Tottenham Hotspur : Bunce Banjaxed Bent Buy

There's a nasty rumour gathering momentum that Bent has buckled and from his sun lounger in the Carribean he has been lured into the ranks of West Ham United.

Why West Ham? Seventy Five Thousand reasons, all with the Queens head on them. Weekly.

Three points...

1) I said he was coming and got that wrong. Sorry.

2) He may now join Duff and SWP in the 'Where For Art Thou, Career?' file.

3) Well done Mr Levy for not saying the golden words to Charlton, 'Well you just fill the numbers yourself, I'm out of my depth here.'

Maybe Sheffield Utd will have they day in court and he'll end up playing against Charlton anyway. Mustn't be bitter...

A very poor attempt at salvaging your integrity.

I actually held out hope that amongst the blogs you knew what you were talking about...

...it seems you are the same as the rest of the muppetts!

Actualy Skysports right this moment reporting that Spurs made an offer for Bent.

Harry i think you are about to save your arsenal mate..

To be honest HH I never put too much credence into yout "insider knowledge" BUT I like the blog anyhow!

I hope you are wrong on this one, we scored enough goals last season without Bent, so why fix something that is working. I would rather see us solve our obvious problems.

A Bit off topic ... no make that totally off topic BUT I read this on the BBC website

"Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov has been named transfer of the season after Professor Tom Cannon and researchers from Buckingham University calculated the value to their clubs of last season's signings based on certain criteria. Chelsea forward Andriy Shevchenko was labelled a flop. (Daily Express)"

Isnt it nice to see that our taxpayers money is being spent on worthwhile projects that even the totally illiterate and half brained Neanderthal Chelski crowd could have worked out!

I have to agree with the others Harry, you've left me with little to no faith in your reporting skills. Seems the boo boys were right about this site hey:(

You are so into Bulgaria and Berbo's news right now, h, I'm sure you'll post the hot interview he gave to Maxim Bulgaria Magazine (out today). I'm sure All White will give you a hand. Another hh exclusive to keep this blog's site meter rolling. After all, the man is worth 14 times his weight in gold!

Two words from the world's worst ITK...

Gareth

&

Bale.

I didn't get a copy the Sun recently, did they apologise after Berba didn't sign for Man Utd?

Hahahaha..... you can't win 'em all.

I don't get all this 'Harry you were wrong' guff. The reason I get peed off with the papers for banner headlines based on rubbishy gossip is because they're 'news' papers and are supposed to be keeping me informed of what's really taking place in the world, as opposed to profiteering from punter grabbing lies.

This however is a blogsite. Isn't this the place to mouth off? Albeit with a degree of interest and intelligence rather than with a tendency to be aggressive and stupid like those whom Harry is trying to cut out.

Some of you seem awfully 'proper'!

Harry may yet be right.. BBC have said that Bent has turned down the deal as he doesn't want to play for West Ham, but apparantly Curbishley reckons Bent is staying at Charlton so I'm guessing we're not prepared to pay what they/he want(s).

Blimey, I could yet be out of jail yet, loads of whispers on the net that the Bent/WHU gig is cancelled...

History will judge me!!!

Charlton chief executive Peter Varney.

"We set a valuation for Darren and West Ham were the only club prepared to meet that valuation.

"This morning we gave them permission to speak to Darren, which he did, and he has decided not to join West Ham.

"We therefore look forward to Darren starting with us in the Championship next season, which is a massive boost to our chances of returning to the Premier League.”

There seems to be a little more life in this one yet HH.

It does worry me a little that the extra money being made available to the Premier League(Pfft.. like there wasn't enough already) is inflating wages and transfer fees to ridiculous levels. A reported Eighteen Million transfer fee and a wage bill of twelve and a half million over three years…. For Darren Bent to kick a football!?!?!

Madness I say, madness.

you say that, but I've yet to see a really big deal go through in any club. After Hargreaves (which really was last summer's transfer delayed a year anyway) the highest amount has been £7m so far, not counting Bale's additional performance money.

I thought we'd be seeing more talk of huge prices but maybe clubs are going to be using the money for more sensible means (paying off debts, improving/expanding stadiums etc)

That said it's not even July yet...

Going by last seasons activites we had we signed 1 in June, 4 in July and another 3 in August so we still have potentially more action ahead of us.......

I hope you're right joe, but like you say it's early days and that seems to have been a genuine offer.

What's going to happen when desperation sets in towards the end of the window is anyone’s guess

Perhaps we could learn something from Americans and have a cap on salaries before we end up with more Leeds Utd’s
