Tottenham Hotspur's New Shirts Non Exclusive!

image stolen from my (hopefully) good friends at ...

Well it would appear that all the naysayers (trans. the self proclaimed photo shop 'experts') called it wrong and it was Robbie Keane in a real shirt posing on an original Space 1999 set.

I only labour the point as when I make a mistake I seem to cause queues outside Internet cafes ... Wait and see how undignified I am when Bale signs!

I still don't like the bleedin fabric! But the all white is cool. And the black is neat. I should add I think the Puma black training gear in general works for me.

Can anyone explain the 'Chinese' looking graphic on the black and yellow, at all?

The yellow will grow on me I'm sure just like the brown kit did.
In fact, I'm calling it mustard, Turkish!

Don't like the yellow Harry? I used to love our yellow away kits of the 70's, especially the yellow shirts, navy shorts and yellow socks. The classic all white kit will obviously be a winner with our sartorially minded brethren, the black (i thought it was a deep navy blue) will be interesting. As for the rovers shirt.....let's hope they all get pinched at the laundrette.

Which Kit is Which? Are we wearing that faded Rovers Kit as a home kit? Is the All White One Europe Only? Which is our away and third kit?

Anonymous said...

Why do we need so many kits? - How did we ever manage with a couple in the past? There is an even greater risk of a loss of identity.

-----------------------------------
At first Hotspur played in navy blue shirts. The club colours then varied from light blue and white halved jerseys, to red shirts and blue shorts, through chocolate brown and old gold and then finally, in the 1899-00 season, to white shirts and navy blue shorts as a tribute to Preston North End, the most successful team of the time.

I think the chinese script says "please do not throw on floor when having the hump regarding substitutions' but I could be wrong.....me? never!

The Anorak supporter beat me to it. Why the need for so many?

While we're getting shirty, on the whole Ghaly/fan thing...

Dannyboy, sometimes the quality of loudmouth punter at WHL makes you wonder just how the **** you and the random caveman support the same team!

I had a very brief exchange with a know it all in the WSU at the Ars* game on the 21st which culminated in me saying "I have appreciate you're only JUST shy of calling Defoe a lazy n*gger, which is cool, because I'm JUST shy of throwing you and your comb-over onto the pitch"

I sooooooooo hard, you understand!!!

As for Ghaly, he must understand he is simply a custodian of OUR badge on OUR shirt which WE provide him with.

I remember a pal of mine worked for Our Price years ago, it was actually a breach of company policy for an employee to wear branded garments whilst consuming alcohol in public...

For many of us it is an equal breach of 'company policy' to act disrespectfully toward the badge. If that sounds pompous, I don't care.

As for the cheering his substitution? Unacceptable. Full stop.

Just like the morons who have booed Malbranque since the own goal.

Yes YOU, moron, guess what? It's YOU that it isn't fit to wear the shirt, not Steed.

Ghaly ought be released with immediate effect.

So too should a number of so called 'supporters'.

Ah Sydney, the sunshine in Stoke has obviously been kind and left you able to model all manner of colour!

Harry Hotspur said...

Oh God, is it deep navy?

Well done HH, another gaffe!

erm Mr Hotspur, am a bit unsure why you adress me personally in your comment 9.15 ? did I miss something ?!?!

Harry Hotspur said...

It was picking up on a post where you had a growl at a punter at The Lane or was it someone else? Apologies if I got that wrong...

Harry Hotspur said...

Dannyboy, just had a scroll thru, apologies, it was someone posting under the name 'danny'. A small liberty but one that caught me.

Not long to Sunday chaps. United front for that one I hope.

Harry, there will always be idiots such as the one you encountered at the Ars* match. 36,000 means it is not possible to escape them. It is good that opinion differs (this site thrives on it) but some people must be watching different games.

The Reading website lists both us and them for the Peace Cup in July.

another danny ? surely not ? I am the one and only dannyboy ;-)

I found the link to which you refer, so I figured. Anyhow, I totally agree with the comments he makes for what it's worth !

Too many 'cavemen' as you call them on here and life in general, methinks.

Best Spurs blog around by a mile by the way MR.H

the writing on the shirts is for y.p . lee so they can get him to pass to the right player

The truth be known, a red shirt would have matched my booze sooden face or verical stripes to make me look slimmer.

Harry Hotspur said...

Chaps.

Fawning is not only tolerated but encouraged.

And errr, writing on the walls is mandatory!

I'll be in the South Upper 'Kicking Racism and Retard-ism Out Of Football' on Sunday.

Jack the Anorak - You are precisely what HH needs. Welcome!

The vertical hold must have gone on most of my shirts...

The first character is 'Ming' - Bright, and the second, I think (I cant see it clearly) is the traditional character for 'Sheng' - To Promote, Rise etc..I have never heard it used before so I don't have a clue what it means...
Like the white and the Grey kits.

Tristan; are you saying that Berbatov and Dawson are mingers?

The question is... can we be merciless?

the chinese words are mansions name in chinese..at least its not on the home kit

Unknown said...

Hey yea, that sounds like it could be a transliteration of Mansion,

Harry Hotspur said...

Gawdhelpus if they transmogrified it...eh?

@ anon 9.42.. hahaha bit harsh but funny as f*ck

am I right in assuming the yellow/mustard kit is our away kit and the black our 3rd kit?

Either way the black is much nicer than the brown and tho I liked the sky blue kit this season, the yellow takes me back to the first kit I ever owned as a youngster! Overall i'm pretty happy with the kits next season if these are the official ones.

the mustard is inside the mustard. BERBA IN YELLOWWWWW!New song: yellowww, yelloww.

Let me see King is black in white, Dawson is blond in black, Berba is the sunshine whatever, but Keane is a...pansy???? dddaaahhhh!!!!

Ok. I like the white and the black, it was my choice from the start and nobody likes yellow so who was the smart guy who put Berba inside so we would dig it?

Anonymous said...

really, who forced Berba into the yellow? he should be in black. don't tell he picked it, I don't believe you. that's no way of treating our star!

Anonymous said...

dont care

Anonymous said...

as for the chinese logo i think we wont use the away kits that much as the home kit can be used in most away games. in truth, the 'special' kit is probably the best and that's sayin sumthin. another establishment money spinner as if the red logo were'nt enough...

Anonymous said...

Jeez Harry , abit late with showing the pics. Call yourself a journalist. Drop the name Hotspur -it's too good for you. All the other Spurs Websites beat you to it. What happened to you ? Your rubbish.

The dark blue away kit is fantastic EXCEPT for the Chinese lettering. Who came up that ridiculous idea? Tell Daniel Levy that I would have bought the dark blues but for the Chinese Lettering. Looks like a dinner take-away box.

Anonymous said...

You no what, this is an absolute joke. We have more red on our home kit then blue, what is wrong with our board??? Took them a great deal of time to reveal a kit that a baby could have designed.
Then for the away kits, how so simple, they cant even include a colour variation, and to cap it off, theres f***ing chinese on the front. Were a bluddy english club. This is a disgrace, all for Levy to make more money. As for that other kit, the rovers one £55 what a joke. I hope they dont sell any of these. Levy should be out, the money grabbing t**ser

Anonymous said...

The rovers kit isnt going to be played in as far as I can tell from tottenhamhotspur.com. It's apparently only a 'tribute' shirt.

The blue shirt would've been nice but I refuse to wear a shirt that is a blatant money making scheme by levy and looks like some dodgy chinese billboard.

End of the day lads, we cant change the fact that this is what the new shirts look like and to be fair, it doesnt realy matter, its all about how the boys do on the pitch not what they wear on the pitch.

Groves said...

I like all the kits but must agree the Chinese writing is a bit much, according to the official Spurs website it is to appeal to our Chinese fan base. Im all for it if it means we rake in more money to buy players to match Berbatovs quality!!!

Anonymous said...

Hardly worth moaning about the Chinese writing for Mansion (as literal as it can get from what I understand)... I must admit Harry I thought it was a Black kit and not "Very or Dark" Navy Blue... glad it isn´t black though. IMO Black is for Refs only, even if that particular tradition (refs in Black) is fading, I´m glad the colour schemes in general reflect the history of the club - a Black kit would do nothing of the sort.

Anonymous said...

Thing is, you cant please everyone all the time. But with 4 kits at least you get more of a choice. So pick your fav one and wear it with pride! Money goes to the CLUB. Besides that I think all 4 are smart. Chinese letters looks cool. THFC is a massive club worldwide. Be proud.

Phew! Looks like the all white kit is home strip.

Anonymous said...

Whether or not you like the new kits, why is everyone so touchy about Levy making a few quid? It's not for his wallet, it's for the club - and if that means there's more for investment in players and WHL then surely that's a good thing. Isn't it?

If any of the moaners would like to explain why they're so strongly opposed to the club maximising its potential, I'm all ears...

I could've sworn that was what we all wanted.

Oh, and for the record I quite like the anniversary kit and have already pre-ordered it - just in case you can't find anything else to have a go at me for.

Anonymous said...

what the f****! who put Berbs in yellow? gosh, is this the gay parade?
idiots!

Your money, spend it how you want.

but where do you draw the line - 10 different kits per season?

Anonymous said...

You don't have to buy the kits. I don't.

Let me see:

5th place; 23 goals ( top scorer); last goal in the 32th minute:

555 is the number of the Berba!

(666 is the number of the Beast. Get it?)

I'm so glad it's the Return of the King !

Nemesis (over and out)

Anonymous said...

in fact, Berba is ending up 5th in the Actim too ( I ask again if any foreign player in his first year ranked as high as that. where's Benny McCarthy? I can't even see him there - stupid comparisions).

the grand total of Berba's goals is 29:
11 - all cups
12 - Prem
4 - pre-season
2 - national side

he has two games for Bulgaria in June so he can actually end the season with another 5, that is 32 goals, if he scores 3 there, which is very very very possible.
