Darren Bent scored on his first outing in a Tottenham shirt in a 3-1 pre-season friendly win at Stevenage Borough on Saturday.

Bent, the £16.5million signing from Charlton, earned the penalty for Robbie Keane's opener after 18 minutes at Broadhall Way.

He then raced onto Steed Malbranque's pass to finish from the edge of the area in the 46th minute after Ollie Allen - son of former Spurs hero Clive - had levelled for the Blue Square Premier outfit just before the break.

Spurs youngster Adel Taarabt added the third with 23 minutes remaining when his tame shot from long distance crept in.

I'm a Spurs fan but due to work issues have a Stevenage season ticket so feel qualified to comment. First half Spurs strolled around the pitch and allowed Stevenage to have their share of possession without causing us too much bother. Bent made some good touches and Keane was sheer class. Taarabt was trying so hard to make an impression and sometimes this lead him to dwell on the ball too much. Second half Spurs upped the tempo for 10 mins and scored twice. It was then a case of keep ball and served it's purpose as a good run out. Taarabt played LM 2nd half and was better though again he seemed to be trying too hard to impress..... very promising though . All in all a good day with Bent scoring a good goal and no injuries.

3 things stand out from the photos;

- I didn't realise Chris Hughton had come out of retirement! Check out the 8th picture!
- Look at the f***ing size of Kaboul!!! I think Jol, hopefully, has learnt from last season with giving away too many soft goals. Kaboul looks like a part time bouncer!
- 5 players to stop Taarabt ???

Should be interesting next season......

Clive Allen was one of my all time favourites. How old's his son?
