Chelsea Fans In Racist Shame At White Hart Lane

What are your thoughts on the hissing directed at Tottenham fans yesterday?

There was one particular instance when the Spurs fans sang, 'Shall We Sing A Song For You?' and the Chelsea fans responded en masse with this 'hissssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss' noise.

An this was by no means made by a 'mindless few' either... Sky Sports microphones picked it up quite clearly. The bulk of Chelsea fans were doing it.

Clearly the hissing is designed to mimic/ draw reference to the gassing of amongst others, Jews in WW2.

'Is there any place for the Holocaust in the modern game?' seems a bizarre and awful question. Unless you're at home to Chelsea.

Are you sure it wasn't the Spurs fans simply saying "Shhhhhhhhhhhh"? I was at the match and this is what I thought. On most occasions if the away fans don't sing back, the Spurs fans reply with a shhhh.

They were hisssssssssing. And they're not the only fans to do so

ignore them, they are imbeciles

The fact is harry, you don't know if, who or why anybody was hissing or shhhhhhing.

Im sure if they were Monkey or Anti-Gay chanting the FA would be all over it! Maybe its time the Media picked up on it. Bad press is the only thing that will stop this type of abuse.

I was at the game and amongst the Chelsea crowd. I did not make a "hissing" noise nor did I hear anyone else make one. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised how little anti-semitic garbage I heard.

I am ashamed to say I have heard Chelsea fans do it in the past I just didn't hear it yesterday,

The fact is _________________ Miss Marple, the Chelsea fans were doing it outside the ground AS WELL.

But thanks for your input.

Moobs, next time i suggest you dont forget to take your ear muffs off.

I am also of the opinion that it was us Spurs fans who were doing the SSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH in reference to the Chelsea fans being quiet, but if it was them doing it are we really that offended by it, i know im not.

Don't know if anyone else noticed but as we were walking out past the South stand the Chelsea fans that the police had hemmed in were all hissing. The guy infront of me said something about it to one of the policeman on horseback who just waved him on and took no notice. If they'd been doing monkey chants they'd all be banged up and banned from every ground in the country by now.

We can't make too many assumptions about what Terry said though - from the BBC replays on MOTD2 it just looked like he shouted "F*ck off, f*ck off prick" at Ledders.

Whatever you make of the details though it was a brilliant game and an equally great result.

I wouldn’t expect anything less from them don’t forgot these were very same peole
Who sent d hate mail to their chairman in 80’s for have too many black players in their team

Well said 1.50,

The sooner these idiots have the light shined on their 'little traits' the better.

I'm sick of Chelsea cloaking their endless cheating and niggling with silverware.

The jig is up.

I was in the Park Lane and I haveto say I didn't hear it but hey I've known the chelsea fans for decades and they've always been the scum of the earth.
The important thing is that, same as ever, the Spurs fans had to bait the chelsea fans to get any noise out of them at all ! When we are away the noise is constant.

dont be a moron

Im jewish and have been a chelsea fan for 20 years

They were simply saying shhh in response to
'shall we sing a song for you'

It does a lot more harm than good for the fight against anti-semitism when you cry wolf.

i find this article offensive as a jew and you should be very very ashamed.

I didn't hear any hissing outside the game either, though I may have been distracted by the guy who kept telling me I was "chavscum" and, contrarily, "a posh cunt" and kept indicating that he wanted to slash my throat. I couldn't work out what he was so angry about; you'd have thought he'd be pleased. Plenty of other people were literally skipping for joy.

I thought given the workrate you deserved the win. Reading some of the messages it's like you're so used to being upset you can't get out of the habit - enjoy it.

Its been happening for ages at white hart lane... in the past few seasons ive heard this bullsh*t from Everton away fans, west ham away fans & now chelsea.
If it were to any other group of people it would made into a major issue, could you imagine something this insensitive being said about Islam & what the reaction would be?
Now im not Jewish but i find this discusting, disrespectfull towards the dead & all in all a proper liberty & would like to see action against what we know is a small mindless and weak minded minority of so called football fans.

who gives a fook what they were doing we beat them - get real harry - do you not think that when spurs fans go away they are also racist and abusive to home fans??? far to much negativity about the fixture savour the result its been a long time coming - COYS COYS - im still buzzin

Anonymous said...

get real! There must be a million and one thigns that make a hiss sounds, but you have to choose the holocaust?

get a grip.

Anonymous said...

Don't take this the wrong way, but who cares! Yes the holocaust was terrible - a truly traffic event and a shameful period of human history, and yes, people using it against opposing fans at football shows them to be mindless idiots, BUT . . . why not just shrug it off? As I said, they are mindless idiots in a minority, so why let the get to you. Why do you care what they think, or what they say? Surely you don't respect their opinion? I hope no-one is offended by this post, and I really do not mean to belittle the suffering of Jews in the war, but if people ignored such abuse/acts the idiots would eventually not bother. They see if annoys people and as a result they carry on.

Idiot! It was spurs fans going Shhhh. It's what we do after singing 'shall we sing a sing for you'. It's to hear if they can be bothered to sing back!

Cor do me a favour! Tottingham Hotspurs The Innocents of North London. I suppose you know nothing of the Spurs very nice supporters, ambushing opposing fans in and around the salubrious Three Point Lane. Make the most of it because it will be another 16 years before you see another victory. UP THE CHAMPIONS, READ IT AND WEEP.

the above is a definition of a sad and scummy inbred jump on the band wagon druggy wanker - read and wank you tosser - no passion in your support only scum bags bye then

What a load of rubbish!!!!! as a spurs fan we spend the whole game singing yid army and chanting yids and if the chelsea fans really are as mindless to be racist in that sense its only a hiss, get on with it besides to be honest how many of us come from a jewish background, so forget that and enjoy the 3 points against jose's men cos we deserved it, up the yids!

I'm sorry, but I find this rather disappointing.

Yes, you won the game... and deservedly so. But I was sat there, and all the Chelsea fans were doign was Ssshhhing back at you after "Shall we sing a song". And, frankly, if you can't tell the difference then you're just another idiot in charge of a keyboard.

Ah, the blogosphere - more wasted hot air than at any other time in history. Ga
wd love it.

talking of chants from crowds in general, did anyone see the report in the sun on saturday saying we are the 3rd quietest supporters in the land? the reporter obviously hasnt been to the lane recently. i didnt go yesterday, but me and my son kept looking at each other while watching it on sky sports and both said - listen to the bloody atmosphere, its brilliant. even the missus came in and told me to turn the tele down !!!
i didnt hear any hissing though H......

Harry Hotspur said...

You must have a better telly than me DB!

Did you also see we're top of the 'arrests outside Premiership grounds' chart?

Anonymous said...

Mmmm, so all the Johnny come lately Chelsea fans are the same people who sent hate mail to Bates in the eighties???? How does that work??

Were was I when we were sh*t? Watching us win at WHL, like we will do for the next sixteen years as well.

Anonymous said...

Im so against any kind of racism - so let that point out. Indeed Im a life-long fan from Norway, havent been to WHL for more than a couple of times- YET. But, is the jew-connection just something in the past? Or how is this today? Im no jew - so I cant chant "Yid army" - or what you sing. Indeed I find the jew thing a bit strange nowadays, cause Ive read that most Spurs fans are not jewish. Well, take this as you like, but please answer on my question. COYS.

Anonymous said...

Dont think we can moan about away fans . Lets be honest . What about our songs we sing about CAMPBELL . HIV , GAY , HANGING FROM A TREE etc . All fully deserved but we cant have it both ways .
Yid ARMY!!!

Anonymous said...

Or Stamford the Abraham Russian Jewish Bridge?

in answer to the man from norway, the reason we chant "yid army" is a brothers in arms kinda thing to show our jewish fans (and there are a lot of them still) that we are right behind them when there are chants from away fans that are directed towards them. there arent enough of them to reply on their own so we show solidarity with them and throw the racist comments back at the scum that shout it in the first place. wew are all supporters of spurs and in turn we support our jewish friends too

Heard the noise....thought it was Mourinhou's ego deflating.....

i was in the north stand and thought it was a SSSSHHHHHH from the spurs fans. if it was in fact hissing then the league must take action, all chelsea fans who took part in it should hang their heads in shame, its disgusting.

i must say i did enjoy the large rendition of "BARCELONA MUST BE SH*T" outside the ground

I was hissed at on my way out the ground yesterday by nf lunatics.
