Spurs Knock The Stuffing Out Of Fulham: HIGHLIGHTS

And lo, an angel of the Lord did appear and said unto the faithful, "Natural order will be resumed on Boxing Day, whereupon your lot will thump Fulham, who are rubbish."

Fulham were awful but still:

YID ARMY!!!

PS We've got Ledley (back) at the back!

Anonymous said...

Given your well known views on the Ledders situation, Harry. How many games do you give him before he's out injured again?

Anonymous said...

Huddlestone haters take note, 40 yard pass.... run to catch up with play, flick, finish.....class.

I hope he stays fit and leads us to silverware. His effect on the team when he is IN a shirt is sizable.

I remain scepticle he will survive for any real lenght of time...

Very good seeing Hudd today and how much more mobile he's looking. Fulham were really poor but you still had to take the chances and we did.

Anonymous said...

ecstatic with the result! wish we could show that kind of confidence on a consistent basis. Glad to see that huddlestone's "fitness program" is paying off. i'd love to know what actually went on at the training ground during Jol's time. i suspect they just sat around and watched romantic comedies, sipping on pina coladas. also, let's try not to jinx the king with blanket "LEDLEY'S BACK" declarations. oops.

thought it was class for huddlestone to pass that last one, if it was other way around im pretty sure defoe wouldve taken a shot

return of the KING of WHL. massive result. it shows wat a single player can do to a team. defence was rock solid. the goal was offside. that cunt of a linesman. glad to hv our capt back

Anonymous said...

Massive to see Ledley back, good to see his progress is being monitored by the medical staff, therefore he should be fine for the Ars semis! Yeah Shanemac, me too, but the boys have been brilliant for the last 4 games, Portsmouth, City, Le Ars, regardless of the lucky result, then Fulham where we raised it in a game we traditionally seem not to turn up! And Hudd's swapping pounds for goals! Superb! COYS!

can anyone tell me wot the black armbands were for yesturday?

The armbands were for Tommy Harmer, RIP, who played for us in the fifties. Don't know all that much about him though – sorry, wasn't born for quite a while after.

"Huddlestone haters take note, 40 yard pass.... run to catch up with play, flick, finish.....class"

Should be another nail in Jenas Spurs coffin.

Anonymous said...

All of our players, jenas + zokora included, have upped their game since Ramos took over.

Tainio has been everything a utility player should be.

O'Hara is a revelation.

Kaboul has hardly gifted any goals away recently.

dont see why Jenas shouldnt be given opportunity to prove himself under the new regime along with everybody else.

completely different topic here, but our allocation for arsenal is 4000 short again. do you know if anyone at thfc is fighting our cause here. would sir alex stand for it. me thinks not.

Is it me or is Gaz Lineker the only 'pundit' who has any respect for our team? Lawrenson, fat little tosser as he is, and Andy Gray, enuff said of course, detest the Spurs..Anyway, how can these pathetic fools say were only good against shite opposition, and continue to slag us, when we outplayed the scum for long periods of the game, yet they praise Pompey for trying to crowd the midfield and stifle the natural flow of the scum yesterday??

Anonymous said...

ps I think our best current midfield is Malbranque, Hudd, Jenas, Lennon..Once we get Bale back at LB, and IF King can stay fit, 5th place is a real possibility...Oh, and wouldnt be surprised if we win the uefa, on current form can beat any team in it, no?
pps Anyone got a ticket for Sat theyre not able to use, Im over for 8 weeks, and have put my request in a bit late for this weeks games..

i'm happy to say it's the end for Jenas..

KPB, Thudd and O'Hara, despite some of their flaws, are all easily better players.. the only thing Jenas has going for him is that he's been around longer..

on the form of the aforementioned trio and the potential they showed in recent games, i don't think anyone can disagree that Jenas really shouldn't get a look in..

JJ has upped his game since Ramos arrived but i've said it before and i'll say it again: he's just not good enough..

in other news... Steed is undoubtedly our player of the season.. with Robbie in second purely for his goals and nothing else.. expect a push from Berb too..

great win on "St. Stephen's Day" as it's called in Ireland!! despite the opposition....

great to see Ledley back but was wincing every time he made a challenge for fear of him injuring himself again..

Ramos is a great manager.. and will lead us to great things i've no doubt... but just a quick thought/conversation starter.. if we were to win the Carling Cup this year..should Martin Jol get some of the credit??!!

after all he did take charge in wins over Boro and Blackpool..

i don't think however that he had the capacity to lead the team to victory over City despite his good record against them..

Anonymous said...

Doubt we'd of won at city and can you imagine what the score would of been had jol been in charge against the goons?with all those injuries would of been the perfect excuse to just not turn up and get tonked! Last season in the league away from home against the scum was one such pitiful display 3.0 with jol's full team! I think only an absolute moron can't see that Ramos is light years ahead of mj when it comes to tactics, experiance and actually doing some work on the training pitch!

Agree with much of what's been said on here regarding JJ. Thud & Hurrah have far more zip and zing going forward than JJ, particularly in the long pass department. I'd like to get a look at how Bent would do with Thud & Hurrah in the middle.

Anonymous said...

I can't understand why people still slate Jenas. The whole team has been lifted since Ramos arrived, not just him. He has got an abundance of quality; if people let him get on with his game rather than continually knocking him, he may just prove a few doubters wrong. And let's not get carried away with Thud and O'Hara after 3 good games. A welcome improvement, but against inferior sides we should be beating; let's see it over a season.
Also bimitar, cretin, Ramos was in charge against Blackpool; Jol's last game was the shocking loss against Getafe. Clive Allen then took charge against Blackburn before Ramos took over. Getting simple facts wrong really does shoot any credibility you may have to pieces. (So, no; Jol shouldn't take any credit if we win the Carling Cup!) HA.

Dannyboy: The problem with JJ is the burden of expectation.

'Cuddles-stones' is still honeymooning in the 'Youngster Who May Make Good' category.

Tommy has exhibited fleeting snatches of class in a number of games, but never found a game as personally rewarding as the one against Fulham.

So Tommy or 'Dances With Scales' to give him his full native American Red Indian name has delivered. I thought his goals were 'us' all over. Sweet, clever and gifted fare.

The proof of the pudding (sorry, last one of the night..) will be either Tommy of JJ delivering similar performances against the likes of good midtable clubs then good top tier clubs.

I believe both men can. But only under the likes of Ramos where talent meets structure and order.

Ramos is doing a great job and can obviously improve all our players but I still can't see Jenas here in two years time. When the going gets tough he vanishes. We need a central midfielder who can take a grip and change things. With all his apparent skill J J never seems to be in charge.

I'd like to see Steed in the middle.

Anonymous said...

my appologies Dannyboy..got my games mixed up...won't happen again.. hoope my credibility hasn't taken too much of a hit.. ;)

and you are right we shouldn't get too carried away with the other lads..

but i still know who i would rather see on the pitch for Spurs..and on current form there is no way you or anyone can justify a starting place for Jenas and that is solely down to the performances of others not the level of his performances...

i would like to see, in the coming games..O'Hara on the left, Steed in the middle and hopefully Bale can get back fit soon and slot in at left-back..

perhaps, with the level of Steed's performances, him slotting in at centre-mid will negate the need to purchase a midfielder in January...would still like to see one come in though..

Anonymous said...

Bimitar. Agreed except that a tough tackling defensive midfielder is a must.

Jolsgonemental. Nice to hear from you !

It's great to see young players coming up good.

We can now filed a competitive team of 21 and unders:

Alnwick; Gunter, Kaboul, Archibald-H (or Dervitte), Bale;Lennon, O'Hara, Huddlestone, Taarabt: Boateng; Pekhart

OK so we're lacking upfront.

Anonymous said...

dannyboy - the reason we're riding JJ is because we know he is still CRAP!

I was shocked how many uneducated Spurs fans came out of the woodwork singing JJ's praises after the Portsmouth match - but any intelligent fan knew better.

The match commentator was on drugs that day and was constantly praising JJ for plays that were great plays, but they were made by the Prince and not JJ! I don't think he called KPB's name all match, even though he was everywhere. In reality, JJ had 1 great forward run, 1 completed forward pass, he did defend very well in the box, but he disappeared for 60 mins in the middle of the match and had 15+ back passes that all ended up as turnovers.

The best Spurs midfield IMO is O'Hara on the left, Thudd & Steed in the middle & Lennon on the right.

ok. Comments noted, but we agree to differ; healthy debate. My question - have we missed Zokora? Will we miss him when he goes to ANC? Should he be sold or retained as emergency centre back?!

coys

Anonymous said...

we'll not miss DZ. but woulnt sell him just yet. he's got experience and we need that. we also need cover for DC.

'JENAS IS CRAP'

end of story. pls do not continue this debate. he's good but not the tottenham way. JR shud get him to sit for an IQ test cos he's so brainless

Anonymous said...

dildo

Like I say, we agree to disagree. Healthy debate is good for all; we don't yet live in a dictatorship, so long may the discussion continue. I rate him. So there!

coys

Anonymous said...

i wud rate him myself if he was playin for hull city.

but the positive of jenas is.. sometimes he'll score goals wen he goes missing cos even opponents dont realize he's there

Anonymous said...

I agree Dannyboy debate is healthy but my guess is Jenas will be replaced. He is another nearly man and we have had too many of those over the last few years then someone like O'Hara comes in, is involved in every aspect of the game and really shows up Jenas and Zokora for what they are.

The question is this Dildo : Zokora can't tackle, head the ball or shoot and his passing is hardly inspiring so what is the purpose in playing him ? Unless charging up the pitch once every match then hitting the ball into the stands is something we need !

And another thing . Can anyone explain why 8 million for Ashley Young was too much when we needed a left sided midfielder, but 16.5 million for Bent was money well spent when we already had three top strikers far better than him.

EL said...

I look forward to the day whem JJ is a settled reserve player or at another club. Then we can stop having these tiresome bloody discussions about him. He's rarely awful. But he's just very evidently not top drawer and that's what I expect in a Spurs midfield. 2 years of watching him passing mainly sideways or backwards is all the proof I need. He's just not creatively cultured enough.

Tough games coming up. We HAVE to beat reading. There's a fairly formidable points gap between 13th and 6th.

Go on the Spurs!

EL said...

Ps.

Onedavemackay's first paragraph in his last post says it all. He's bang on.

Anonymous said...

With O'Hara looking like a solid EPL player and Steed around to back him up, do we need a LM now?

Do Spurs even need to add any players now, and if so, where? Who could we pickup that could start ahead of anybody on this current roster (assuming Bale is healthy)? Unfortunately, the best player available, and one of the best young talents in the world, just got picked up by City.

Perhaps need to add depth? Maybe a RM that can deliver a pass/cross?

Anonymous said...

Ladies,Ladies,
We win 5-1 and what we get on here is mostly a bitchfest (a.k.a. "a healthy debate")about whether JJ is crap/alright/talented and so on. My opinion ... doesn't matter. Ramos will decide - and when JJ's been fit, he's played him. Significant? You decide.
Maybe we'll sign that much needed midfield commander in January. Rumour is that Chelski reject and French International short-arse, Diarra, might schlep up the Seven Sisters Road from the Unmentionables. Any thoughts on that one?
Summerspur - re the CC Cup semi ticket allocation. You're right we should have 9000 yiddos at the Emirates (and they should be entitled to about 5000 at the Lane), but both clubs are bottling it. Makes for easier policing and less hassle for the ticket offices. At least several hundred Park Lane season ticket holders don't have to be "relocated" while Wrighty7's extended family occupy their seats.

JJ's form needs to be addressed alright. At his best he can be pretty fantastic, but the sad reality is he rarely delivers.

If the new regime cannot get greater consistentcy from him then he has to be removed from the 1st squad.

My fear with him is that it's just some days he's in the mood and some he ain't.

Which is damning comment.

If however, it is the system we are employing in some games that causes him to 'disappear' then it is that that needs looking at.

And I'm falling asleep weighing it all up....

O'Hara looks brand new doesn't he?!

Anonymous said...

Just been watching Gus Poyet on SpursTV online (note to self - get out more). Anyway, among the usual blabber, right at the end he gives a big hint that the line-ups for the Reading and Villa games will be very different - and require "different approaches". And, whatever the result against Reading, there will be changes against the Villans. Might be that the tactically flexible Ramos is more about "horses for courses" rather than "this is my starting XI regardless". Then again, it might just be about the number of games in a short space of time.

Anonymous said...

"Ramos will decide - and when JJ's been fit, he's played him. Significant? You decide."

Levy wanted him, MJ didn't, even came out and said so, said he was shite and didn't do enough and would bea waste of £5m, Levy bought him for near on £9m, MJ then played him because he had to as the Toon rolled around laughing.

We'll see what Ramos is really made of because it's obvious that things are just better without that useless ponce giving the ball away and playing others into trouble.

Anonymous said...

if jenas is to be sold, it won't happen until the summer. he'll continue to get his chance to prove himself to ramos over the next few months. personally i think that he is a bit weak mentally, and performs well when the pressure is off. without question, he's one of the most naturally talented players on our team and i can imagine that he is fantastic on the training pitch. i don't mean to imply that martin jol was fooled by him, but i think his almost automatic selection was inexplicable. over the course of last season, you can't say that he was more effective than teemu tainio. however, jol was a tactical neophyte. we know that now. i've always been critical of jenas, but everyone does deserve a second look under Ramos (except Ghaly... he can rot), and i think that Jenas might do better in a system where he can move forward more often. he's clearly shite in the holding role and he's an awful defender, but he does have a propensity for attack and he does score a few goals.

i guess what i'm saying is wait and see. how boring of me.

COYS. i love you all.

Anonymous said...

OK Toxic, I'm being naive. Didn't realise Levy picks the team. You're spot on about JJ - couldn't help notice the way he gave the ball away up at Citeh (particularly playing Lennon into trouble for that first goal). And I bet the barcodes are still wetting themselves about us buying wimpy Jenas while they got midfield dynamo Barton. Bit difficult influencing the game from the chokey, ain't it?
To be honest, I would swap JJ for Essien or Fabregas or Arteta or Xavi. But it ain't gonna happen, is it?

"Used to be jol and now it's JJ"?

Summerspur how dare you! I've been slating JJ for years now. And proud of it. And I'll knit when I feel like it.

It seems to me that out beloved club, no matter how good the team, has had to suffer at least one incongruounce within its playing staff at least since I've been a supporter. Witness the likes of Lacey, Dozzell and Ramos to name but three. I'm sure many of you can come up with several more contenders. Loveable, hard-working lads to a man but ultimately a sorry chink in the armour. You will not see the likes of the top 4 putting up with 2nd raters for long and neither should we.

Harry Hotspur said...

Barton, midfield dynamo? Only watched him a few times, wasn't impressed. One you get past the hustle and bustle all I saw was a Sunderlandish very poor man's Joe Cole. Not rubbish, but very unexceptional.

Loving 'sorry chinks in the armour'... el is right of course.

All grand plans of elevating ourselves from mediocrity go west when they're left in the charge of men who 'go missing'.

Footy history books are adorned with the snapshots of those who were consistently good. Even for a limited period.

Not those who threatened forever. JJ has a second chance with JR. If he doesn't seize it he's scuppered at Spurs come next summer.

Market forces.

Anonymous said...

Er, HH, I was being sarcastic about Barton. But to be fair to the lad - if you're after someone to start a fight outside a MaccyD's at 5.30 in the morning, he's your man. Wet Spam will probably sign him now. So "dynamo" in the sense of an ineffective flashing light stuck on the back of a really old bike. Or wanker.

Boys, boys, boys remember onedavemackay's golden rule: If Jenas (or Zokora or anyone we aren't sure is any good) was at any of the top four clubs would he get a game ? If the answer is no how are they going to help us get in to the top four ?

Anonymous said...

onedavemackey...your rule is a perfect way to sum up this arguement..

and when JJ and Zokora for that matter is placed into that equation the answer ALWAYS comes out as a resounding "NO"

end of story.. if they're not good enough for the top 4 then why should we settle for second best..

end of arguement..goodbye JJ...move on.. bravo onedavemackey..

unfortunately by extending your rule to the rest of the team, we are left with one player, maybe two, if lennon's sorts his shit out.
