Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur: More Highlights Than An East End Barmaid

http://www.d1g.com/video/show/1626728 That first Ars*nal goal.

Robbo Saves.

Berba's goal which that anti Tottenham ****wit Andy Gray totally derided. I could go on a rant over this bald, vapid, has been sweaty sock and I still might. I don't want favours. I don't want our lads over reverred, just dealt a fair hand.

Robbie Keane takes the softest penalty since striker Wee Softee McSoftcentre first said to his penalty coach "Should I underhit it a wee bit more, boss?"

I'm gutted - Robbie Keane proved again he's just not the player to take us to the next stage or level we all so dearly want. As is always the case we were nearly there AGAIN. Even with the weaken side we matched them and played better than we did last season. Let's hope we get it right for the Semi Final.

Just another day as a Spurs Supporter. Spurs lose to Arsenal and we sign another player.

Must say absolutely gutted. Though glad O'Hara played well. Fucking Taraabt laughing and joking with the gooner scum after the game. Hope he doesn't realise yet how much we hate them or he can leave, I don't care how much potential he's got.

Top headline by the way HH

Well played Tottenham, I actually expect us to tonk you guys with your makeshift backline but that wasn't the case.

However you do have to admit that along with your injury crisis, we were nowhere near our usual best... it's like the players didn't even care that it was a derby (except Clichy, Adebayor and Bendtner).

Great result for Arsenal, well played from Tottenham. Reminded me almost of the NL Derby back in Highbury when we won from a Ljungberg deflection (03/04 I think) where it was very close and we were not at our best.

Not here to gloat.

gooner: Not at ya best? this wouldn't have anything to do with us playing well and breaking up your attacks and having ones of our own would it? You sound like you've listened to one too many sky pundit! We had a centre mid at right back,a right back at centre back, a 20 yr old making his first start at centre mid ,problems galore, you on the other hand had your best team possible bar van persie and we should of least got a point.Wenger should remember he aint dealing with cuddly bear jol no more and realise that when juande has a full team come jan and a couple of his signings, you will not be so lucky this semi, your arrogant boss will do his usual "play with the kids" against us which will mean half and half like last year, but we will be stronger and his arrogance will come back to haunt him. The only differance between you and us is wenger and we've finally got ourselves our very own proffessor!

As a diehard Arsenal fan I have to say it was a great game and spurs played very well, considering their absentees. O'Hara looks the real deal but I think we just about deserved a win. Most papers seem to agree but i cant blame spuds fans if they feel they deserved a point. They certainly did not deserve to win as some people may say here..but a draw.. perhaps.

was much better than last seasons capitulation there with a much weaker team out,we can hold our heads high

Like the rest of you, I am dissappointed with the result. However in all honesty, that is the first time in a long time that I truly felt we outplayed them and received an unjust result. While I am upset with the loss, I am certain that if we continue to play like that great things are on the horizon.

P.S. Tom the yid, are you sure Taarabt was not laughing at them? I think he set the world record for nutmegs in a five minute span. Maybe he was informing them of that fact.

Does anyone reckon that Ramos really wants a welsh 18 yr old left back? The guy might be brilliant but I'm sure he's not Ramos' first choice in world football. If the spurs board don't stop buying the players, since Jol is now quoted as saying he didn't buy any of our players in the summer, then how is Ramos going to be able to do his job? We played ok today but how long before Ramos gets hacked off with the way our club is run? I'm heartened by the performance but not at all optomistic for the future.

I too am gutted after watching my beloved spurs match and in some quarters outplay those woolwich wanderers.

The commentary that i was listening too had David Pleat as "guest commentator" and just before THAT penalty Pleaty said Keano DOES NOT miss penalties. Well suffice to say at that point i actually got worried cause the goon plonker mate of mine next to me was screaming blue murder at the pen but up until Pleaty said what he said i had already penciled in Keanos goal into the scoreline.

Pleat said if Keano misses im going home - well unfortunately Pleat didnt live up to his words and Keano proceeded to miss what i think is his first pen (im sure somebody will correct me if im wrong) for Spurs eva.

Leaving the pub i was left feeling something unusual though that i have not felt in years.

Yes we had lost to the goons which means my missus is due another pounding tonight but i actually felt some sort of happiness in the fact that my beloved patched up Ramos inspired spurs team matched and in many quarters beat the goons. This is a feeling that i have not had for some time and this time the result wasnt down to some bad referee call or last minute screamer of a goal from an opposition defender that has never scored against any other club in his whole life. This time it was Spurs that fucked it up but the fact of the matter was that the game was there for the taking by us had we had the gods smiling on us and Pleat not opening his big fat gob...

Morale of the story is my fellow spurs supporters, DO NOT lose faith in this loss, this is different to all the many others. This time WE had the opportunity and fluffed it ourselves. Next time maybe we will take that further step and beat what i consider the best playing goon team i have seen in 20years (believe me it hurts to say that!!!)

And to all the above plonkers who talk about Ramos having new transfers thrown on him that he is not happy about or that he has not requested, are you totally devoid of a brain??? This is the man that our board moved heaven and earth to secure his services, the board copped months of criticism for the manner in which they brought Ramos to the club and i am 1 million percent sure that Ramos would have said that he would have the ultimate decision on any player brought into our club or otherwise he wouldnt be coming to spurs. Ramos is the future for our club and the more you conspiracy theorists die an ugly death the more true supporters that see the positive nature that our club is charting will be able to believe and talk about the positive signs that are coming out of our club FINALLY.

O'hara was an absolute standout. That kid was total gold. Good on Ramos for throwing in a kid like him into such a massive game and showing him that with hard work goals can be achieved. For me, in all his games he has played for us this year, i feel so positive about him like when Aaron came on the scene a few years back. I'm sure that the sky is blue supporters can see that he is total gold and can you imagine Jol using O'hara and giving him an opportunity in such a big match. I dont think so. What about Ramos bringing on Adel. That was the perfect time for Adel to come on and start his nutmegs and stepovers. People if you cant see that we are getting there under this manager then throw yourselves off a bridge cause your just a negative plonker who will NEVER be satisfied.

As a club we have turned around full circle in only a few months and dont allow other negative sky is black and red supporters change your logical mind.

People, Ramos is going to be VERY GOOD for us and have faith that he has the knowledge and skill to bring our beloved club back to where it belongs and consign those conspiracy theorists to yesterdays news.

Say it loud and say it proud.....Come on you Spurs!!!

Love it how you lot think we give a shit about the fizzy pop cup. We are top of the league, have a great game against Milan coming up, the carling cup is the least of our priorities. For all gooners we have won the two games against you this season that we really care about i.e. the league. Beating an Arsenal reserve team in a cup we coulnt give two shits about is really not going to make up for the two league defeats. A defeat yesteray woul have hurt like mad and would have deal a huge blow to our title chances. Thanks to Robbie Keane we are top at xmas. Cheers Keano!

I was half expecting us to be trounced 4 or 5 nil given that our team was all raggedy, fresh-faced and busted up. The fact that it was so evenly balanced says a lot about how quickly Ramos has pushed us on from a 'back to the drawing-board' position. His organizational expertise is clearly some years of experience ahead of jol's. I also get the feeling from Poyet's post match interviews, that he(poyet) knows how to motivate. Bad cop to Ramos's good cop?

However it works; it works. If this is how it is with a beat up mis-matched first team, imagine when it hangs together properly.

My only concern is not making europe for next season.

Go on the Spurs!

My only concern is keeping Berbatov after this season. I have nightmares about a defoe-bent partnership up front.

Anonymous said...

Mr only concern is Robbie ''Cancer'' Keane. Sell him.

Anonymous said...

I'm pretty sure that's blasphemy, mate. Keano's a legend.

How can you have nightmares about Defoe and Bent up front? 2 England strikers. Personally, I think given a lengthy run they would flourish. Both are proven quality. Inane comments like yours make me sad to be a Spurs fan sometimes.
Oh well, Happy Xmas one and all (except Wrighty7 or any other Gooners reading this - I hope Santa nicks all your pikey presents and pisses in your Turkey).

Oh well just managing to pull the tail from below me legs after the miserable luck of the scum game...can you fucking believe it?...jammy cunts!

Anyway, we can all tuck into our xmas turkey, puddings what have you at least knowing that the future is a lot brighter under Ramos.

With a frighteningly patched up team he managed to get us playing with this calm determination that was unbelieveable. More than ever we played together as a team playing nice pass and move football whilst when off the ball numbering up winning the ball back on mumerous occasions. You know we've done alright when Fabregas' sting was well and truly numbed.

Ramos seems to have turned all the lack of confidence of the crap early season results to instill this new underdog fighting spirit...I love it, the mans very smart to say the least.

Also gone is this naive public talking us up pre-games and instead we're doing the talking on the pitch instead of through the press.

It used to really piss me off when the previous regime used to have everyone saying how we're gonna stuff the scum or whoever and then give them a point to prove making us look silly when we lost.

On Saturday we came out with respect, which isn't as good as getting the result admitedly, but leaves me looking forward to watching our next games with a bundle of optimism...like most other fellow yiddos I'm finally enjoying watching us play again, instead of watching on in pain.

Hapy Xmas Everyone!

P.S. Didn't the boy O'Hara do well?...so calm and confident with beautiful simplistic passes, a great introduction to the first team squad...credit to JR for having the balls to give him a go.

Anyone know what the Arsenal-Tottenham score was the other day?

Dannyboy

Thanks for that pearl of wisdom. I had no idea that defoe and bent played for England. I've clearly made an egregious lapse in judgement. I only hope you can forgive me and accept me back into your brotherhood of acceptable Spurs supporters. "Both are of proven quality." I guess I can't argue with that, mate. That's an impeccable argument. I have to admit, I still think that Defoe and Bent can never hope to be as good together as Berbatov and Keane are, but I suppose I'll learn in time, if you'll bear with me. Sorry to have made you sad to support Spurs. It really must be irritating to have such foolish supporters as me in the same internet realm as you.

Merry Christmas Dannyboy. i still love you.

wrighty7,

it could be argued that not only did your team of dandys scrape a win at home. But given the state of our team on the night, we will probably improve around 60 to 70% under Ramos, whereas yours might improve, what 20? 30%? I'll leave you to do the maths.

You got beat by Middlesbrough and only just beat a shredded Spurs team in your own stadium. Tut tut! Win the league?

Let's wait and see shall we.
