Spurs Fans In the Dock Part 2

Congratulations to all the brain surgeons who posted comments on HH this afternoon telling me that when fans called out in a deep monotone, 'Steeeeeeeeeeeeed' they were in fact ...er doing just that.

Without you to illuminate the cyber gloom in the darkness we'd all remain, eh?

So no congratulations at all then, to the sorry gang of patronizing (wannabe but not quite) know it alls who delighted in chipping with their utterly useless comments.

I told you I heard booing.
I never said the majority were booing.
And if you didn't hear any booing does that mean there was then categorically no booing in any part of the 35,000 plus stadium?
A small piece of advice. Sometimes, be told.

I was in the Park Lane Upper and several of people near me passed comment on the abuse. Perhaps I should have recorded it..... Would you believe that that one moron wrote unless the majority were booing, then why write the piece??? Only a handful of hooligans were fighting Chelsea up at the White Horse, so we'll ignore that too, yeah?

But to the matter in hand...

Next up, Hossam Ghaly.

Today, he had his well worded apology put up on the official site.

"I knew things weren't happening for me out there, my play was terrible and I could hear the crowd jeering me. I was so upset at the fans' reaction."

Now working on the basis that he was jeered as his play was pretty awful...my question is, was that acceptable from the so called fans and do any of you who did abuse him think

a) that your abuse would improve his play
b) that you had any hand in him ultimately hurling away the shirt?

The fans pay extortionate prices to watch their team (and as such help pay the extremely high wages of players) and therefore have every right to express their opinion on how the team is playing, positive or negative.

Your argument would mean nothing ever changed, that is, we would have the same players, managers and chairmen as to get rid of them would be to risk a negative effect on the club

1st comment.

That's bollocks. Booing a player never improves him and causes the fiasco of the other night.

Have to disagree. We should never boo a player who wears our colours - what use it that!?

Boo the team at the end if they've been shi*te but otherwsie, keep you mouths schtum!

On Ghaly, let it bloody rest! He's apoogised and so should the muppets who booed his every touch than chanted "you're a c**t"! The only c**ts were the guys that called him that!

Now lets get back to serious issues and not this pathetic, trivial nonsense!

"abuse improve his play". For feck sake - what the feck are you on HH!?

of course it is hard to argue with the simple statement that a lot of money has been handed over and therefore there is a right to express unhappiness. it is also absolutely true that booing aplayer never improved his performance. tg looked somewhat nervous after his all too typical error for the first goal. he might well have played better if cheered next time he touched the ball as a means of encouraging, then again he might as easily have made another error as he is really quite hopeless.

Booing the player is booing the shirt. I agree with an earlier comment they love a 'boo' at the lane..

The idea that people on here this morning were disputing that is incredible.Well done for pointing that out to the brain surgeons Perhaps it is they who ought to get down there more often...

"abuse improve his play". Where did you get that quote from, dickhead? Not from the article......

Anonymous said...

I sit in the east lower and from what I can hear (yes, my hearing is fine), everyone said Steeeed and didn't hear one boo.

Why boo Steed? He needs to do more next season but one big gripe I have it the dickheads that moan about anything and everything. We've been 5th for the 2nd time on the trot and this hasn't happend since the early 80's yet people still moan! lets get Hoddle or Graham back - maybe they'll be happier!? Tossers!

"abuse improve his play" is there - I can fekcing see it!

Specsavers anyone?

Lets talk about next seasons ticket prices, prices of the new shirts (all four of 'em), the transport, rebuilding WHL, what's the best pub near the ground, will Levy sell out to a billionaire, will we ever catch the scum, will we...etc etc.

Anonymous said...

No disrespect H, but some of the fans you have on here...

Did anyone hear me order two beers and a pie from the counter at PL Upper?

Then how do you know I did?

Keith

You're the one missing out a word retard

Im a season ticket holder and i felt i had a right to call ghaly a cunt when he threw the shirt on the floor. i have stuck up for him all season, coz i think hes ridiculously skillful and will become a decent player in the next year, but for people to say i shouldnt boo him and so on is stupidity. I have spent over £2000 on my team this this season, and i feel i have a right to show my feeling if a player is playing poorly.

I hope he doesnt go, but he xcertainly needs a huge fine.

And as for booing making people play worse...bollocks...look at ronaldo, savage, diouf etc...once you start booing them they almost always do something to shut you up...bastards

"Retard" - well done, what a thoughtful post.

Just wished we could have a serious decent conversation about something that matters!

Just have to disagree with the earlier guy about booing Ghaly. Did you boo his every touch!? Do you think that works? I spend shed loads on Spurs too but I don't boo a player wearing a Spurs shirt. Ronaldo was booed by other supporters, like Diouf so i can't see you argument to be honest. Ghaly will not improve when he's booed every time he touches the ball...

fans cheer fans boo thats what its all about we all have opinions some more than others who gives a fuck what anybody else thinks everyone except me and you are cunts.

Anonymous said...

Well done to the poster above! Please use commas etc. Its not hard!

For what it's worth I would never book a player that's having a bad game unless he wasn't puting the effort in.

Ghaly looked to me as though he was trying to hard to find that killer pass. On the effort front he always seems to put it in lets not forget he played half a game for us with four teeth knocked out, I'm prepared to give the guy another chance.

Thanks graham poll.

I'm Ghaly's dentist.

When I asked him to pass the mouth wash he hit the lamp above the chair with the glass and then stormed out the surgery.

I did not boo.

The fact is that what he did was pathetic. It seems that the Egyptians have a major temprement problem if Ghaly and Mido are examples. I was baffloed by BMJ's decision to re-sign Mido, after all, he has already experienced his petulance. As far as Ghaly is concerned I'm not bothered either way. he apologised for being a c*nt. Ok...now that he's done that we need to consider whether or not he's worth keeping before telling him to fuck off. Would we be having this discussion if Berba threw his shirt off in frustration???
Possibly not.

Once on the pitch we should not boo our players but nevertheless his treatment of the shirt was out of order and he must be finished now. Let's face it he would never be on a first choice team sheet if everybody was fit so no major loss.

In his defence though I don't like the Jol habit of subbing a sub. I don't think I had ever seen it until he did it to Routledge last season and last week he did it again. It cannot help a players confidence and with everything to gain against Blackburn Jol could have brought on Keane straight away.

Booing Ghali is out of order. He's just not that bad. I've seen a lot worse at Spurs over the years and at least he tries.

Murphy, on the other hand, can fuck off and die.

pissing myself - comment of the week !!!!!

on the question, never ever ever boo a spurs player. end of. save your abuse for the other side. booing your own fellow lilywhite is a disgrace. ghaly was crap against blackburn, but at least he was trying.

and mr hotspur, a bit 2 faced by you? i recall immediately after the game you put up a post that totally castigated ghaly, which then mysteriously disappeared? tip - never write in anger. now go and kill yourself ;-)

by the way, have you got a job? i've never seen so many new posts on a blog in one day !!!

COYS

Anonymous said...

the biggest problem with booing is it that it's totally indiscriminate - i.e. who are you booing? ref? opposition? mother-in-law? and why? boring? dirty? crap?
Give Boo Boys The Boot!!!
They are a bunch of short term wankers!

Anonymous said...

IMO when a player makes mistakes we should get behind the mighty SPURS and should not boo the player! EVER!!! COYS!!! BMJ knows when a player is playing crap and he will sub that player and give someone else an opportunity to make a difference which is exactly what he did on the day. But when Ghaly threw the shirt as BMJ said "The fans had a right to show their anger". Everyone knows you don't throw the shirt!!! The fans had a right to abuse him for that!!!

Anonymous said...

cyberfans and phone-in text specialists are always demanding that players play with 'passion' - these players from Egypt seem to have more than most - e.g. Mido when he got subbed in African Nations
what do you want? players that care and show it or a bunch of baby bentley driving wag shagging mercenaries?
Ghaly has talent - goals in Turkey and Chamford Bridge
In the heat of the moment he made a mistake, fans - use your heads, show him you understand and forgive him and he'll repay you many time over

Anonymous said...

. . . . of course, I meant Chavford Bridge . . .

Dannyboy - The Ghaly piece is still there mate, with me wishing he was at Heathrow Departures if I recall correct!

There is some difference between me writing that and calling him a c*nt repeatedly... no?

I won't have the shirt thrown on the floor by anyone - even if that anyone has been targeted by tosspots who ought support the players and not hide behind the old 'I pay their wages guff.'

The players are our gladiators... the mob must be appeased, but my feeling is that as a chap put earlier, any booing ought be done at the end. Let the chairman know his revenue is in danger. But don't berate a guy who's game is in free fall. It's disloyal to the badge.

Remove the badge from the poor guy and move on...

9.15 you need a more sophisticated IP hider you sorry little runt.

All your comments are getting binned from hereon in..... unless you use your real name. Which you know I know. Then you'll be indulged.

Dannyboy, HH is well and truly retired, mate. Ask the Met!

HH, I can't see us signing many players this summer. I believe the managers at the club feel the squad is good enough. They will use the money to build the club's training facilities, ground and area surrounding the ground.
