Tottenham Hotspur's Berbatov's Belated Bulgarian Brace

Apologies folks for not getting this to you sooner. Harry has been remiss.

Great to see our boy doing the business. Let's hope he replicates his seemingly effortless glory at the weekend. As per my Fancast comments, we could do with smashing that lot, just to remind us all why we are here...

1. Dont think Arsenal defence will be that bad...
2. Regarding 1st goal: As long as Jenas takes those free kicks we will never ever score from corners or free kicks. The kid is worthless and Jol sucks for letting him take them. There is no spin and slice on them. Just dumb floaters that help the defence and the keeper especially. I am sory to say it again and again but as long as Jenas is a first team choice and we dont get a new or better Ginola type creative midfielder who can run at defenders and open for the forwards we will never get anywhere.
Come on u Spurs!!!!!

1. We can only hope, but you're probably right.

2. Jenas is quality. Get off the bandwagon and actually watch him. When you do, take note of his good plays instead of just his bad.

drub dont u fink TAARABT is a new ginola cos he beats players for fun but he jus needs a bit more maturity and needs 2 learn 2 release the ball quicker. KPB wil replace JENASS soon.

That 2nd one looked like a not-so-good version of the one he scored against Fulham last season in the cup.

Remember seeing Jenas run 20 yards across field vs Charlton away and win two tackles and set a move in motion and a bloke behind me went, "Fuck off, Jenas" and you realise we live in a TV highlights generation where if you don't score a screamer every game and go 'Va Va Voom' in a poxy car advert you are not playing. Suggest anyone who doesn't like Jenas goes and buys a 'Bockwurst Value Meal' at the Emirates where they belong...piss off, Goons.

drub is right, we just need a new or better ginola.

simple.

Drub and JGM - Ginola was as bad as he was good. He often gave the ball away, or held onto it too long, or made a poor pass, or had a poor attempt on goal. Not to mention his constant falling over, rolling around, moping when he tracked back and hand-on-his-hips stances instead of just getting on with it. Yes to his flair and ability, but no fucking way to his attitude.

Mental - Jenas is berated because of the over-hype the press laid on him a few years back, claiming him as England's next big thing, then beating him with the same 'over-reacting-at-a-mistake' criticism stick they're now beating Robinson with.

Although the positive hype about Jenas has dropped like a lead balloon in the last year or 2, the negative criticism balloon is obviously helium-filled.

I thought Gerrard had a shocker last night by his standards. He missed tackles and gave the ball away far too much. But not a peep from pretty much anyone. And yes I know he wasn't 100% match fit. My point is if that was Jenas, he'd have been castrated by the press and fans alike.

Go figure.

I wish they'd shown the first goal a few more times, I nearly missed the sixth replay.

Who is this fucking guy who just says "idiot" on every comment page?

I cant work out who's a yid on here and who ain't sometimes.
Gooners get on your own blog and stop mouthing off cos as soon as you get to the lane your all too quick to sit down with your hands under your arses whispering to each other. Show some balls or piss off back to the faggot farm!!

What's the bay rocking motions all about? Is Berbatov pregnant? Is he actually a dual gender reincarnation of the god Berbhavatova? Could he be in the process of reproducing himself tenfold and thus securing his football legacy of a team of Berbatov's which is the Lord's request on earth? I shall consult the verses.

I think that all those who criticise JJ the whole time are not watching games live. He works like a cnut, pardon my french. Granted he is not in the same league as the top midfielders in the prem, but he is by far the best we have in his position so get off his back. Everyone who is touting KPB, have you been to all the reserves games/ warm ups and seen his performances. I hope he's as good as you say, then JJ might have some competition. I havn't seen that much of him so can't say whether he deserves a start or not. Maybe you can tell me? Taarabt is definately someone I'd put on the bench to change the game if we're losing (god forbid!) cat amongst the pigeons, but his final ball is still poor, which is to be expected from someone of his years. He still gives the fans and players a boost though and I reckon won us the wet spam game. I might be wrong but when we have used attacking subs it tends to work better for us than throwing on an extra defender?

If anyone would, Sydney, Kenwood.

Shelf16 has it right... Attack via subs is the way forward.

More from shelf16, please.

I'd like to dispel what seems to have become a common notion around here: not all of us who dislike Jenas's play are Tottenham neophytes. Some of us are simply sick of seeing him make a constructive contribution once every five games knowing that it will be enough for Jol to justify keeping him in the starting lineup for the next four. Would it kill Jol to drop him for one match so the idea occurs to JJ that maybe, just maybe, he's not quite pulling his weight out there and might actually be doing more harm than good. He's deadweight in the midfield at this point.

Don't get me wrong, if Jenas scores the game winner against the scum of this earth, I will be the first to admit that I was wrong and I'll build a shrine in his honour at my house.

im a tottenham fan so dont start slating me calling me the scum... but people need to start getting of jenas' back, i agree he could be a bit more consistent, but i'd rather him over anyone else we have so far, i think him and huddlestone, at this moment in time, are our best options, maybe kpb will come in and prove he should start, but that hasn't happened yet, and if and when it does then im sure jol will recognise it.

this is the bit thats gonna start alot of blind yids going mad, our weak link, and the reason we concede so many goals is robbo. as much im confident when it comesa to shot stopping and the ball at his feet (which i think he's probally in the best 2 0r 3 in the world), how often do you see him get caught in no mans land when it comes to crosses? or put it like this, when was the last time robbo dived through a group of players to claim a cross? i can't remember... however, i can remeber one big mistake he made against the scum a couple of years ago, he came out to punch, pires scored, remember? oh yeah, what about last season, league cup, came out... why? we need a new goalkeeper... and for those who will saying he's coming back to best form... yeah, he probally is, but untill he sorts out his decision making and dealing with crosses and commanding his area, he will never be good enough for tottenham.

Anonymous said...

Harry, any chance of a different angle on the first? Couldnt really get a handle of how it went in.

Drub, I think our midfield is shaping up nicely. Bale has looked very impressive, Huddlestone can pick a lovely pass, Taarabt certainly has match-winning characteristics, Jenas has an engine and an eye for goal, Lennon has rocket heels, zokora is the fittest (in a sporting sense) man on earth, Malbranque is a very very tidy footballer so i disagree completely. We have loads of cration in there. If anything we are probably missing an enforcer type player.

Yes Ginola was awesome. He's gone, move on.

Berbas 2nd was like his goal against Roma for Leverkusen. His ball control is absolutely off the hook.
I hope we don't grab a last minute equaliser and celebrate like we've won the fcuking game like last time. And half the people who are slating Jenas will be licking his arse after the next wonder goal he scores and saying about how great he is. Personally if I had the option of playing someone who jogs around aimlessly and does fcuk all evey game but bags ten a season, or doing without it, I know what I'd choose...

The coverage of the 1st goal was on the patchy side & I've memo'd the editing suite in relation to this, explaining the need for greater detail in future.

Was it a header? Did it touch in off the post? Did it actually go in?
We'll never know if we have to rely on this type of oldy worldy Zapruda footage...

I think that, at the second goal Berbatov was off-side. But who care, when the opponents were Luxembourg. So, Goons is another story and I can't waith until Saturday. Let's to hope for the best for us. COYS!
