Tottenham Hotspur vs Derby County : Prematch Prattle

This is ridiculous. Apparently both teams are only fielding 11 men.
Clearly my suggested tactics have been vetoed, even from CH's bumper jotter.

Oh well, value is still very much out there...
Perhaps due to the abysmal stat that Sir Anthony Gardner is our current top (and only) striker... we are a huge 6/1 for a 1-0 win onwards...Pick yer win and land yer price...

If the doom/thrill seeker merchants fancy a punt then it is out there and tailor made for them....

Half time Derby, Full Time Tottenham is a nervy but rewarding 28/1.

Team news: The Official site team news is such a muddled read but it seems that Michael Dawson is now added to the King, Berba, Kaboul, Lennon and Tainio... pile up in the medical room.

So in summary...

HH is backing Jol... %) , Jolsgonemental is backing Tottenham......

& Dannyboy's wanting anti Jol oafs to master basic mathematics & work out we ain't done yet... :)))

COYS!

Boateng is in the squad maybe time Jermaine(thinks he's a)Jenias to go. I no he hasnt had much match time but whats the point in having him in the squad if he isnt available?
Taarabt and Routledge are a must and i would play Chimbo and Gardner in the centre of defence with stalts and rocha on the right and left wings respectively with bent and defoe upfront

Harry Hotspur said...

The word on Taylor is... No one is saying anything of a reliable nature!

Sorry...

Anon 11:43...Taylor's number has been registered. They cannot asign that number to another player while Taylor is there. Stop believing sh*t on the web.

thanx harry!!! i hope we do sign him very soon.

Cerny, Ifil Chimbonda Rocha Gardner (LB), Routledge Huddlestone Boateng Taraabt, Bent DeFoe...best we've got but won't happen..more likely Robinson, Chimbonda Gardner Rocha Staltieri, Malbranque Jenas Zokora Keane, Bent DeFoe

Whichever team, if they can't beat Derby convincingly then the problems are deeper than anyone knows

finally mr.jol has seen sum sense by playing some creative players in midfield and with more balance. defence looks very dodgy though. i predict spurs win with a bent double or hat trick with hudd providing the ammunition!!!!! COYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well harry, i've stuck a fiver on us to win 3-2 today with a 155 return! Got a feeling we will bag a few today, allbeit scrappy :(

Obviously there was nothing to worry about!!! 4-0 now. On a more serious note a certain Paul Gascoigne was spotted in Duquesa Port, Spain with a pint and a fag on the go around midday today, so if we need a creative midfielder he appears to be available...

That was more like it! Steed and Jenas showed why they're in the squad. Routledge I thought was a good option down the right wing, why doesn't he play there more? He wasn't offside either and deserved a goal. Also playing Hud was a great idea given he's a former Ram and Zokora's lack of form. Taarabt had some nice touches and will be great coming off the bench. For those putting money down on Jol's sacking, I hope you'll learn a costly lesson. BMJ deserves more respect for what he's done for this club and its fickle fans. Losing patience after the first week makes us look like morons.

Jol out ... your 'avin a laugh then. Now shut-up.

Bloody hell Harry we only needed 11 men after all.

Even though it was only Derby, great result today with all the odds going against us at the mo and no premiership game is easy, so to win 4-0 with makeshift players was great to see.

Loads of positives;

Derby hardly touched the ball...were they even on the pitch?

Thudd was stroking the ball around Carrick-esque, but sometimes even better with his long range and penetrative passes where it was hurting most.

Taraabt, great entry in the second half, used in the right places could make a Arron Lennon 1st season type impact, but on the left mid where we need it the most...great skills, great confidence, I expect to see a lot more of him from now on.

Who would have thought when the season began that of the 5 goals we would score in our opening games, only 1 has been scored by our super dooper strikers.

Bring on the "fickle" police lol!

Well done the Spurs!...another result against the Mancs will do us nicely...:0)

i still dont understand the anti-jenas attitude. I know he scored today and that will silence his critics for another few days until the build up to the ManUre game but surely this goal alone secured his place in your hearts...

yes yes yes 4-0 is fab BUT and i stress BUT did you watch as we switched off in the second half.

At half time a mate of mine was saying to me (scouser) remember man city, remember manure and so i couldnt celebrate or show any positive emotion as i was more than aware that we have imploded in the past.

In the early parts of the second half we looked like we wanted to play at derbys level and not a continuation of the first halfs intensity. why do we do that? it must be psychological and im sure the manager would have the shrinks in this week to speak to the players about that cause we should NEVER take the pedal off the gas when we are driving a million miles an hour. Just remember though all you people that are saying 4-0 is great that and that we are back, this was against a very poor derby who after that display will be odds on to go back to championship (although i saw them against the black cats and they were so much better than that).

But please remember we have the Amish of the north this weekend coming and this is a totally different kettle of fish and this game will REALLY show where we are.

All in all a very satisfying display with routledge playing well the T-Hudd having a great game and taarabt making himself quickly the love of the lane with his willingess to take on players and live up to our motto - to dare is to do. Go Adel and hopefully BMJ will give you more of a chance in the future... i may sound negative and believe me i only want the best for my beloved spurs who i have been supporting for 27 years but 1 slightly above average game does not make us back to where we should in all rights be at. lets hope we show the first half game against the amish this weekend and i will be much more happy not even taking into account the final result...COYS
