Spurs In For Diego Milito

Diego Milito anyone?

Who knows, but frankly this is one of the best YouTube soundtracks I've heard in a dog's age. So consider this chap as you enjoy what little sunshine there is left in your day.

Of course if he is unveiled before the game on Sunday, you heard it here first of course...

He's twenty eight years old, knows where the onion sack is, currently enslaved with Real Zaragoza and regarded by many as quite wonderful. Who they then Harry? Well, Sven for one. He was sniffing around after the lad's services as recently as January this year. Money? Negotiating from £18 million downwards

With Berbatov off!!
Will this be the man to lead the line?
looks similar to Santa Cruz, capable of every thing from the shin roller to the spectacular. Good in the air to!
only trouble is most his goals from the you tube video, come from deliveries from wide areas. This is unfortunatley is where spurs have failed to deliver.
Two quality wide men please!!

Reminds me a bit of that horse lookalike at madrid who use to be with manure.

Instead of or as well as Eto'o?

Are you just saying "here, look at this chap. He'd be good" are you saying that Spurs are going to approach this chap?

on yesterday's Times weekly footie podcast, the Spanish journo also mentioned that Spurs may be looking at Milito. He said that Milito had been the best striker in the Spanish league for the last 2 seasons.

anonymous 18:17 learn english would you?! you write like a retard with a fistfull of spoons.

Looks good. All round striker from the specacular to the scrappy and good header of the ball. If Lennon sorts his crossing out and Capel adjusts quickly (if we get him of course) then he would be terrific. Milito Keane Etoo Pekhart. I certainly wouldnt complain and Pekhart would definately appreciate the help that this lot can give him.

anon 18.17, his brother is injured not him. Sorry to disappoint (or dissapoint as you say) Gabriel is inhured (injured). Having a brother makes it so confusing for some!

sorry 18.17 appreciate the info

Can I refer you to a post on this very blog - posted yesterday at 20.56.
If Zaragoza lose to Valencia tonight the deal will be near certain.

Definitely with you on the music front HH.

My only concern is his age to be honest. Moving to such a fast paced game in the premier league at 29 (come the summer anyway) seems a little bit risky for us to be spending £18 million squid.

On the other hand, if Peckhart was to come through this season (fingers crossed because I think he's ace) then having someone like Milito and Keane around him (and Bent provided he doesn't get chucked out) can only be a good thing.

My personal thoughts on why our midfield has looked average all season has simply been a lack of experience.

All the good coaching in the world can't make up for someone with talent and experience to give the young lads a severe kick up the ass!

The soundtrack is called "El Matador" by an Argentinian group called Los Fabulosos Cadillacs.

If you ever go to a football match in Argentina you will hear the crowd singing songs about their team to this tune.

They are an excellent band and if you are able to then check out other songs by them like "Mal Bicho" and their ska version of "Strawberry Fields Forever" with Debbie Harry on vocals.

ive heard on the grapevine that we've agreed 5 deals already to stop prices inflating after euro 08, but a couple of south americans are in amongst them millito could be one but im assured a little less well known Brazilian by the name of kerlon is in the bag, we tried to get him last summer but work permit would have been impossible, but that is no longer the case.

Sorry Harry but I didn't hear it here first - Guillem Balague has spoken about this several times - most recently in Monday's Times podcast.

There is a very good chance of this happening.

He's none too shabby

I had a packet of Milito's once. They're chewy, fruit-flavoured candies.

Like many sweets, though, they contain sorbitol and, when eaten excessively, can have a laxative effect.

Jeremy Menez , Matias Fernandez, get some sense and look at one of these , POST BACK TO BRAD

the one whos out for 6 months is his brother..gaby milito from barca.

he looks decent - a bit in the same vein as berba but probably with not that good a touch, but still pretty decent. looks like he's up for a scrap as well, which is always good to see in your striker.

anyone else notice that the 2 wingers and the number 9 look pretty handy as well?!

Sorbitol ~ I hear that boy can really move...

Shades of the boy Lineaker - the way that he managed to score off every part of his body apart from his foot and lethal from 2 yards.

Then, just as I was feeling smug with myself for my witty comparison, he pinged one in from the edge of the box.

Caramba!

That black/white/gold combi third strip sure hides them stains.

Cheers for the goss, HH. I have a real sense that Spurs have stolen a march on their rivals by doing pre-emptive work to recruit new players. Behind the rumours I detect a real energy and buzz at the club, and a fresh wind of change and confidence sweeping through it and swelling it.

Sh*t, I'm actually looking forward to the new season with optimism. Granted, the Tottenham DNA is programmed to make me feel that way. But, while we bewailed the 'end-of-season' malaise that subdued performances after the Carling Cup win, plans were already being drafted for next season by our savvy senor.

If the board is in it for the long haul... If Levy loves the club more than he loves realising values... The good times could roll.

Jesus! All this talk of excitement has got me excited!

I just hope a third of the rumours are true - and we sign a big name to soften the blow of a 20% rise in season ticket prices...

Anonymous said...

Not reeaaaally all that impressive. No Berbs, that's for sure.

Anonymous said...

Dissapointed to hear Levy is looking to build a 60 000 capacity stadium. At least 75 000 to really make us a world power. Why aim for epl average. I would really like to copy the nou camp design with a roof. We have the advantage of wembley and emirates blue print./mistakes

A girl I used to know had a large pair of Militos and she never failed to score from 2 yards either.

And, may I say Harry, a wonderful new header pic.
Of course, they were all terrific players, but I sometimes feel Bobby Smith never really got the accolade he deserved.

Yes its just great seeing the old stars again, Oh for the good old days.I wonder what greaves and Blanchflower would be worth in this day and age.If I can remember correctly the last time we won the old 1st Div title, we had a very average season before it.So Maybe just maybe next season we might shock one or more of the alleged big 4,especially those in N5. Where the wheels might be beginning to fall off.

Anonymous said...

he looks shit!
He is just another Defoe player, who goal hangs, and relies on his teammates to lay the ball to his feet 2 yards infront of the goal so he can score.

Defoe did not fit into our style of play, nor would Milito, whre the fuck you got this bullshit story from is a whole other question.
Romas will not make a mistake like that.

Anonymous said...

Good thing we don't have Romas as our manager then.

Anonymous said...

judging by that video,he looks like a lucky player. He does look great in the air though.
would he cut it at premiership level?

leave it to the spurs management who know what they're doing ( at last! ).

mark.

I'd just be happy to see some of those quality crosses that he's getting on the end off.

We currently lack that quality from both our wings.

Sort that out, and it won't matter who's up front, they could't help but score!

Its all about deliverly chaps...and the current lack off from our midfield.

Anonymous said...

I would rather have Eto'o....and Capel to throw those crosses in....

Anonymous said...

In the past few days the media has linked the club with 2 new teams - Miguel Veloso, Gatusso, Eto'o, Diego Capel, David Villa, M'Bami, Michael Johnson, Lassana Diarra, Anton Ferdinand, Diego Milito, Fornaroli, Kameni, Gomes, Cuellar, Kapo, Sergio Garcia, Samir Handanovic, Makoun, George Boateng ..... and I'm sure there's more. It's going to be a long wait to midnight, Aug 31st
