If the Rumour Mill was making bread opposed to hot air, it would put Hovis out of business by teatime tomorrow.
Jermaine Defoe who is STILL much loved by yours truely, has been the subject of today's whistling in the dark. Reports are flying around that the price is 15 mill for those who might ask and apparently there is a long list of enquiring minds, headed up by Chelsea and Newcastle, to name but both of them.
The usual type of speculation, which this piece reflects, mostly only a paragraph long - and light on real facts... Let me put this nicely, if the bench isn't comfortable at the Lane, he may require the services of a chiropractor at Stamford Bridge...

A year and a half is a long time for a player to be out of form. I can't help wondering if it will take a change or another coach to bring it out of him.
He really hasn't hit his stride all season. I'd be happy to keep him another year but I wouldn't turn down 15 mil either. He's been continually disappointing and I had such high hopes when he arrived. Maybe a place in germany would spark him up, who knows?
15 mill is not small change if you viewed it a discount against the purchase of a Kuyt or similar. Frankly that figure is a huge overvaluation. I can only presume that some grubby agent has made it up...
let's face it...he's not that good. i hope he stays though. i rate keano over defoe any day, even when he was scoring regular.
I believe we'd probably sell him for 8 to 10. I'd sell him for that too.
WHAT A FANTASTIC SEASON. 5TH PLACE. EUROPEAN FOOTY ON THE BOX NEXT SEASON. MONEY FOR THE SUMMER. SEVERAL PLAYERS IN THE WORLD CUP TO WATCH. CLOSED THE GAP ON THE GOONS TO 2 POINTS. QUALITY PEOPLE RUNNING THE CLUB FOR A CHANGE.
I LOVE IT.
COME ON YOU SPURS
COME ON YOU SPURS
COME ON YOU SPURS
id sell defoe for about 10 million, and possibly repace him with dirk kuyt.
