Dos Santos To Sign In A Matter Of Days...

Shout when you can see him...

The Spanish are indicating that the light at the end of the tunnel is indeed light and not as some of us were beginning to feel, the front of an oncoming train.

Giovani Dos Santos will come with the usual endlessly tiered contract dependent upon the usual variables of appearances, goals, Super Mario Kart Hi Scores etc.

The player's agent is said to have been busily sparring with THFC bean counters earlier week and this thing could be resolved as soon as tomorrow. Monday.

The agent has said, "The project is promising and has offered Giovani ambitious and wants to become great in the Tottenham and helping the team to be. . It is true that to leave the club this is a risky decision, but for his qualities seem to be the best option for him." Which doesn't sound too awful, as agent pronouncements go.

The player's father is quoted as saying, "it is an honor that teams such as Tottenham are set in Giovani, but there is nothing official yet but is well under way." Which is again optimistic enough fare for any Spurs fan, I would've thought.

Interesting snippet to all this is that the father goes on to remark that the ankle injury to his boy is now good and the recovery ought meet the dealines.

BIOYC!

lets hope this is true harry

but what of our sales out? any word of any offers coming in for our players

also what is to be made of all the news around bentley, joaquin, capel, behrani - the endless onslaught of spurs proposed winger purchases??

I also hope this is true harry. One little issue with the article, zizinho is his dad not his agent. His agent is Pini Zahavi who is a right little cunt, if the quotes were from him then that is very promising. Tottenham need this guy not only for improvement but also to keep that Bulgarian.COYS

Talk is cheap, even in the monied world of football. Their comments are a stick to prod a few of europe's bigger clubs, trying to spur them into action. Reading between the lines they say 'get a move on before it's too late'. I'll be very pleased to see him at the lane, he's very talented, but i'll also be surprised... very suprised.

All these glamour players are fine but what happened to a decent defensive midfielder. This is far to reminiscent of last year: Boatang, Bent, left sided player...

All of this fails to address the problem that has dogged Spurs for the last two years, failure to replace Michael Carrick.

But where are you getting these quotes from?! Because I really hope they are true and he signs.
Thanks.

look at the top of the article, click on spanish and its from a paper. But the question is, are the quotes the paper published true? They may be fabricating....would his agent/father rly be commenting at this stage?

ANTON FERDINAND is set for a £6million move to Spurs????????.
if we were to get him, and i hope we don't, but if we were to get him I'm gonna keep it in mind that at 23 i didn't think much of woodgate or rio ferdinand either. or terry for that matter. center backs, with the exception of your campbells, kings and nesta's, tend to bloom when the reach the second half of their 20's. look at someone like dunne, who all of a sudden is hot property when at that age he was just this useless fat lump.

having said all that, I'd rather stick with our current 4, or replace either daws or kaboul (not both) with someone that has more experience......

just a few questions about Dos Santos
1. where does he play
2. is he good enough to start for next season as i am soooo tired of us buying for the future.

just a bit worried about the lack of intrest we seem to have for a new top class goal keeper, got any news on a new goal keeper coming to the lane

He's an attacking midfielder who can play left or right or behind the main striker, left footed but played usually on the right for Barca.
Anyone else heard that if he comes to us his younger brother Jonathan will also??

Just got my girlfriend to translate the story interesting points are this.
8 million euros up front rising to 11 mil in add ons.
Ramos has told him he will be an essential part of the team.
Details to be concluded in london by monday (think Harry said that).
Very advanced stage.
Player and family have spoken to Ramos, Zizinho is very impressed with our offer and Santos wants to make him self a big name within the spurs team.

Sounds like a done deal to me, I bloody hope so cause i think he is quality.

Sign him now! I'm not usually one for players in the future either but his hattrick the other day was sublime. dos santos or zokora/taino/boeteng/malbranque etc? There's no question who I'd prefer. It's these type of signings that get the ball rolling for more top class players to look our way, people like dunne aren't gunna cut the mustard I don't think.

Interesting looking at the poll on that spanish website, of thousands of spaniards only 6% want berbatov over the likes of benzema and ibrahimovich, that's fine by me!

i agree with alot of comments spec one sayin about replacin carrick need a strong holdin player..i thought huddlestone was a player to full fill his boots...lot of potesial but he doesnt act like he wants it...to lazy, clearly doesnt have the best diet as hes a bit podgy

we need someone who is going to fight for the the ball like malbranque...and can pass real good..thats the player we need...that is what we missin and will win us games

Dos santos is a fantastic player great for the future...we should get him at all costs... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XC5e6daBB4A...copy and paste that...you can see him in action

we should sell berb....quality player...slightly over rated and we get a real good price for him...prob around 30m...hes 27 hes a had his best seson no one will want him in 2 years time.

time to get a young striker to fill his boots...

Keane and Bent are good enough though should give bent a real chance with less preasure on him

Anybody else read that piece of crap by the shit-stirring Spammer journo in the Sunday Mirror ("White Hart Pain")?
Apparently Ramos' huge summer sales extravanganza will include one "Gary O'Hara." Who he?
And a further sign of the alleged "turmoil" at THFC is that "scout Eddie Presland has left" - the implication being that he either quit or was shown the door.
Eddie grew up 'round the corner from my Auntie Mae in East Ham. He's just turned 65 and, no drama, has simply retired.
Meanwhile, back on planet Earth - Anton ("Me Granny's dead") Ferdinand ain't coming to Spurs... because Dunne ain't going to Pompey.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the update, Harry. This is great news. The recruitment of Dos Santos makes the whole Sunday Sainsbury's / B & Q merry-go-round a bit more tolerable.

But why do we have to spoil it all by getting a new goalie? Everybody knows they eat too much and they let in too many goals.

What's all this about Anton Ferdinand? I'd rather we sign Anton du Beke from Strictly Come Dancing.

But if we sign him, would we still be after Capel?

We really have to get a new DM to, zokora/hudd just isnt good enough for uss.

We should try sign Jean ll Makoun, he really looks quality from what i have seen from him.

We are not Manchester United, or Real Madrid. Although still a kid, Dos Santos is hardly likely to be signing for Spurs.

A really curious report of the day is in the Telegraph, suggesting Whinger will join PSG as President in 2011.

The club is currently looking for a Director of Sport, with our very own 'Dame in the Frame', so we're told.

What does this mean? Is Dame preparing to simply 'move on' to the next professional challenge in the course of his persoanl development? Or has Ramos shone a light on the man's work, and Levy has found it to be not too appealing?

If Dame is the complete numskull some Spurs fans would have us all believe, we wouldn't have Ramos at the club. Nor would a man with the nous of Whinger (supposedly) want him on the staff of PSG. Unless Whinger believes he brings out the best in Dame.

"Gary O'Hara" out? Good riddance. I much prefer his brother.

Giovani Dos Santos is on the verge of completing a move from Barcelona to Tottenham Hotspur after a basic agreement was reached between all three parties.
The 19-year-old Mexico international could join the Premier League side as early as Monday according to Sport after Barca accepted an 8million euros (£6.2million) bid.
That fee may rise to 11million euros (£8.6million) depending on both Dos Santos and Tottenham meeting specified targets during his four-year stay at White Hart Lane.
Deal close
Dos Santos's father, Zizinho, admitted that his son is proud and excited by the thought of moving to such a prestigious club as he told Mexican daily paper, Record, that a deal was in the offing.
"Nothing has been finalised," he said. "But it is an honour that a club as important as Tottenham want to sign Giovani, but nothing can be said officially yet.
"The ambitious project that Tottenham have has excited Giovani and he just wants to go there and help the team in any way he can.
"It is obvious that leaving Barcelona is a risky decision, but with his qualities it appears that it could be the best option for him."
Spurs boss Juande Ramos was keen to land the starlet because he strongly believes that his pace, ability to break into the area and shooting ability make him perfect for the English game.
Although a deal has not been finalised, Dos Santos' agent, Pini Zahavi, and Barca's sporting vice-president, Marc Ingla, believe that there will be few problems in reaching an agreement.
Throughout the negotiations, Dos Santos - who is also wanted by Manchester City - has been undergoing treatment to recover from a an operation that he had on his ankle in the middle of May and is set to keep him out of action for another four weeks.

The Dos Santos thing worries me. As per a previous blog, if he was that good then why are Barca selling him and why is nobody else after him? With him and Modric in the same team, who the hell is going to tackle? It all has shades of the famous five from the mid nineties and we all know where that left us.

Dont fancy Ferdinand either. There are some players you just feel are not right for our great club and he ticks all those 'not right' boxes. I would sooner persevere with Dawson.

I've just read an article which may explain why Zokora leaves most Spurs fans sh1tting bricks when he plays.

Apparently, a recent study among 250 children in a pediatric ward found that all of them were afraid of the clown imagery that decorated their ward. Basically, children hate clowns. They scare them.

"We found that clowns are universally disliked by children. Some found them quite frightening and unknowable."

My theory is that Zokora reminds us all of that basic, deep-seated fear we have of clowns. This is why many of us feel so uneasy when he takes to the pitch.

Harry,

After yesterday's initial excitement involving the potentially imminent signing of Dos Santos, I found myself at something of a loose end and, for mild amusement, I wandered over to the blogspot of Wrighty7, to peer into his nutshell-sized universe.

His latest entry concerned the rapidly progressing rehabilitation of Eduardo from horrific injury, and how Wrighty7 (having been informed of that news by his father, who shouted up to him while he was in the bath) was shocked at the speed of the player's recovery.

Well, I have to tell you, I experienced a sense of shock, too - not because of the wonders of modern medical science and physiotherapy, but because a goon*r apparently takes an interest in his personal hygiene. This, as you will know, is suggestive of a basic level of human development - which, hitherto, I had not deemed possible among his kind.

I realise that, in this instance, there is no proof, since no one was there to witness the alleged behaviour (nor, if we are honest, would anyone remotely wish to be); and that the entire story may, in fact, be classified as apocryphal. Even worse, it may fall under the category of a wild, outlandish hoax, such as Piltdown Man, alien abductions and lizards in the White House.

But, if true, it would be a discovery of enormous anthropological significance, and I believe National Geographic might be interested to send a research team – naturally, observing the usual safety precautions.

I wonder if you or anyone else has shared a similar experience.

Is Dunne going to Pompey over Spurs?? dopey cunt.

Anonymous said...

I've been wondering what Dunne plans on doing and what I think is if he goes to Pompey, then this is because he feels he might not always be first choice at Spurs and wants to play regularly. If this is the case, then we don't want him because he needs to set his ambitions higher and come to Spurs because he intends to keep his place in the side.

That would be the only reason I could come up with because if it was for football reasons and quality then you come to Spurs over Pompey any day of the week.

Did anyone watch the cup final and see how Cardiff brought Pompey down to their level?

Admirable sentimentality 9.37 but I fear that Paul G has long since past the point of being able to rationally accept help. I think it’s and indictment of society and the systems that we implement that although his celebrity status is major factor in his current mental health problems, it will ensure that he is allowed to descend further into the abyss before an appropriate treatment programme is put into practice.

Overriding an individual’s right to choose is not an act that should be undertaken without due consideration but judging by the increasing frequency of negatively charged events, I have a horrible feeling that those around him are rapidly running out of time.

Good shout 9:37 - I am going to avoid the cheap digs at z-list celebs proclaiming to love all things goon, thats another classic.

So farewell then Bo Diddley
And middle eights that were fiddley,

But no where near so as Van Halen's self indulgent piece, Eruption'

Alas it was your recuring heart condition that took from your last words, such close instruction...

Your amp unpluged for good at 79,
As you cried out, "One more time!"

Yes Mr. Diddley has joined us in… well I’m not exactly sure and unfortunately just as we were anticipating an impromptu jam featuring the new arrival, Hendrix, Johnson, Entwistle and Bonham the illustrious quintet were roped into the eternal search for Van Gough’s ear… so we’ll just have to wait.

For those of you partial to some fretboard wizardry that extends slightly further that zooming up and down the Aeolian mode I would recommend Mattias Ia Eklundh and Freak Kitchen as an ideal way to pass the time as we wait nervously for good news from WHL

What about the mega-triple-unveiling?

Can't take this Dos Saintos anticipation any longer. and now there's possibly three?

And not only THAT: Berbatalk quiet and now hope of him actually staying starts to burn inside me again...

Can't we at least start that offload of deadwood that's been on the cards for ages? Gardner to Stoke. Ghaly to..well, rest Lee to PSV and so forth?

Come on Commoli pull out the finger!

Yeah horrid innt, expectations raised only to be dashed is worse than not having any in the first place. Now I may be barking up the wrong Sequoiadendron giganteum as per usual but since the transfer window opened I’ve thought that Berba is high on a lot of peoples lists but not top of anyones. So he and we must wait for the merry-go-round to gets up to speed before his future will become clear.

Seems common sense for the Champions League teams to wait until after the Euros to make their moves, someone might show quality that has previously gone unnoticed and there is always the possibility that your new signing could get injured and not kick a ball ‘till Christmas or beyond

It’s the chasing pack that have to get in early

Mega-triple unveiling, eh?
That'll be the Berba replacement, back-up CB and DM we've all been craving, then.
I'm reliably informed that Comolli has Dean WindASS, TITus Bramble and NOBerto Solano in the bag.
Watch out for that Daily Mail "exclusive".
What do you mean, they ain't top four material? Like the late, lamented Mr Diddley said: "Don't judge a book by it's cover."
Mind you, he also said "I'm a roadrunner, baby, beep-beep"

What can I say?
Tip Top.

Not sure on other people's thoughts, but I think Berbs is a liability we can do without in away games, especially against the smaller teams. I'm kinda hoping he'll go & we get someone who wants to bleed for the club Robbie style. I'd actaully prefer Bent in away matches unless we playing one of the top 4 (big platform for billy big boots). We need to beat the smaller teams if we're gonna get anywhere. What are people's thoughts on trying Jenus as a defensive mid? Got the engine for it... Can't wait for this Dos Santos to sign, still can't understand why Barca are prepared to let him go!

Jenas would excel in the defensive midfield role in my opinion.

All this slagging Berbatov business sucks. He's not go yet so let's get behind him until he does, eh?

Berbatov is a cunt.

Hope he stays though. But only if Ramos is prepared to kick him up the arse and not pander to his inflated sense of importance.

Berbatov is anything but a liability!

Lets leave all this bitter ex-lover stuff for vermin like Campbell who twisted and broke our hearts under a web of lies and deception, for that bloke we hate.
(Then we found out.... she was gay anyway....)

For me, if Berbatov goes, it'll be more like that girl who came into our lives smelling of sweet summer meadows, showed us things we had all but forgotten and then left with us with a feeling of positivity about the future.

If Berba goes, by god I'll miss her but I'll always remember the good times rather than the bad (and by bad I all I can think of is him trying to go round Toure against l'arse when he'd already merked Lehmann and only had to stroke it home for 2-0).

In response to Beuller's ex-lover references to Dimitar Berbatov...

If he was to be compared to a girl who came into your life as you imply I would suggest it would be more like this.

You were awestruck by their graceful movements, every delicate motion you witnessed. You thought you had possibly met your perfect companion. A year passes by and you're convinced this relationship will be destined for great things, perhaps bringing you a lifetime of memories to cherish.

Then, early on in your second year together, you begin to notice things around you. Someone else has been admiring your treasure from afar, and no wonder - it's a beautiful thing you have. It seems to creep into the relationship - you look for the glint in their eyes hoping that things are still the same between you, and you aren't 100% sure if it's still there. You hit a spot where the passion seems to have wavered - more on their part than yours.

A few months later, and it seemed as though the rocky patch was simply a glitch and things appear, on the surface at least, to be back to normal. However you do start to see that your lover has a tetchy, moodier side. You try to sweep it under the carpet and pretend it's not there, but you ask yourself if things really are back to normal after all?

By the time the second year has elapsed, the doubts in your mind begin to wrest control over your emotions. There doesn't seem to be any communication between you any more, and you begin to wonder if they would rather be with someone else. People are telling you that this person is no good for you, but you don't want to believe them.

But you know it probably is over. When was the last time your sweetheart declared "I love you"? You haven't heard it recently, that's for sure. The fact is you're probably only still together because they've got nowhere else to go. Deep down you know the countdown has begun. It won't be too long before the bitch leaves you and shacks up with someone else.

In time the penny drops, and you come to realise this one isn't the one for you, and you deserve your love to be reciprocated.
