Charlton vs Tottenham Hotspur: First Step To Fifth!

What can a two bob Blogger tell you?

There ought to be goals - the price on there being in excess of 2.5 is as short as 6/4. In the last four games at The Valley we've put in 8 and conceded 6!

Mido is out - with a groin strain that some cynics believe may be righted in two games time...
And Thatcher is out too. Unfortunately just from tonight's game and not of the sport completely...

Pardew's mob won't be looking forward to this game. However, Charlton's home record is actually better than Tottenham's away one...and they aren't looking to Europe, they're thinking about the £30 million it'll cost them if they drop...

1-0. Superb goal by Berbatov.

6.33: GOAL - SPURS. King fine pass out of defence down the left touchline, Berbatov turned El Karkouri and was away, into box, left side, finished superbly one-on-one.
Charlton 0, Spurs 1

1-0 HT.

Berbatov's goal was class.
Lennon has had a shocker, and even King wasn't able to realise we needed to slow the game down and stop giving the ball back so easily, and we got away with it a bit at the end of the half.

2-0 Full time. Great goal by Berbatov, and a good goal by Defoe.

I'm happy with the result and the fact that Robbo didn't really have much to do, but it must be clear that we are not able to stem the tide coming from midfield, and that was against Charlton. I personally stick up for the team and the manager but certain things I do have a moan at, and it's clear we need a better player than Zokora. Anybody basically is able to beat him with the ball and that's our problem. Lennon also is in a bit of a crisis and the end of the season cant come soon enough. Up to 6th though so job done on the night. Thanks to Berba.

I thought Teemu played his part again tonight. Really gets stuck in.

No a bad day at the office, H.

You caused bother in several spots, knocked the hecklers over the boundary for a straight six and we sent Charlton down with a beautiful Defoe goal.

Up HH and Up the Tottenham!

I don't think we will get much on Thursday. Rovers will be fired up with last year's game at WHL a reason for revenge as well as a very slim chance of UEFA Cup qualification. Man City at home on Sunday should go our way but who knows after last year? Prepare for Lasagne jokes... Anyway, it all makes to an exciting end of season again so we can feel we are getting value.

Dannyboy speaks of hatred for Pardew after last year ( I would have prefered to have beaten Hammers with Pards in charge tonight) but my heart goes out to Charlton. Although Pardew has been paid back tonight, he is actually going to operate at his level and is probably looking forward to next year. He appears to carry no blame for taking Charlton down. The fans (my friends) however deserve to bounce back straight away and I think they have the right man. Good luck to Charlton for next year, they are now accepted as a Premier League club. People like Charlton!

Yeah Syd, I actually don't hate Charlton myself, but Pardew can whistle.
