Tottenham: Charlton GOALS ON FILM!

Two tremendous goals to send Charlton into the Championship. No gloating, but they know themselves if they'd played like that more often they wouldn't have been in the mess they were.

But the real problem was never the players, they weren't actually dreadful. Look at the muck that went down last term, Sunderland for one...

The Charlton Board was delusional and firing Curbishley will only mark them out in football history as oafs of the highest order. Mind you, employing the supply school teacher looky likey Les Reed was a close second on the stupid front, but the Curbishley sacking was criminal. He played his part in building that Club and they thought they knew better. Arrogant, and now proven wrong.

It's a pity for Charlton, but Pardew can whistle.

Curbishley fell on his own sword. I could be wrong, I am frequently, maybe he had been dying to get out of the place for years...

Shame to see Charlton go down would have been nice to see them catch West Ham and send them down instead but the board let them down badly as you said Harry

Feeling the love/common sense chaps...

HH STILL produces the best on the net.

I stand by that, not MY input, but the contributors on here are invariably immensely quotable and that's what I'd want out of it as punter clicking on...

"Some '#####' on HH said,"...."

It's not Viva HH as some cynics might suggest, it's Viva braincells...

As many of you know...

As a Charlton fan, thanks for the vaguely nice comments (I think). Curbishley did walk though, probably a good thing as we were playing some pretty boring drivel beyond October/November 2005 when Murphy lost his form and got dropped (he then cried all the way up north - for the film premiers apparently). And to be honest Curbs seemed to have run out of steam. There's an air of optimism round Charlton at the moment that we can get rid of some of the dead wood and come back fighting.

November 15 2006

Charlton last night sacked manager Iain Dowie - after just 15 games in charge. Top brass at The Valley acted after a dismal run of just two league wins this term left the Addicks at the bottom of the table. Dowie, 41, is the first Premiership boss to be axed this season and it appears player unrest over his managerial appraoch contributed to the decision. Dowie was involved in a series of rows with the club's senior players over the past month. And one furious star went for him in a training ground bust-up last week. Assistant coach Les Reed will take charge of the team for Saturday's trip to Reading and is a strong favorite to land the job on a full-time basis. Derby boss Billy Davies -who was offered the job in the summer before Dowie accepted the position - and Cardiff manager David Jones would also be in the running. But former gaffer Alan Curbishley, who left the club in May after 15 years at the helm, insists he is not interested. He said: "I left Charlton for a new challenge. Going back would not be good for me - or for the club."

How does that reflect that Curbs didn't fallon his sword as was said earlier?

Curbs was nudged out by the wankers in charge. The first of three stupid decisions this season that saw us go down
