Well it was inevitable. Most Tottenham fans will be watching the Carling Cup Final in their favourite bar. The Corporate Charlies will hoover up the rest of the seats , some so drunk they won't know where they are...
"The Club can confirm that there has been just short of a 100% take up from One Hotspur Platinum, Gold and Silver Members and a very similar take up from its Annual Executive Members and Executive Box Holders for Carling Cup Final tickets. Unfortunately, this means that very few Carling Cup Final tickets will be available to One Hotspur Bronze and Lilywhite Members and the loyalty point threshold will be very high." ~THFC
Wouldn't it be great if we were allowed to fill this stadium with real fans? Last time I looked their money was as good as anyone elses and the atmosphere would benefit a hundredfold.

Tried the penalty thing. I am Defoe ;(
agree harry furious with all this, so i have 221 points willthat be enough?
I'm going to Wembley. Lucky enough to have been a season ticket holder for a number of years. I see this as payback for all those seasons of mediocrity. I think they'll be enough "true" Spurs fans to make a great atmosphere, but not sure the same can be said for the Chelsea end, who will be stuffed with corporates, as they make up a large percentage of Stamford Bridge season tickets. Agree that the game should be for real fans but I'm afraid that went out of the window as soon as Sky started chucking their money around.
8.08 The general rumblings indicate you'll be dandy. Certainly the mood is that is you've under a 100 you won't be going... But of course, we will have to wait and see what the actual figure is...
cheers harry, i was thinking it was around that but didnt realise that the exec boxes got priority over members too so was a little a worried
guess i won't be getting my ticket from the club...i'll keep searching..
in other news..Bale out for the season confirmed today...
bad news for the team but good in the sense that we can say "imagine what we'll be like when Bale returns" for the next couple of months!!

What a f*cking stupid comment.
Is it me or am I seeing loads of stupid comments on here today? Must be Mondy.
Harry, any chance of a simple sack him / back him vote on Robbo to see the overall consensus of opinion? I know which way I'll vote!! Cheers
coys
Done!
Dannyboy, perhaps one should learn to spell "mondy" before expressing ones opinion so loudly....Its dimwits like you that give Spurs fans a bad name...
Well done mate.

Cor, really glad all the season ticket holders have pitched in to create a good atmosphere at Wembley - Just like they did against Middlesbore & Blackpool in the early rounds...
Oh, sorry... My mistake - the club had to plug the tickets at £20 per, to get a decent take up & there was still only 30,000 at The Lane.
Glad the members are good for something - giving the club some support when the season ticket holders can't be arsed.
Thanks THFC.
2 games is all ive missed at the lane this season thats with a 250 mile round trip & i get fuck all loyalty points! now i wont get 2 see our biggest game. i dont see a lot of justice in that personally!
Anon 11.18
If you've been to all but two home games, how come you have "fuck all" loyalty points? You should have loads - unless you've been "blagging" your tickets from some dodgy source. Or, possibly, this is your first season?
I understand everyone's frustration at this situation - and I'll be as hacked off as anybody if I find out some corporate nonce, who thinks N17 is a boy band, gets in before me. But at least it's being done on loyalty points rather than who's got the biggest bandwidth or most effecient telecommunications system. So, Doug, those of us who did turn up for B'pool & 'boro in the early rounds (and got 5 points for each game) were rightly better rewarded over the big-game-only merchants who drag their arses to the Lane if its Manure or Arse or Wet Spam.
Apologies, of course, to anyone who gets to as many games as they can - and geography, jobs, finances, family allow.
Yeah, it ain't ideal, but it is a damn sight fairer than a bunfight among all the members. Surely, someone who has been to, say, a dozen games over the last 3 seasons should get preference over someone who has been to eight or nine this season?
And shouldn't criticism of the allocation actually be aimed at the FA & Wembley rather than the clubs? Why are 20,000+ tickets going to neutrals?
Thought this was going to be about Bale! Not a surprise either!
"What a f*cking stupid comment."
I think he was having a wee laugh mate!
Quite right pompeyid. Used to be that for the Carling cup final (or whatever it was called) most of the tickets when to the fans but nowdays of course the real fans are the ones who are shat on most.
The point about going to all the games at WHL and living far away so should have a fair amount of loyalty points isn't really true. It's nigh impossible for me to get to most away games so I make do with the odd trip to the non-popular ones such as Boro, Blackburn and Wigan instead. You generally only get 1pt for home games and up to 5pts (I believe, anyway) for away games.
But, whatever, I agree the allocation is more than fair. Us that fall short will have to raid the random sites and track down 'neutral' tickets, or ask our managers at work if anyone knows of some going spare.
As for Robbo, he deserves another chance for me. Maybe not this season if Cerny continues to perform well but certainly shouldn't be written off.
Dannyboy... my second comment on this thread was not posted by me.. someone used my name..i don't think you're a dimwit nor do i think you're giving Spurs a bad name.. don't worry..friends?!
and yes i was having a wee laugh with my first comment..

Oh shite! Here we go; the adds are starting to blend in with the articles. I'm d-r-a-w-n in but I'm

The paradox is messing with my mental equalibrium!
Ahh canna take much more o this captain........
Normal substandard service will be evaded as soon as possible we apologise for any original content and hope you at least bought three shirts, a time share & a part share in a lean mean grillin' machine during your stay!

Not right, mate. You get 1 point for category A games (home or away) - the likes of the Gooners; 3 points for cat B (e.g. Pompey) and 5 points for Derby, Wigan, etc. Early rounds of all cup comps are usually awarded 5 points, too. Sorry, but dem the facts.
Dont mind the season ticket boys getting first dibs, fair enough.
But executive corporate tosspots? Fuck off.
And 20000 tickets allocated to non fans. fuck off.
going to all games apart from two should have collected you at least 30 odd points I would have thought.
Most European games have been 5 pointers as well I think
Derby Wigan Brum Reading have been to the Lane - 20 points.
Well I know a guy who owns a box at Spurs and he isnt a Corporate Fcukwit... He's a yido with money and prefers to watch from the comfort of his own little space.
And for the £30,000 he pays for the box per season, I wont begrudge him getting a Carling Cup Final ticket before me.
I beleive the loyalty points required to aquire a ticket for the cup final is going to be substantially higher than some of the predictions posted - if the statement made issued by our beloved club is true - especially the 100 points banded about which was only used by the club as an example.
I have 158 points and beleive Derby have more chance of winning the Premiership than I do of getting a ticket.
However, Spurs method of allocating tickets appears the fairest way available - its the laughable allocation which is the real probelem here.
What happened to those little cup final vouchers that they used to give out at the turnstiles to members?
Old hat probably!?
Ah, sorry Pompeyyid.
Most of the home games I've been to over the years haven't yealded much points (but I've never seen Spurs play Arsenal (well, not on my membership), Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea (not on my membership), or West Ham (not on my membership) at home. The big points I get are for the European games (where pants are pulled down over the price) or away games up north, or the not-so-popular cup ties.
Not gonna make the cut. Got a couple of friends that maybe be able to swing a corporate/neutral ticket -- although when they check the internet and see the prices they're going for (by the way, current ones, are just fucking stupid) that might not happen either.
And 20,000 to non fans is laughable but this is the best year for fans in a while. If we'd of reached the FA Cup final we'd of been allocated even less. The Carling Cup is seen as the 'fans cup' because the corporates don't rate it too much.
I can't stand the flush cunts that bought Wembley season tickets. I can't stand watching England anymore. I wonder how many won't even bother to turn up.
The points themselves aren't the issue - as yes, the pissier games do get more points - the problem is with the loyalty system itself.
Yes, I got my 10 points, but what good is that EVER going to do me if every time we get in a final, the basic laws of maths dictate that the bar gets raised further and further.
i.e. If the older members (i.e. those with 300 plus points) keep going to games then the number required will always increase proportionately.
I therefore have as much chance of getting a ticket for a final as I have of getting a season ticket... basically, sweet FA (I've been on the waiting list for over 7 years and have moved from 5,100 in the queue to 5,099).
Don't even get me going on the wasters that bought the Wembley debenture seats... Grrrrrrr.
Doug
This'll cheer you up...I know someone who owns 4 debenture seats at Wembley....and he's an Ar5ena1 fan...and he's sold his 4 cup final tickets to Sid Spiv the ticket tout for £500 a piece...
Coming to you via an internet near you soon for a grand or two, no doubt...
Without the Wembley debenture holders the stadium wouldn't have been built. As a Spurs fan I am glad I can afford one, as I have been unable to procure a season ticket at WHL despite a number of years as a member and it looks like I won't have enough loyalty points either, as they have not carried mine over from past seasons.
The problem with the Wembley 'members' is they seem to be the main re-sellers of tickets via online 'touts', rather than returning unwanted tickets through the correct channels, for re-sale by Wembley and via the club's involved.
2.29 Anon
I rest my case.
Wembley need to get a grip on this on all clubs and supporters behalf.
Back in 84 I turned up at 4.30 in the afternoon and paid on the door to watch the EUFA cup final but even back then I never got to Wembley because I wasn't able to get to the ticket office at 9 O'clock Monday morning. So I can't really complain if now the priority is given to somebody who has spent more time and money than me at The Lane over the last few years.
What really pisses me off is when a Chelsea supporting acquiantance says he's got three tickets but he might not go because it's not such a big deal getting to the final any more. I'm very tempted to buy them but frankly I'd rather sit with Gooners.
From the Chelsea site...
"As per the club’s ticketing policy 90% of the tickets will be sold on the internet and 10% will be sold at the Box Office/Call Centre.
Supporters who visit the Box Office can purchase a maximum of 10 tickets per person and must carry all TeamCards to do so."
ahem... equ(i)librium.
Too polite to pick me up on it?
Ahhh sweet.
Why so much ag over tickets? Surely the way things are, is to be expected?
It's been the same for years. Those with the most commitment(money & time) at the front of the que, those with the least; see you in the pub.
If we win, I'm sure a good time will be had by all no matter where they are watching.
Peace.
Hey Doug,
Call me cynical, but in a, er, glass-half-full kind of way, you could always comfort yourself with the notion that those older, 300 loyalty points lot have got to die sometime - moving you further up the "food chain".
Maybe, pretending your a Chavski fan could be the solution. No that ain't gonna work - no self-respecting Spurs fan could act being a smug, glory-hunting git for an entire day.
Anyway, good luck with the ticket chase.
As for the 'never getting any closer' point, I don't think that would be the case. The bar will raise of course but I think Spurs would stick to a reasonably high benchmark which would ultimately lead to more of a clusterfuck to get tickets -- but at least you'd have the opportunity eh?
I know the 'ten year season tickets' did help finance Wembley but I don't believe they are the sole reason for it's existance, or without them it'd be a low worse. They could of got respectable builders in instead (it pains me to say it but look at the time taken to finish Wembley compared to the Emirates -- and then the ridiclous difference in cost) or just hosted semi-finals galore as well until they made it all back.
The FA are NEVER out of pocket and the only people responsible for that are the fans. We keep getting mugged for money while they just buy better suits.
I think the ag about tickets El is the amount dished out to corporates. But as you said, it's hardly a new thing. Maybe that shows up our lack of Wembley/cup final experiences? ;)
My 4 year old son asked me today, "dad, i want to go to the cup final to see uncle berby. why won't those fucking wankers let us go?"
I could only turn my head to hide the tears of sorrow welling in my eyes. How do you tell a child that not all tottenham supporters were created equal? How, I ask you, how?
shanemac
my cyber tears run in unison with your own.
coys
What made me shed a tear or two was seeing JD celebrate his goal with the scumbag c**tball.
I know he isn't the first player to move to Pompey, but the first who was a real THFC player...
Gutted with that photo i saw.
Stop bleating on!!!
If you had been buying a season ticket, for at least the last few years, you would have been able to buy a Cup final ticket!!!
Season ticket holders come first!!! Not members, so stop moaning!!!
Shanemac should stop being tight, and buy himself and his son a season ticket.
Both Shanemac and his son could have then applied for two carling cup final tickets. Not rocket science!
Dont cry for Shanemac, he should be done for child cruelty!
And where 10.16, would this magical season ticket come from? You are obviously neither a Spurs fan or read the thread...
Season tickets at Spurs make rocking horse poo look as plentiful as dodgy phone taps & bent politicians.
Waiting list... long... many, many years etc. in fact, I think you actually have to inherit them in a family will now.
Oh well, good luck to all of us... at least we're in a final!!!
Being 11,000+ on the season ticket waiting list and being told I should buy one if I wanna get a Cup Final ticket, jog on mate.
anon 11.07 and all the others
try getting a season ticket from scratch and see how far you geet, ya numpties!!
Season ticket holders must come first, and rightly so.
dannyboy sounds like a newbie!!
Dannyboy is in his 4th decade and been supporting the glorious Lilywhites since 1973. I remeber paying £1.80 to stand on the 'Shelf' for every game; no categories back then. Hardly a newbie. So there!
