Tottenham At Fulham VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS

What a shambles. I stand by the fact that Fulham are awful and we ought to beat them home and away as a matter of course.

Positives? Bale really does make me happy. I was behind him signing for us and he really is earning his keep. That goal was nothing short of brilliant.

Glad Berbatov scored. That should keep her happy for a while.

Here's the first three goals.

And here's the second half.

Our tactics really needs to be looked at. Jol got it wrong at Sunderland and Everton and got it wrong for the last 15 minutes or so. Fulhams strength is their attack and our weak point is defence. Except they have a worse defense and we have a better attack. What did we do - we played to their strength and our weakness. Why just did not carry on playing as we did for the first 75 minutes - who knows. There are many, many instances of this in the last few years under Jol. Two seasons ago we had this last minute goal often. Time for Jol to start playing for a win.

Typical Spurs, we don't know when we've won and try to win all over again. I just cant wait until we've got our team back with 4 at the back with Chim, Daw, Kab, Bale and Ledley in the holding Defence positon! MAKE IT HAPPEN JOL!!!!!

Anonymous said...

7.33 You're dreaming mate, Ledders is out and when he returns it'll only be for a few weeks before he gets injured again. We need to buy in some class and get shot of shite like Rocha.

any1 notice wenever sum1 loses dere marker n scores egenst us hu the defender generaly is?

i am and always thought i'd be the biggest jol fan..... today i saw awful tactics that cost us once again. how many more times are we gonna try defend our lead then fcuk up coz a lucky goal? bolloxs bad tactics negative play, 3-1 up why not fiish em? jol has no bollox gutted i paid the money to watch that shit!!!!

Anonymous said...

jol gets on my tits, again he's blaming everything but himself,"we need to defend better " well thats a new one isnt it? 1, everyone that has ever watched spurs regualy knows that we are rubbish at sitting there and defending leads so why do it , ther was no need we'd pissed on them all game whats so differant to the last 10 mins , we could of scored a couple more goals with the space theyd of left pushing on , but no lets have no outlet ,bring on another def and make it the alamo! they could of been defending the last 10mins but jol always has to give the other team a go and hand them the initiative
2 if the players are rubbish at defending Throw ons ,set pieces, surely mr jol, you are the coach ,what have you been doing for the last 2 years? stop blaming the players and look at yourself, id say n sort it out , if not he will be gone and ther will be nothing the blind little jolly baby fans can do about it, n we might be able to get somewhere, fuckin sick of him, i go to every game and i know im in the minority but i hope n pray the board also see this shit happen time and time again

Yet another failure to close people down properly. Smertin had way too much time to shoot. Same as last week with Nani. How many deflected shots have we conceded in the last year or so?

The glaring weakness though is in goal. Robinson is finished at Premiership level. Barely a game has gone by since the Croatia mess up (ironically not really his fault) without one of his mistakes resulting in a goal. Too far off his line for the third. Looks like he was captain when Keane went off. Unbelievable.

Remember when Fergis dropped Leighton for the FA Cup final. Time for BMJ to be as brave or brush up his CV.

Anonymous said...

at 3.1 up would wenger ,moanio or fergie, benitez crapped themselves and brought on an extra defender? jol thinks he's managing someone like wigan and much more of this he will be!

Anonymous said...

i'm a big Jol fan but seriously.. if Liverpool can push for a 6-0 win why the f**k can't we?

I didnt even see the game but at 3-1 up surely we could of pushed for 4 or 5

sanchez after todays game :It's like a James Bond film where you think, why doesn't the villain kill him and then eventually he comes back to bite them," said Sanchez.

"We went brave when they went defensive and sometimes bravery wins the day. Today it won the day.

"Our decision making was better than Spurs' today and it proved decisive."
This translated reads: Spurs were a million light years better than us today , but luckilly for us they have a crap negative manager that out of no where gave us a chance and we took it, sanchez wont come up against as many mugs as martin jol this year

was out today, dont know the circumstances, but again we snatch defeat (or as well as) from the jaws of victory.

there is one reason and one reason only for this, complete lack of bollocks.

We will never ever achieve anything with this current team no matter how good the personnel, because in order to do so we will need to beat teams in big games.

running scared of a Fulham.....for fuck sake.

City, Everton, Newcastle and Spam will overtake us this season and we will return to being a midtable outfit with no aspirations at all. And we deserve it.

Anonymous said...

Jol must be sacked right now, otherwise we will remain rubbish - even after spending 35-40M on new players.

He has not got a clue on how to win games. I really cannot see where the next 3 points are comming from.

The Board should carry on doing what the were found out 2 weeks ago.

They should bring in Jurgen Klinsman, before things get any worst.

Why was Dawson fit enough for the bench but not playing? Why is Bale playing in midfield when we bought him as a full back? Yeah great goal and all that but Jol should be concentrating on geting his best back four used to each other and today's game was made for Taraabt.

Anonymous said...

dont blame jol.

he has been promoting negative football for the last 3 years but no one gave a fuck, so dont whinge now when it is too late. you wanted him, you have been singing his name, now support him.

Lawrie Sanchez pointed out how fuckoff negative his tactics were in his post match interview - it took him one game, its taken you dopey fuckwits 3 years

Anonymous said...

It is not about the tactics and substitutions of the last 15 minutes. It is about a failure to recognise that we have a poseur of a goalkeeper who is completely shot (pardon the pun) and that there is hardly any will to win in tghe team

Anonymous said...

jolsgonemental, the players were loving it they were enjoying it from where i was and were even starting to take the piss a bit and toy with fulham, the team went negative as always when mj went negative ,he had no need to change anything just keep playing for 10 mins, maybe score again! he brought defoe on this week coz he only gave him 5mins or whatever against derby, which is like when refs try and even up decisions,or shutting the door after the horse as bolted! then they put healy on which made jol shit a brick and bring dawson on ,which in turn gave everyone the lets hold on attitude that we always fail at, if jol shows some balls the team might

Anonymous said...

Disagree. I blame Jol almost entirely. He fell into the job by chance, having previously been a grade 2 manager in Holland. The Board had the right idea a couple of weeks ago. They just went about it in a callous and underhand way but they must have been seeing his shortcomings at first hand. Now they have to act.

Anonymous said...

jolsgonemental dont worry you aint alone ive been saying this for 2 yrs to anyone that would listen in the parklane! its like being stuck in strange nightmare where your the only one that can see it and the majority just carry on singing and loving him regardless , i feel like some fucked up freedom fighter wanting the best for spurs, his tactics baffle me ,he loses every vital game and althogh he prob a nice bloke ,it takes more than his big teddy bear persona to appease me, i dont want to go out with the bloke ! i want him to do the business for spurs on the pitch , but for at least the last year and a half its been the same mistakes over and over again and he never learns! we got the best group of players in ages and there are good managers out there, but maybe everyone has been brain washed by conman jols constant negativity, his playing down of our chances and the occasional crap joke. He was only an assistant maybe we could keep him as one to keep the jollybabies sweet

no , now its too late.

May was the time. New manager along with the new players to start the season.

I said it back then and was roundly whinged at. It appears you have all caught up with me. welcome aboard, but you missed the boat, so shut up.

Oh but if only I was running the show, a true visionary.

You have to support him. Its a shit manager or no manager.

Anonymous said...

Not sure if it is significant but my mate just saw David Pleat in Tottenham High Road

Anonymous said...

bert the yiddo, I wholeheartedly agree.

However it is too late now. The current squad could easily, in the hands of a Mourinho or Ferguson, be challenging the top 2 - of this I have no doubt. Arsenal and Liverpool are no better than us man for man.

Instead we will finish 6-7th and said squad will be slowly but surely dismantled as the big name players head of for champs league football and the 'new money' clubs overtake us.

Excuse me, HH:

Keep her happy? her? who the hell are you talking about?Or are you insinuating Berby is a she?

55% of the possession, 14 corners, 14 attempts on goal with 3 goals and twice in a two goal lead but in the end just one poxy point.

Sorry Martin but we have suffered enough. We are clearly not going to be anywhere but mid table anyway so I say make the chnage now.

Anonymous said...

Jolsgonemental's last scenario is spot on and that is why we cannot afford to wait. Accept we will go nowhere this season so get the manager sorted now and at least hopefully end the season on a high.

Anonymous said...

jolsgonemental i think its basically a case of we had such bad managers before and didnt have the setup then that we do now where we generally do have good players and get good players, that everyone was crying out for someone even half decent to take the club forward and thats what they got someone half decent hooray hooray the trouble now is that we need someone great, the jolly fans go on about best in years but we have been constently good with transfers for the last few years un earthing some real gems, ok there will always be one or two that dont work out but even them we seem to sell on for good prices in the main. you couldnt of said that for most of the managers we had before, they never had the talent we have now and around that time we was consistantly crap in the market buying big name has been players here and there and raiding the local old people homes for players with no sell on value or room to improve, jol was in the right place at the right time and has benefitted greatly by having someone constantly buying players that thank god will be good for spurs and not just a quick fix for any manager other wise we would now have a team of geriatrics put together by jol, we improved our general standard of player year after year but now we have outgrown jol imo and need a top class coach to take us on , the standard of some of our players now aint far off what fergie had when he had a lot of young talent come through his youth team ,look what he(a top manager) did with them and then look at what jol does with ours

we're already doing better than this time last year and where did we end up last season?

5th in the league (again) but this time with 2 quarter-finals and a semi-final under our belt (both domestic cups being won by the top 2 and uefa we lost out to the eventual winners anyway)

get a f'king grip people.. what makes you think Klinsmann would do better? Santini was 'sposed to be amazing and where did he get us?

Look we are not properly defending set plays.

That clearly tells all of us that Jol has lost the plot and the respect of the players.

We need a new manager (Jurgen Klinnsmann) who will not make stupid subs like Jol

i.e taking off Keane who was playing great is clearly insane.

Anonymous said...

There needs to be an urgent inquiry as to why are are shite.

Its just not good enough, are looking like are laughing stock. Need the german (Jurgen Klinsmann) work ethic!!!!

Anonymous said...

It is the same old tottenham throwing away leads but we outplayed Fulham for most of the game we created chance after chance. Everybody in the team, apart from Bale and Berby, need to be told if you get the ball and you can see the goal just have a shot!!(Their keeper was terrible) Jenas and Keane were trying to walk the ball in the back of the net on a couple of occasions and Malbranque hit the post with an open goal.

I think Jol will be gone soon, unfortunately, not that I don't disagree with his decisions some times but he has been very very badly treated by our board, who have not delivered on their promises to us either, with their failings they should be looking at going themselves. Funnily enough at a much inflated share price!!

Maybe jol should go? But the spurs fans at the game today didn't seem to think that was the case until possibly the equaliser went in.

The board have to be accountable as well, they give a guy £40m to spend and then try to arrange a replacement 3 games into the season? How inept are they?

One of the posters on this site said 'I can't beleive he brought a defender on to defend a 3-1 lead, Wenger, Mourhino, Fergie and Benitez wouldn't have done that' Yes they would but their defenders would have kept it solid but ours didn't.

There were a few problems today 1. not shooting 2.Not being able to keep the lead 3. in the last 10-15 minutes defending too deep and inviting the pressure but all in all we played well and just threw it away as we do quite often.

Anonymous said...

dont know bout klinsmann . but we cant carry on like this . to all the pro jol people he is doing the same mistakes over and over and over the board need to be brave and stick with ther initial feelings bout jol and get rid asap, the irony is as well that the people who think they are so loyal etc to jol are the ones holding the club back,r they martin jol fans or spurs fans ? ive given him a fair unbiased shot but he constantly makes the same mistakes! these jol fans that might of affected us geting Ramos are fools, they will say but whats he done in all these years etc well he's got better as a coach all these years to become a great one , he is a winner and has one things recently so is in the groove right now if he had done what he has done a couple of years earlier he would prob be managing chelski now instead of moanio! not only that but he would of suited us perfectly as a name to draw players but also as a brave inovative attack minded coach, ive watched seville quite a bit n you dont see them trying to shut up shop! so thank for nothing fellow spurs fans most of you will all probably realise a year too late! as for other Top clubs wanting jol ...yeah right funny how ajax n dutch manager come up every year when he wants a pay rise! he go to wigan or someone else with crap players and he will get shown up as the fraudster that he is
bert the yiddo

Anonymous said...

i doubt the top 3 clubs would of put a defender on , they would of scored another couple on the break ,sanchez would of known this and at 3.1 would prob be looking at damage limitation but thats the differance a top manager makes, with jol in charge everyone knows they are in with a shout, because if we are winning with 10mins to go jol always brings on more defenders ,takes away are attacking threat , which allows the other team to throw more strikers and people forward ,simple really . bty

martin jol has the un canny knack of turning 3 pnts into 1 and 1 into none , great manager , i love martin jol martin jol loves me, he maybe fucking shiiite, but leave our martin be!

Scored another couple on the break??

Most of Chelsea, Scum & Man U's games are won by the odd goal.

Hence the scums favourite song under 'the man in the raincoats' reign. '1-0 to the Scum(Ar**nal)' when they were winning titles and we were a lot lower than we have been in the last 2 seasons.

Any manager who is 3-1 down is going to go Shit or Bust and bring on an attacker for a defender, what has he got to lose??
Any manager who is 3-1 up will bring on a defender or holding midfielder (to attempt) to preserve the lead.

That is basic football surely?

i bet all the ppl slaggin mj @ the moment will be nowhere to be found in a few weeks!!! we must remain positive, 3 goals away is rly good going. without is always our achilles heel. it shud daws/king in defence n kaboul defensive midfield.

Anonymous said...

man in the raincoat is goin back a bit! for me chelski fair enough they play that bland crap style of football, but when the goons won the league they did by playing attacking football or united last year won by playing positive attacking football , not clinging on to a 3 1 lead at fulham! there is 2 ways of looking at it ok ,1 like you say is to change your shape ,take off a midfielder or striker and bring on a defender and say ok were stand strong and you wont score, this is the negative one(which jol and spurs try to do badly)if this is your tactics you'd of thought 2 yrs on the training ground we'd be good by now but alas!2) dont change anything, keep your momentum, cohesion and shape try to control the game and take advantage of the gaps they leave at the back, this is the possitive way to see the game out, this keeps the players in a possitive frame of mind, keeps your outlets so you dont just keep giving the other team another go and means you dont have players running on moving players around to other popsitions and potentially causing confusion, so for me Jol needs to be more POSITIVE bty

Anonymous said...

Get off the fuckking bandwagon people. I don't know how anyone can blame Jol for this loss. Yes, maybe defoe didn't do squat, but the extra defender was not a bad idea considering our defensive history - even though it didn't help. And for those of you shitting on robbo, try coming up with an original fucking thought - he made a couple great saves, and could do nothing on any of those goals. Just like the deflection last week on a shot he otherwise had covered, the second goal today was complete luck, and the third wasn't much more. It not like he really placed that bicycle kick. And steed hits the post - we couldn't buy good luck if it were young potential. If i'm pissed at anyone it JJ being in alone on the goalie twice and not even getting a shot off and the fact that there is a constant urge to do a little to much and not that killer instinct to score and put the game away. yes i was gutted by todays outcome, but jumping on jol is just becoming the fucking sheep the board and papers want in the stands to help stir things up and keep us from succeeding. Offer your support or shut the fuck up, you are no better than all the press you bitch about.

I've been trying to hang behind Jol - but today he got it all wrong tactically. The thing everybody is forgetting is that it was 3-2 when he put the 3rd defender on.

It was the move at 3-1 where Jol f'd up badly. The move to make was to take Steed off and push Robbie to the right (if he wanted to bring Defoe on). This was by far Steed's worst game in his ~4 years in the EPL - he was killing us on offense with his constant turnovers. If we had Lennon instead of Steed, we win 6-2.

I don't know what Jol is watching during our games - he never seems to have a clue which players are doing well, and which ones are shite. So, Jol takes off the one player that is running the offense and putting a ton of pressure on Fulhams midfielders. I think it was only like 2 mins after Robbie came off that they scored their 2nd.

Where I'm really concerned moving forward is with our left flank. It is complete garbage on defense. They were giving Fulham 50+ yards of free space all game. HH, I know your falling for Bale, but he is got to stop backing the f*k up and start pressuring at midfield. Robbie and Tommy are pressuring hard defensively up the middle at midfield, but the hard work was for nothing, as Fulham would switch it to their right and have acres of free space. I mean, cmon, we got destroyed on our left by Simon Davies and Smertin, the worst midfield tandom in the EPL.

JGE - you have another in your camp now. You were right along, he should have been replaced this Summer.

Martin jol don't have nearly as much love for the fans as they do to him! if the bloke had honour he would of left the minute the pictures came out in the press, but no he's hanging on in there for his 4mil compo aint he ,just like his ajax rumours that him and a mate have pulled off on spurs for the last 2 yrs geting him a pay rise! the blokes a fucking con man who was just in the right place, with his bill nic speech when he joined and course it aint ever his fault always the players that have got to "learn" well i wish he'd fucking teach em coz they keep doin the same things! he's a blagger of the highest order and for that i commend him, i just wish it wernt my mates and fellow spurs fans being mugged off!

Sack the fucking board for undermining Jol, destablilising the club and generally just wanting to line their pockets.

With the attitude of people on here, no doubt Jol will get the sack, and we'll end up with some Francis/Graham/Hoddle/Gross/Pleat/Santini crap.

Well we'll appreciate Jol when he's gone. That's the way isn't it?

Jesus, no wonder we haven't won anything worth it's salt for ages with fans like this.

Someone said Jol got the job by default, and is a 2nd rate manager.

Yes the one who took us from relegation staring us in the face for a couple of seasons, to a couple of 5th place finishes, our best ever in the premier league.

The one who didn't jump ship for money like Arnesen.

Yes I'm gutted at the crap start to the season. Just like I was last season. I'm gutted we bought a shitty defender like Rocha who we now have to rely on. I'm gutted Jol felt forced to bring on Defoe for Keane (and whatever he says, we all know why that was done)

Sacking the manager after 4 games? Sounds like something a tinpot club would do, oh yeah, historically, how have the clubs done who have sacked their managers this quickly into the new season. May as well get ready for the next manager then, and another 2 years of 'we need time to develop', then sack that manager, then repeat ad infinitum.

leave jol be. like it or not he is our manager, so while hes in charge get behind him. slagging him off at every oppertunity will do no good. at the moment the worst thing he seems to be doing is running down black cats and walking under ladders.

we have had plenty of crap spells in the past and we will have plenty of them again. when we beat fulham 4-0 last year, people were calling for his head after a bad run of 3 defeats - then look what happened.

im not saying he is perfect, he has his flaws but hes a damn sight better than most other managers out there. last season it took us until mid december to win away, and to score away from home - from open play. we will turn it around, we will make eaurope, we will beat l'arse in a few weeeks

so tell me mystic meg, how do you know that the next manager will be crap i accept they might be but by the same token they could be better than jol and take us one step on. you dont know!"Best in years" Has jol done this all himself? bearing in mind it was already on the way with the change of system for the club(which btw is how jol got the job)with arnescum improving our whole squad in 1 season then a level again with commoli our squad has improved every year , the managers you mention didnt have the players at there disposal that jol has so it aint a fair assesment really as levy totally changed the clubs set up, spurs was run so badly before, are you telling me a top manager couldnt come in and do something with the players we have now? two 5th finishes but the first one we lost with negative tactics from jol long before the lasagne incident which actualy took the pressure of jol(a big lead over the goons all season ,thrown away, forgotten) 2nd one we finally get a grip back on the league with a great late run to grab 5th, but only after throwing away leads in the latter stages of all the cups ,again jol negativity , funny selections and subs played a part

Harry Hotspur said...

I don't know what annoys me more.

Ainsley Harriott or
watching Jol repeating the same mistakes.

At least I can turn the telly off/over when 'Ains' is on.

But I don't expect to want to switch off a Spurs game we've scored 3 goals in.

Jol is dillusionsal. He and that oafish
Trainspotter Hughton are so absorbed in 'tactics' they can't see the obvious.

You lead a mediocre team like Fulham by two, you finish them.

This isn't figure skating. You don't go home with a 5.2 or a 5.6 and mull it over... this is football and what you bloody well do is get stuck in and do the job on the other lot.

Tottenham's back 'four' are in disarray. Riddled with injury and inability.

All the top four/top five talk in the world and the signings of Berba & Bent all go out the window when you can't defend for toffee.

I get whined at by uninformed 'staunch' tossers when I say it, but King is gone. Crocked.

So when Spurs stop dreaming and put a proper rearguard plan together, then I can indulge Jol's tactics.

Until then, the likes of the sub today is oversophisticated cobblers.

Chelsea can put the shutters up.

So can Man Utd and the Pool.

Newsflash.

Tottenham aren't good enough to.

We need to bin chaf like Rocha and Ekotto and start spending where it's needed most.

How good is Bale? Answer very, but lots of clubs have decent left wingers...

It's almost insane that this club continue to trade with such abysmal buying policy. Look at Liverpool. They have actively sought to have two players in each position. We have sought to defy logic.

Benitez said when they were 3 up, the aim was to enjoy it and score more. Jol & Hughton thought they were facing Barca and sent on a just fit defender.

You don't beat Fulham by playing chess with them. You keep scoring and wipe the idiots out.

i don't agree the new club structure is that great. arnesen bought a lot of crap in as well (parmarot, davis, routledge, etc) and didn't give Jol a balanced squad. Commolli brought in Rocha, Murphy, Lee and now we have a LB as a LW, and no alternative, and he's also 18. We blow 16m on yet another striker. I like Bent, but why is Defoe still there - we don't need 4 prima donnas, 2 moaning about not playing.

Saying we could get a worse or better manager is not a winning statement to me. It's like - why should I stop playing Roulette - how do you know 21 won't come up next time. You really think Klinsmann will come to manage us? No way, dream on.

Which top manager would come to us. Is our squad that great? Better than the top 4? You're telling me Hudds and Jenas are worldbeaters? Malbranque? Lee? Rocha? You've all been believing the hype too much I'm afraid.

We spent 40m. So did Sunderland. And a host of other clubs. The board sold Carrick from under Jol. They gave him Bent when he wanted a LW (granted Bale has potential, but I can;t see him being in th 1st 11 of any other top side).

Jol's not had King more or less the majority of the time he's been the manager. Gardner premiership quality? no one will even pay 2m for the guy. Will King ever return to full fitness? Who knows, but what cover did we have for him in that time?

It's time to get real. No 'top class' manager will join us now. Our board are so unprofessional no one would touch them with a bargepole. And they know it as well.

I blame Comoll and , Ian Wright he went public to say that Defoe should play....

Defoe contribute nothing....

All of you who called Defoe to play should be ashamed...he is the catalyst of the downfall today. Jol did'nt want to subtitute Keane....but he want to please comolli and Defoes fan

the "celebrating 125 glorious years" banner just feels sarcastic now.

tainio should be coming on the pitch in the 75th minute or so to maintain the pressure in the midfield, not another defender under any circumstances other than an injury. he may not have much in the way of creativity, but fuck me he'll harry and harrass, tackle and pass. i thought kaboul and rocha played well today all things considered. i won't waste time on jenas because he's a lost cause. plus he'd have to kill someone for martin jol to drop him from the side.

i don't want to hear about how much we spent this summer and how good we should be because of it. we spent 16.5 mil on a 3rd choice striker. keano and berbatov are picking up where they left off last year; they're combining well, the chemistry is there. kaboul is playing well and so is bale, but the rest of the money went to projects who can't realistically make much of an impact right now. taarabt is not going to swoop in and save us this year, to think otherwise is foolish.

i agree with some of what you say about the system at first it was totally what was needed we were a shambles shelling out top doe for flops like rebrov n filling are team with old boys that were past there sell by date and were not going to improve, so we needed wholesale chang e and although pamarot et al seem shit now most of them were better than what we had at the time and we had no probs selling them, there will always be players that dont make the grade(ya cant make an omelette withought breaking a few eggs)but the squad improved and has done ever since! if you would of walked up to me at the park lane the game after hoddle had just been sacked and we had pleaty for the season and said to me in 3yrs we would probably be one of the teams with the most potential in the league(wouldnt of been any point in naming players ,coz they would of been un knowns)i would never of believed you so the system aint that bad!I agree thatwe might be far off at least 3 of the top 4 squads but outside of the top 4 we are pretty high up the list with like i say prob the best potential given the age of our players to break in there, so i would imagine were a better prospect than most if you want to be in the prem lge!I agree our board did mug it by getting caught but thats all(these things go on all the time)and also maybe we should change our policy of buying a bit by still picking up good youngsters when poss but trying to be a bit more horses for courses as wholesale changes are no longer needed ,just get players we need.
one last thing do you think arnescum, comolli can just go and sign real real class when we not chmp lge? like you say when arnescum came we were more like relegation candidates so was pamarot n that such bad buys? we do well enough with our policy i think for now at least.
it takes a great manager to take great potential and make them winners,"you cant win nothing with kids" well jol cant anyway!

And btw just assuming a new manager would be worse than Jol aint a winning argument to me!

don't blame robbo. don't blame jol. blame jenas and huddlestone. everyone else did their job. fulham's first was just a great header, no way robbo could get to it. fulham's second was due to a lack of pressure on smertin and he just got bloody lucky. the third was the kind of freak goal that just happens when you don't lock down the fucking game and maintain control. huddlestone and jenas were the centre midfielders; it is in their job description to at least try to dictate the tempo of the game. they were absent for the last 20 minutes of play while fulham were tripping all over in the excitement of how much of the ball they were seeing.

whatever, after this year, when berbatov is off frolicking for some champions' league team and we become an ordinary team again, we'll look back on these last two years and say, "we walked with the Gods, but then they shat on us" or something like that.

I agree with a lot of what you said in your last post.

Totally agree that we used to buy old lost causes like Sherwood (marking and passing to the invisible man etc), and yes when Hoddle left I thought it wasn't going to get better, and Pleat just almost made me jump off a bridge.

But Jol took Parmarot etc and turned the side around - something Santini was unable to do, a supposed world class manager.

He then took a side very slightly improved to almost 4th place, an major achievement (comapre the squad we had vs Arsenal who scraped past us on the last day for 4th), then had the heart of his midfield ripped out, the player he built the team around, and given....Zokora....ffs Commolli

Last season he had to change the way we played to make up for that. Hence the bad start imho. Jol must be thinking 'what are these idiots gonna throw at me next'.

With all this mess you think we can keep Berbatov? I think we all know what will happen at the end of this season.

If the board lacked confidence in Jol, July was the time to act. They should know that from before, when we got stuck with pleat for half a season....but I don't agree with them.

Now they've undermined the whole team and the media are on our backs, meaning every move at the club is scrutinised to the n'th degree. Muppets the lot of them. Kelmsley is just embarrassing, Spurs fan or not. He should crawl back to wherever he came out from.

And other poster's comments on why defoe was brought on, you're spot on mate. Maybe Mido was not bullshitting when he said players are picked on poitics at the club.

Does this make it untenable for Jol? Yes probably. He's probably going to leave one way or another.

I just think that we'll regret it, as we regretted Burkinshaw leaving, but maybe only after a few years, when we realise he has done well with what he's had to deal with, and what he's been given to work with. I'm sure he's made mistakes, but really, I think he's a good manager, with the club at heart.

coz of the system it aint all doom n gloom the future looks promising with or withought jol or berba. Kaboul looks like he wont just be the u21 capt for france good player at 21yrs.Bale at 18yrs looks impressive and for his country too(nxt giggs?)dawson 23or24yrs solid, defenders get better with age like a fine wine ,could be great!Huddleston 21 ish? still a lot to learn but again should get better with age/experiance, hoddlesque vision, passing potential,Lennon 20yrs Blistering pace, can score, can beat most full backs one on one ,again at this young age can only get better as he improves his positioning, final ball etc, went from an unknown leeds player to England player since joining as did dawson from forest, then there is tarrabt who seems blesed with scary skill if developed right could be a great player, i cant comment on prince as i havnt seen him play but he is highly regarded so i dont think its all doom and gloom, if berba leaves be bad but at the moment we would still have Defoe,Bent,Keane n they could score ya enough goals i reckon. then obviously even younger ones like Rose, peckart, dervitte. so in a nut shell star footballers arnt put on earth by aliens they all start somewhere and i'm convinced that maybe we have a couple in our ranks. The future is looking good jol or not!

Harry, I love your last line, great quote for your home page.

You missed the boat on a couple of other points -

The 3rd defender was put on AFTER we had already given away the 2nd goal and when we were on our heals big time. If he was put on at 3-1 then maybe I'd be agreeing with you. We definitely have the talent to "put up the shutters" like the Big 4 - we just don't have the proper coaching. We could have easily shut Fulham down at 3-1, if not for 3 coaching blunders:

1) Taking off our most influential and inspirational player at a time when we were dominating possession
2) Failing to take off the player (Lee) that was killing us defensively. No way we lose with Bale at LB and Robbie at LM the last 20 mins
3) Failing to make an adjustment to counter Fulham's attack. Kaboul was rock solid all game, there were no quality chances against on his side all match - when Fulham were constantly exposing our LB and LM, we really needed Kaboul's help on that side.

its a bit catch 22 in the way that we didnt get mugged over like we did with judus and got good money for him ,but he was a player that we didnt miss til he was gone , i also agree that zakora wernt a good enuff replacement, i'm not disputing jol has done well he clearly has, but its the same mistakes now over again with him and he doesnt change ,thats just my opinion! i totaly agree that if they were gona do it they should of pre season and they have acted like a bunch of cowboys, but my thoghts about him come from shefield utd away last year was the first time i questioned his tactics and the cup games last year and the leads we lost just backed up my thoughts, you say bout comolli but in the real world it was prob anescum and jol that undermined and ousted santini, he walked he wernt sacked ,n had got us some good results until a game (funny enuf) at fulham which i went to where it was clear that the players wernt playin for him strange that! nxt thing jol has the job! he lost his power when his mate frank did the dirty, but maybe what goes around comes around lol thats it, maybe santini is like comolis french mate n he's getin revenge

There are some deranged people on here. I've said it before... Robbo is a good shot stopper generally, but some of the positions he takes are plain bad, he flaps at crosses... he does not give his defenders much to be confident about. Bring in Cerny. Enough of the BS, Robbo is not Englands No. 1 and he probably should not be ours either.

As for Jol, I will question his tactics, again. Once again we turn over a two goal lead... once again he makes baffling decisions. Keane was outstanding. Don't bring on that little selfish future Sol Campbell Judas because he has spat the dummy out about playing time. Waste of space. We should have sold him. Keeping four "top class" strikers happy is a hard task at the best of times...

Chimbonda falls asleep again... resulting in Fulhams 1st goal. Why is he so highly rated again, remind me? Does he have ADD? Should have let Chelski get him. Fcuk Malbranque too. Was he in a timewarp today? I think he thought he was a Fulham player again, the amount of times he passed to them.

Frankly I like BMJ the man. I have to conclude with some conviction now, I do not like BMJ the manager. As the first poster said, time to stop this "let's shut up shop" routine once we are ahead. We are not well enough equipped to defend this way. We just get pushed deeper and deeper back and concede every bloody time we adopt this tactic.

Time for BMJ to adopt the "attack is the best form of defence" policy. If it was working for the first hour or so... and to the clown who reckons when the other team puts on another attacker you need another defender that is bollox.

Perhaps if Klinsmann gets his US backers to buy out ENIC we can have a legend to take the club further, and they will get rid of Jol, Hughton and Comolli and the current board. They'll all take their profits and be happy, and we'll be starting over again...

And I for one, won't be shocked if it happened, and wouldn't be shedding any tears right at this point in time. I'm sick of seeing Spurs shoot themselves in the foot during games...

Anonymous said...

that wernt bmj himself on here trying to defend his bring a defender on approach?lol the stupid thing is jol just puts strikers on when we are losing and gets robbo to bang it up there, the other team dont usualy crap emselves tho they keep there shape and organization and totally nulify us to utter clueless proportions, even warnock managed that gainst jol last year , he's starting to get found out more now tho ,he should go now while the mojority still like him coz its only a matter of time before they realise that this shit won't ever change with him in charge, unless of course they are happy with spurs being percieved as a laughing stock and a load of chokers

Anonymous said...

oh you said wanker you must be right!Hard luck story again eh? your the fucking moron mate! no ones that unlucky, we ask for it by always going negative and sitting back! thats jols fault. If he didnt want them to do that he would of stopped them long before now, he wernt out on the touch line today pushing them up, always just unlucky tho yeah me ol mucka? I'm ashamed to be associated with a spurs fan that can't actually put an argument together! but as you called people a few names i'm totally with ya "jol til i die".....moron!

yee???????? Paddy by any chance? would explain why you think jols ideas are good ones!

just a thought but y dont spurs go out and get a top class number 2 to work with jol, it would keep the jol lovers happy and there would also be someone there to tell him when he's being a dick(every away game at least then!)rather than yes man hughton

lot of negatives here as to be expected i guess! but you could only possibly blame robbo for the 3rd goal for being off his line! the other 2 were unsaveable - i think we played really well - but like laurie sanchez says if you dont kill the enemy off they will come back and bite u and thats what happened - the amount of chances created is a big plus though - although we only have 4 points i cant see a better team than us bar liverpoool and chelski the rest are all beatable- we will get a run soon - and when we do all you moaners willbe sucking jols cock again - fickle wankers - support your team whatever - where were we b4 jol ? ???????????? i was there watching shit game week in week out -

I'm embarrassed by the people embarrassed by the "so called Spurs fans". If Jol goes (no chance) and we had another manager like Santini that wouldn't be so bad because at least he would have the decency to admit that he couldn't do the job and leave instead of bull-shi**ing for 2 years while slowly killing off the opportunities for progress.

Anonymous said...

harry,

I think you hit the nail on the head.

Why tinker with the tactics and personel when you are strolling to a comfortable win?

Well actually I know, its Jols hamfisted attempt at proving to everyone he can keep four strikers happy, by crowbarring them all into the side at one stage or another during every game.

We dont need to show Fulham respect. We need to steamroller them. Its a mentality thing.

mental note for jol. Fulham have shit players , we have good players. stop being so fucking scared of your own shadow.#

And yes King is most definitely finished.

8.57am

I guess it all depends whether you believe our increased expectations are due to Jol raising the bar.

Or due to the fact that the manager has been provided with the most talented bunch of players in over a decade, a squad that has top 4 written all over it.

We will finish 7th now either way.

MJ brought on dafoe not because Keane was poor but because the board want dafoe to sign a new contract so show him he will get more time on the pitch and he will sign.Crap to that just win the game and let the winging players get on with it.That was a bad move taking the captain of when we were winning.Stop trying to crawl to the winning line MJ and you would finf winning games a lot easier. Liverpool showed how to do it just keep doing what you were doing before the goal and the rest is easy.If MJ had to bring on dafoe then he should have taken of marlblanque kept keane in the hole behind the strikers and kept the pressure on.I think the board missed a chance with the dafoe -shawn wright phillips thing.Let dafoe go we still have 3 strikers plus tarrabt and pekhart bad move missing out on wright phillips.MJ now knows time is short but please board try and get it right this time.MJ could take us further but it would be a long and very slow progression one forward two back three forward one back so be bold and go get Ramos or likewise but just make sure this is the right man who knows how to win a match and can outthink fergie and the special one

Anonymous said...

with the players we hv.. Francis/Graham/Hoddle/Gross/Pleat/Santini can get us to 3rd. fuck off jol. its been a year since i heard the winning mentality talk. jol dont ever learn.u just need to look a week ago how man u maintain their lead against us. they passed the ball around their MF. i dont remember van der sar huffing the ball to short man tevez. stupid stupid stupid fucking jol.

Anonymous said...

it's so funny

this time it was not the referee, but you always blame others

the truth is there's nothing new here

Jol is doing exactly the same he did last year

why should the outcome be different?

I have a feeling you'll be beaten in Cyprus.

Check on you later

Anonymous said...

There is no use looking at the last 2 years. Some clubs have made top 5 one year and relegated the next. The point is that with the investment and current players, Jol needs to up his game.

Anonymous said...

Enough is enough.
The same mistakes are being made by different players, which means it can't all be the fault of the player.
The management and coaching staff must take the can for this hopeless state of affairs

Taxi for Jol!

all said and done our midfield shuld have scored 5 between them. jenus could have scored but tried to pass it into the net. the scum do it all the time but they can defend. but i don't understand jol, why change a winning team, keane was class again and he takes him off. never mind scum next and we should be more solid in the back, get rid of that rocha he is shit

Anonymous said...

Yeah RAH RAH RAH...

I saw some real positive in this game. We'll be on a good run within three or four matches. Maybe starting with the goons.

Robbo was not in my opinion to blame for either of the two flukey goals.

COME ON YOU SPURS!
