will the jenas haters finally get it out of there thick mullet heads that we possess an outstanding attacking midfielder talent who will score as many goals as stevie g. We were good today against a poor side maybe but the performance and skill was there. The workrate was excellent and we were proud to appluad them off. By the way Darren bent might just be a great signing.......

Just back from the Lane - and clearly our best display for some time. Yes, Wigan were woeful; and we even managed a couple of jittery moments (especially early second half). But, boy, some people are hard to please. One row back and a couple of seats along from me in the South Upper, one guy was still claimimg JJ was a "lazy c**t", who "only tries when we're winning" - after Jenas had almost scored his hat trick (and what surely would've been goal of the season).I wouldn't go as far as Anon 7.55, but FFS give JJ credit when he does turn up. His all round game today was largely first class (Zokora was much more of a mixed bag). And cracking second goal. In fact all 4 goals involved impressive forward play. Berba excellent, too.

Jenas played well today, however like many others i am also not a fan of this over rated goon. I cannot work the guy out, possibly has all the talent in the world but rarely do we see this at tottenham. We cannot forget that Wigan were absolutely atrocious today

He has pace, can pass, good finisher, tackles back, good dribbler, but how often do we actually see any of this.

We need a world class centre midfielder, all the big teams have one, some one to drive us forward.
I for one was hoping that Jol would get PSV job and take Jenas with him.

Who knows perhaps Ramos manages to get best out of him but i doubt this very much.

I guess you'll be the first of many? Why not give the bloke a chance? New manager, new dawn? Nob.

Maybe this is Jenas' one fantastic performance in every twelve games? Until he does what he did today in four out of five matches, continually, I still won't rate him and imagine he'll be squad or somewhere else in a season or two.

Thanks Harry. Don't know how you come up with the goods so quickly.

Well done mate.

I live in the US so I haven't seen much live footage lately. But based on today, the squad looks more fit already. They're closing down defensively much quicker. They're clearing on defense instead of dribbling aimlessly. They're trying angles and through balls instead of hoofing it to the center top of the box. Maybe Ramos has told JJ to run to the ball, defense be damned, and use that pace. Maybe, he knows how to use him as he should be used?

No thanks required. Cutting & pasting isn't exactly demeaning or demanding work!

I'll try to find some better clips in the morning...

El: i'm with you mate.

derby, anyone? good to know we can still beat up on the minnows (sometimes). i hate to be THAT spurs fan, but if jenas doesn't show up next match then his performance against wigan means nothing. if he has a great game against west ham, i'll be the first to admit i was wrong.

actually eff that, i have a right to be apprehensive about jenas, he's been shit for the last two years, i'm not about to be convinced by one good display. i can feel dannyboy's wrath brewing... at least you can't call me "fickle" mate. "give the lad a chance" you'll say. i wish i could say that consistency has been jenas's issue, but one good showing in 20 isn't inconsistent, it's sporadic.

great match from king berb, though. i, for one, believe in the man. every time you think that the man lacks passion (or a pulse), watch his celebration after his goal against aston villa.

Old berbs was doing his best Sheringham impression yesterday - classy, classy display without reward - he was on his best behaviour too. What a great change.

Jenas was a dynamo but jury is still out. Even Zokora played well in the first half, faded second. Bents goal was a gem - he looks a new man already!

More of that please Tottenham (poor opposition point taken, west ham will be made of tougher stuff at home).

The only shame yesterday was that bale wasnt back.

Jenas lovers are having a laugh, plays well in a whole two games, Derby and Wigan two of the worst teams in the league, because that's his level, Championship. If he comes up for sale in Jan that'll be the type of club in for him and he won't be fetching the kind of price that retarded dwarf Levy coughed up.

Jenas is still a useless ponce.

Jenas is a talented player, in my opinion tht is not questionable. too many times this year jenas has played too deep and as a consequence is ineffective. fabregas last year scored only 3 goals nd now has over 10 with less than half the season gone. has fabregas suddenly imporoved tht much? of course not, arsenal this season play a 5-man midfield nd flamini (rubbish tho he is) has covered more ground than any other prem player. the result? fabregas is freed from any defensive shackles nd is free 2 influence the game more. tht is not an accident tht is arsene wengers aim. jenas is no different, wigans attack was so poor tht he no longer needed 2 play so deep, he was free to roam forward and look at the difference(same thing with Derby). how gd wud elano or lampard be if they had so many defensive responsibilties? not very, they operate in the final 3rd almost exclusively, jenas doesn't have tht luxury nd if we're 2 see the best of him we need 2 ensure he is given tht freedom

Re:2.42pm anon

Are you saying that if only Jenas was positioned on the field properly, he'd be comparable to fabregas or lampard? And if you actually believe that fab & lamp play almost exclusively in the last 3rd of pitch, maybe you ought to watch some re-runs of live arse and chelski games.

I have to say that I was extremerly satisfied with the display on Sunday. I reqalise there is more work to be done as better sides will be able to exploit us more than the poor showing by Wigan, but it was all smiles in the crowds.

Well done Tottenham.

Maybe it was all about the team playing in a manner that mean't JJ could be at his best, so there was no worry about him sitting back as much as normal.

As always, they showed that on the break they need to be quick which I belive is our strongest form of attack with the spped possesed in the side.

Anyone that had odds like many around me pulled in a few quid as well with odds of around 20/1 for a 4-0 win Surs.

COYS!!!!

Smudger.

There is one very exciting point we are missing here: Great managers can transform players. I believe Juande is showing up just how awful Jol was. I dont know whether JJ needed a kick up the arse, an ego stroking or what - but maybe JR has found out how to get him playing, same with Berba, Lennon and Dawson, maybe even Zok. I think Jol and Hughton ruined Lennon by trying to play him on the left, ruined JJ by not giving him defined role, ruined Dawson by not good coaching, and ruined the team by not being able to organise a p*** up in a brewery. I'm not convinced by JJ yet but there seems to be better man management and maybe, just maybe.....

Needed to get Levy's cock out of his arse.

Jenas played like he did against Wigan when playing Derby under BMJ it's got sod all to do with manager it's just a player finding his level against the non existent midfields of Championship sides.
