Tottenham Hotspur: Sunderland Away Prematch Prattle

Let's get one thing straight. I was never a big fan of Keane or the 'Keane Phenomena'. I know that puts me in a minority but I just don't care. The near hysteric hoo haa over his 'Road to Damascus' conversion at Sunderland leaves me cold. Even that oaf McCarthy produced a side of part time firemen and gas-pipe fitters that were capable of promotion.

And now, armed with his new model army of next generation Republic internationals he is set to continue to 'rock the world' of the Premiership? I don't see it happening.

Sunderland played Bohemians in Dublin a few weeks back and Keano was booed. By real people opposed to fantasists wearing those godawful reversible Man Utd/Celtic scarves. By people who remember he turned his back on his country when it needed him because he had issue with the twit mentioned previously.

If any player of his profile had tarted England about like that, there would have been murders.

As for the game itself, much has been made that the home side will be more muscle than some. That isn't just patronizing - just wide of the mark.

Big Mick's side were rotten. That's a fair comment. Rotten to watch and presumably rotten to support. This gang will show great heart and resolve. They will trade on those two attributes but ultimately they will, says me, lack the finesse required. Not just for us but this league.

3-1 to the Tottenham.

Bent, Berba and Keane in that order!

COYS!

CyprusYid says... I hope you are right Harry! We need a super start to our season, and even though we seem to lose all left backs to injury, 1 - 3 is a score I would love to see as a final result! COYS !!!!

Spurs fans having a miserable ride back home tomorrow is a much more accurate assessment of the outcome of the match tomorrow. Then again, I am totally biased just like yourself.

To have a good season you are going to have to get a damm sight more points than we do.

Do we care what you think? Nothing is going to spoil our day back.

Couldn't agree more, a very overhyped management career so far. have a look over at vitalsunderland for some laffs. They say -

"we need to get results from teams like Spurs"

Sorry? Teams like Spurs? They should be happy to get draws against Fulham.

"Every club has it's scumbags"

Get yourself a decent goalkeeper, and you may just break into the top 10 next season.

Not sure I agree with you there Harry. Bent to score first? That means we'll be leaving it late as he is likely to start on the bench.

Hopefully you'll get the score right though.

Not here to get involved in juvenile squabbling - I'm a Mackem who's suffered quite a bit supporting my team especially in our last 2 non-seasons in the Premiere League. I feel you should be giving just a little more respect to Roy and Niall for what they've done for a club that was at a lower ebb than any of you Spurs fans have ever experienced. And don't go to vitalfootball for real SAFC feedback - there's only one site worth its salt and that's http://www.readytogo.net/smb - you still get idiots on there but there's some good crack (or do I have to be Oirish and say craic?) on there and other team's fans are generally well-received if they come on in the right spirit. As for the game tomorrow I'll go for 1-1 (same as the FA Cup tie when the noise at Roker Park so impressed Danny Blanchflower - I was there that day too (1962 I think). Good luck in your attempt to get into the top 4.

3-1 sounds great to me. I don't think I have ever been more excited for the start of a season. This is even with me picking Spurs to finish 6th this season (the crown is ours next season though!) - I'm so sick of the MLS and the Beckham hype and just can't wait for real football to start.

With Ledley back mid-season, and our great depth, am I out of my mind to think that Spurs can win the FA and UEFA Cups?

Great picture when you first come to the site. But what a disappointment after that. Typical cockney arrogance. Are you 14?

3.31 am Anon - Ahh, the cutting intellect of the Mackem scorned.

You liked a picture of a bus, but then I went and spoilt it all by saying something stupid like ..... COME ON YOU SPURSSSSSSSSSS!

Is it true that you lot have gravy as a main meal, served on dinner plate, at least twice a day?

Yes. It's here. Wooooooh. Time for all the hype and talking to cease; now's the time to deliver.
Come on Spurs - we don't want another shocker like last season - no more Boltons on day 1.

Bring it on monkey hangers.

Agree on your due respect of Roy Keane Harry, am a big fan of champions like him also, just in the same way I respect Steven Gerrard and will keep ranting till we get one of our own models, alla Dave Mackay. Hopefully it will be the Prince!

Result wise, first game of the season and away to Roy Keane's charged up lads, headless as they me be football brain wise, I will be happy with a 2-1 away win. The 3 points is the most important thing at the end of the day to us nicely on our way...has a nice ring to it...:)...COYS!

totally deflated. what a load of shit. all the hype amounts to fuck all. as usual.

You're pathetic spurs fans; you really don't have a clue; welcome down to earth, there's where you stand you and the precious four strikers and the god Barbietov and the idiot Jol. Sunderland is better than you are. let me laugh a bit, please. what a pack of nerds!!!Fourth...what...place? keep wishing!

Typical f*cking spurs. I'm sick of it. Any other decent side would have taken a quite frankly sh*t sunderland team to the cleaners. Top 4? bye bye Berba, Bye bye Chimbo and any other players with ambition. They'll win f*ck all with spurs.

So, after a summer of speculation of how we are gonna challenge for a champions league spot we go and completely blow it on the first day by losing to a piss poor Sunderland side. £40 million spent and we still have that bag of shit Tainio on the left of midfield. I think this is the season i finally give up supporting this band of bottlers. Champions league?? we will be lucky for UEFA spot!! COYS!!

You useless cunts are all to blame for the shambles we call a football team.

You could have joined my crusade but you decide to 'get behind' the boring negative minded fat cock we call a manager.

Blame yoruselves. No manager can last long without fans backing.

We could have started this season with a decent manager to match the talent of the squad.

4 points from our first 4 games. mark my words.

Brilliant reading your arrogance in the build-up, and then the comedown. Or should that be climb-down? If this is how you lot behave after losing one game it serves to highlight how poor a set of fans you really are.

Weren't you going to destroy us? Aren't we just a mere fly to swat on your inexorable rise to Europe? Hope you enjoyed the journey back to London.
