (not just siting HH, but transfer targets in general). are all rumours/hopeful until they are seen donning the shirt. That is a fact. We've been promised so much and hoped for so many players that nothing ever seems to go smoothy for Spurs. Even with Woodgate I wondered what would happen when I knew Newcastle would offer far better wages than us. Thankfully he choose Tottenham.

I read the news on Rangers website yesterday and also saw the interview with Walter Smith. So yeah, I'm fully expecting him to be announced as a Spurs player but I had hoped that with all the news and comments it'd be done yesterday. It wasn't, for whatever reason.

Anonymous said...

How did you know where I work? ;)

But come on HH, everyone knew it was happening.

There's one transfer i credit you with getting info on, that was Bale, apart from that, I can't honestly say you've brought anything from the realm of unknown into this public domain.

Not that you purport to, but you do rather like taking the somewhat dubious credit when a nailed on transfer happens.

So harry was right, but that doesn't count because anyone could have guessed he would sign. well at least that's fair AND clear. Wankers.

Nailed on? It was me saying he wasn't coming at first. Only last night did I say it was done. Because it WAS. I was then deluged with knobs telling me it wasn't.

And now it IS done, it was always a foregone conclusion. Sorry, love, but come back when you've removed the wheels off your goalposts.

Your article appeared after the "Life After Alan" story was published on the Rangers website, come on! haha

Harry's record is actually better than that.

I tell you what, I'm losing the will to live here... well done for winning. You are the winner. You have won and are the best. Once again, congratulations.

My Word!
Ramos is busier than a Paedo in a creche. Woddy and Hutton in, routledge, boateng and hopefully 'chim-mer me timbers' out. All progressive moves if you ask me. this ship is about to steady and sail right through the mersey tonight. Honk Honk me maties.
(Appologies for the nautical themed post, i dont know whats come over me.Arrggghhh)

Well, Harry, before you top yourself... anything to tell us about Tiago?

If I were good at maths perhaps I could put the two gained from the accepted bid for The Prince together with the two that The Prince's pending vacancy will leave us. 2 + 2 anyone? I think its 5.

VP said...

KPB going to Villa?....you must be kidding Daily Mail! OK The Routeledge story IS believable ...but Boateng? we only signed him in the summer and he's not even been given a fair crack of the whip yet...can't see Comolli letting it happen....it would be an admission that he really doesn't know what he's doing....which of course we all know is true!...I think there should be some sort of sanctions code for journo's...you know..the more ridiculously unbelievable the story...the more fine's they have to pay to promote adult literacy...or something appropriate like that....or we should just remember their names and the duff stories they write about transfers that never happen..and how easily they are manipulated by greedy canny agents and embarrass the hell out of them....nothing journo's hate more than being held up to the light and scrutinized...interesting that even the Daily Mail weren't able to put someones name to this report..read between the lines

GRAZZA said...

Really, really surprised that an offer £3.5m (supposedly) has been accepted for the Fresh Prince of Boateng!

If true Ramos must think he is dogwank!

bueller said...

I don't want the Prince to go.

I don't think we'd be losing money on him though as the initial fee was only 3.5 wasn't it?

It's Them and Us said...

The story about KPB wasn't "broke" by the Daily Mail.

And it's obviously Ramos saying "he isn't good enough for me" and so far, Mr. Ramos hasn't done too bad.

shanemac said...

KPB was always a question mark. If Ramos doesn't think he's good enough from watching him in training, then Commoli (sp?) should swallow his pride and ship him off. I personally think he's about as effective as Ghaly was. Excited about Hutton and Gilberto (if it happens), but they're both attacking backs, so those of you who complained about Chimbonda's inability to stay in position shouldn't be hailing these two yet. Don't think there's enough time to find and sign another attacking midfielder though. Hopefully that's also indicative of Ramos' faith in the Tainio-Jenas partnership.

On another note, has anyone else noticed that malbranque can only play around 60-70 minutes before he completely runs out of steam and becomes irrelevant?

I love you all.

COYS.

Word has it on vital football(villa page) is that there seems to be no truth in the Boetang rumour....
They say the following:
It now appears that Kevin-Prince Boateng is not leaving Spurs for Villa in this transfer window.

Following bemusement from the Spurs press office when quizzed, Sky Sports have now removed the story linking the midfielder to the club.

GRAZZA said...

I thought KPB was more than 3.5? i might be wrong.....either way its strange that he should be out the door so soon.

I must admit i found it a bit strange that after we signed him it was like he didnt exist for months - there was no sign of him!!

Then there were suggestions on here that Ramos was a fan as he had tried to sign him for Seville.

Very strange situation.

Shanemac - I really noticed that last season and earlier this when he was getting subbed at exactly the juncture you are talking about but i thought he had been improving quite a bit with the rest of the squad fitness wise.

Im not entirely sure but i think that accusation was levelled at him when he was at Fulham as well.

He still does more in 70mins than some of them do in 90 though!!

VP said...

I dunno who broke the Boateng story....but I would be very surprised if it was true. If it is ...as some here seem to believe then for sure it must be because Ramos has a very low opinion of him. I just think it makes the club look foolish....thanks again Damian!!!! ....anyway if he's not good enough for Ramos...why would O'Niell want him? I'm definately not convinced..there have been too many bogus stories flying around especially as the window closes...agents are getting desperate to close their deals and will float all kinds of BS to get it done. I bet Villa are haggling with an agent over someones contract and someone is floating the KPB story to put pressure on the player/agent to accept and sign...I definately haven't seen enough of KPB to be so sure that we don't want him...maybe Ramos has seen something....I guess we'll find out in the next couple of days.

EL said...

KPB being sold is only surprising given where he's going. With an almost entire new defence and 'the prince' gone within ten minutes of Ramos' arrival, i'd say that the black trenchcoated Juande has had Comolli by the throat under the stairwell for a bit of a talking to, with Poyet on the lookout. "Let me pursuade eh leetle Juande, he no learn yet".

Oh, JGM, are you off the meds? Coz I've been agreeing with a lot of what you've said recently which is worrying me. King HAS to go. 1 in 3 games is a nonsense if it's true. Are we still paying him weekly? That's around 120 grand a match. Now I appreciate what he's done for Spurs up to now as much as the next person but enough's enough. You can't run a club like that. Not a good one anyway.

Captain Ledley. RIP.

The Tiago deal looks like it's stopped breathing to me. Shame. That particular swoop had me all a twitchy. Better luck in the summer maybe.

We'd better win that cup!

It's Them and Us said...

I think King is more likely to play say every Saturday, but perhaps not the mid-week matches. Or if he's needed for Europe he'd be rested the weekend before.

God knows.

I fully expect King to play tonight which will hopefully poo-poo on the said papers story that he's far too sore. Now if he misses the game tonight and the one against United.. people will talk.

Think we're more likely to get something out of the game tonight than the one against United, so I'd play King here. He might play in both and shock everyone!

I'm really at a loss.

I'm guessing you may be friendless in your 'King out' campaign, but it will be interesting to see if you arn't alone.

I can see your reasoning, but I think we owe Ledders a fairer crack of the wip than 1 month to prove his fitness?

bueller said...

Re: King OUT or IN:

IN!!!!!!!!!

I coouldn't even contemplate saying out until the Club gives us more 'definite' info.

If it is definite that he would only pay 1 in 3 then I am sure that King and the club would come to some kind of contractual arrangement.

Waheey, nice one "Hazza", gettin gin before the official site.

About Hutton - as a Spurs fan, I seem slightly twattish wrenching him away from a club he clearly loves. Read the article on BBC, the comments made by Rangers sound like they shoved him out the door.

Meh. Hope he settles quickly though.

any news on the hutton deal?

has he signed yet?
come on harry pull your finger out.
if you weren't so preoccupied with pandering to the insecurities of some on here you would have something concrete buy now.
guess if i want some facts i will just have to get the mail tomorrow.

Not a clue. I'm out of my depth here. The Venables thing looks like a go~er however.

I rang Coral and they confirm that they have indeed stopped taking bets on him but I could place one if I really wanted to.

It's Liverpool at Home tonight in the cup, but I don't want to run this as an exclusive in case people think I just C&P'd from the Official Site.

el,

you probably find you agree with me , because I am the most well rounded and intelligent poster here. Probably on the web as a whole in fact.

Even if you think you didnt agree with me before, You will most likely now agree I was right all along if you think about it. About everything. with the benefit of hindsight.

I've just seen the team.

Cerny, Chimbonda, Woodgate, Huddlestone, Gunter. Lennon, Jenas, O' Hara, Steed. Keane and Berbatov up-front.

So no King, no Tainio, Lee on bench. As are Rocha, KPB and Defoe. Robbo sub goalie.

LET THE KING RUMOUR MILL CONTINUE!

Can only assume both he and Teemu are injured. Shame.

to be honest im not a fan of this site that regurgitates rumours but il leave you somethin to talk about for the next few hours before you come up with another story based on rumours. let me ask you this tho harry, enlighten me, why is ledley king missing again? iv heard he can only play once every 3 games due to the lasting damage to the extent to which he wont return.

JGM - Try a pork steak with some hoisin and chilli and garlic with your noodles.

Although its now breakfast time so maybe not.

I am a Gers fan and were all gutted to see him go. Thats the deal though when your cash strapped in an inferior cash strapped league.

For guys who criticise Hutton for turning down Spurs then going back the coming home then going back, this is a massive thing for someone that young. He's the chance to play for a top team in arguably the best league in the world. He's cackin it. How many Scottish player headed South and been amazing. Record signing Craig Gordon . . . great player but can you say he's impacted. Kenny Miller . . . nothing special. James McFadden, Darren Fletcher. None are performing outstanding in the Premiership. He's got to have second thoughts.

He will handle the pressure though. The fact he has signed means he's up for it. He's a top player and will bust a gut for you guys. Get behind wee Al. :)
