England vs Brazil: Tottenham Hotspur's Lions, Beckham & Owen

This is really an excuse to run the above footage. Harry tips his hat to altaylorson for an excellent little film.

Three points of interest for me:

Robinson,King, Dawson, Jenas, Lennon (injured) and Defoe all squad listed.
Wow.
Whilst not all of these will start, it is nevertheless great to see such a Tottenham presence.

The second is the 'U' turn of McClaren and the International return of the ever highlighted but yet unknighted David Beckham. I'm sure his good wife Puss Spice and there children, Brandname, Reciept and Thirdone will all be there cheering his sponsors on. McClaren has left himself wide open here and it is a sorry reveal into his insecurities as a manager that he cannot just pick a team without getting muddled in public opinion and Prozone statistics.

Last up is the boy Owen. I shudder to see him even remotely linked with Spurs. I think Big Bar Code Sam has the same doubts I do about his ability to 'come back'. Please, don't misunderstand me, I hope he does, but right now, I don't see it happening.

Here's to Defoe getting on and getting one in!!!

As bad as this sounds, I actually hope we get a good 5-0 thumping tonight just so that the waste of space that is Sven McLaren can be given his marching orders - he is an embarresment to English football!!!

Oh by the way, it's official, people inside football are talking about the 'big five' football clubs. Wonder who they could be refering to?

What do you mean with "people inside football"?

alex..

they put all of the most influential football pundits in a giant football once a year for discussions on various topics

What I mean alex, is people who operate within the football industry. Like players, managers, agents, commentators and pundits. As opposed to fans and blog posters.

I am currently posting from inside a giant football. Alan Hansen has just got up to get another cup of tea and is that Harry ( Saatchi and Saatchi) Hotspur I can see leaning against the valve talking to Michel Platini?

10:18.. I heard he's encouraging a new set of rules where instead of penalty shoot-outs we have an egg and spoon race! Only the international rules of that particular game are yet to be finalised.

should make for interesting viewing come Euro 2008!
