Enquries Made: Thomas Kahlenberg

We are making enquiries about Auxerre's and sometime Danish International attacking midfielder, Thomas Kahlenberg.

Twenty five years of age, six foot tall and all his own teeth. He is fit, fast, technically sound and would translate into the Premiership without any great fuss. If this is one is on the cards, then get him in. He went to the French side for £2.5 million in 2005 so one might expect to land him for ooh say, an amount in excess of that figure.

Cue obligatory showreel...

So he'l be back up to Modric or something?

Oh and - Good morning Harry, wonder if anyone's said that before.

Harry Hotspur said...

They haven't. Thank you and good morning.

I think it reflects the fact that our midfield needs a major, major overhaul.

I don't care what people say - you don't just regurgitate information other sites post. The best headlines on News Now Tottenham are always from Harryhotspur. Thanks.

Sorry but our midfield does not need an overhaul at all. Modric will create the flair, we now need a left winger and a defensive midfielder and thats our midfield sorted. We already have plenty of attacking midfielders and if we can get a top quality attacking left winger like McGeady or Capel i think we'll have all the attacking power we need in midfield. Besides, Boeteng had a similar showreel to this and he's a few years younger.

If that dooesn't incense 'em, nothing will..

No disrespect, but that's a bit of a muddle there.

Our midfield doesn't need a major overhaul? I think the bulk of our performances and final league position indicate otherwise.

Boateng? I was very pro this guy, unfortunately like mty local chip shop, he didn't deliver.

No two ways about it, we don't lose all our current lot who are INCAPABLE of supplying Berbatov or Keane and in one season's time the same mob will be failing to supply Bent.

12:07 This actually did the rounds over the last 2 days on a few other sites. He was mentioned along with some French goalie (not Coupet).

Harry Hotspur said...

If I take it from another site I credit. Hence no link.

Kahlenberg mentioned, where? I'm not pursuing any exclusive title here, just curious? I must've missed it. Only got the email on this last night.

The keeper you mention was always garbage, as you probably know.

How is getting Modric and then needing a left midfielder and a defensive midfielder not a major midfield overhaul?

Harry, this particular one i saw in Spurs Community, from a non-ITK who happened to have been passed this info. Yeah the goalie was something similar to 'Lauren Pionier', who nobody has heard of.

I think most people are hoping it's not true.

"Most people are hoping it's NOT true."

Has he got a degenerative arthritic condition?

Only kidding, why would signing a guy who appears to be able to 'assist' be a bad idea?

As a danish Yid, I know Kahlenberg quite well. Have seen him play a lot of times, and this is a bit tricky.

Sometimes he plays extremely well, great passes, great shot and good a playning "through balls". He is quite fast, and on the national team, he plays on the left midfield. Sometimes he plays center, but mostly on the left side. When he played in Broendby in dk, he played center, and I think that suits him better.

Problem is that he is quite injuryprone, but if he can keep fit, he would be a great addition.

H, I think he meant Coupet, not Kahlenberg

He looks a good player and could signal the departure of Jenas if we do get him. But then again we might deploy this guys as AM and Modric as DM (which he plays 4 his current club b4 anyone doubts his ability in that position) after that we just need a LM and another top draw midfielder and we should b sorted in midfield. The only major problem would b when Berba goes, who is gonna replace him. I would like to see Huntelaar or Milito come in if were not goin 4 Etoo. Mayb both if we get rid of Bent as well!

as a swedish yid, i have to say that that description of kahlenberg makes him sound a lot like kim kallstrom. except kallstrom is left-footed, and is strong in the tackle as well. this is ultimately an irrelevant and frivolous piece of information, i realise.

Harry, it's just the usual thing of no-one outside England knowing much about him. Although to counter that argument of course, was the Berby signing. But will he really be that much better than players we already have?

As already mentioned, a vid on youtube can make my gran look good (unless it's GILF porn), in fact, i could create a clip making Gary Doherty look like a world beater - so most people are a tad sceptical if he's a complete unknown over here.

huntelaar would be a class replacement. milito's an opportunistic poacher, he doesn't create goals for himself.

Good Afternoon Harry.

Shanemac, " this is ultimately an irrelevant and frivolous piece of information " agreed but those are the more entertaining bits on this blog.

12.10 Love the way you say our midfield doesn't need a major overhaul then suggest we need 2 more new midfielders as well as Modric. So what's 3 out of 4 if it's not a major overhaul and if we really want to be top four we need a top four midfield.

Try my golden rule, tell me how many of our current midfield would get in to any of the top four sides' midfield's.

Good afternoon, ODM.

This is all very civilised.

I may have to get up and put a clean vest on.

Yip, our midfield is the most obvious dept. that needs overhauling.Hopefully Modric will provide the creativity that we need but we still need a decent defensive midfielder having never really replaced Carrick, and a decent left sided midfielder too.Not sure this Kahlenberg is what we need tho - sounds no better than what we've got already.

Harry Hotspur said...

Fuck me, they've resorted to trying to hang me on STEALING FROM MYSELF.

Anyway, that piece was wholly different to this one.

In that one he was 24.

shanemac said...

ODM, the frivolity i was referring to was my own suggestion of kallstrom since it's just a passing conjecture on my part. i would never deem to imply that anything Harry Hotspur posts was at all irrelevant. heaven knows that we'd follow him like lemmings to the end of the world, or at least that's the reputation we've got.

Harry Hotspur said...

This religous cult shall not tolerate such dissent.

By order.

onedavemackay said...

shanemac. The frivolity I was referring to was YOURS.

Harry. Is it stealing to take something from yourself ?

shanemac said...

My mistake.

Also, Harry, you're in luck.

"In 1994 John Fogerty was sued for self plagiarism after leaving Fantasy Records and pursuing a solo career with Warner Brothers. Fantasy still owned the rights to the CCR library and sound. Saul Zaentz, the owner of Fantasy, claimed Fogerty's song "Old Man Down the Road" was a musical copy of the Creedence song "Run Through the Jungle." The court made a landmark decision when it ruled that an artist cannot plagiarize himself."

onedavemackay said...

Does the same apply to piss artists ?

Harry Hotspur said...

I'm off to get plagiarissed.

Kahlenberg would be a very good signing. A player with excellent skills. The "new Laudrup". Unfurtunately he had a lot of injuries last season, but when he is fit he can win matches. Hasn' t reached his full potential yet. Maybe a good time to sign him because of his bad (cause of injuries) last season. When Michael Laudrup gets a new job as manager, I'm sure Kahlenberg - if posible - will be his first signing. Let him start as a backup for Modric, and later he will shine and for sure be an important first team player
