A 10 for 30-minutes work? Granted, he scored the winning goal, but there were far better players on the pitch. As for the low scores for Jenas, LYP and Gardner, I thought they all had reasonable games, certainly worthy of a 6.5 or higher. Frankly, I thought the entire team played well (with the exception of Ghaly, who falls over with the frequency of a toddler learning to walk). Your blog I know, but a little objectivity is always good, and marking players down because you didn't like them is a little meh. Having said that, you could always truly believe that they played poorly I guess. To each his own, and all that.
what about Adel Taarabt
Harry - you can't blame Robinson for the first goal it was unstoppable. He was to blame for the freekick (i think that's what you meant) and arguably the 3rd as he was out of position.
The amount of shoddy off-side calls does make it seem like JD was offside a lot, but good on the boy for stepping up and slotting that penalty.
yesterday was Defoe who had two strapped fingers. what's wrong with our forwards' hands these days? what the hell have they been doing with their fingers?
daaahhh!!!
How good does Taarabt look, i know only just about 10mins played but the management have been crowing over him, can't wait to see him at home for 90mins.
ghaly has been awful every game that i've seen him play, why does martin jol keep taking chances on him, i've seen nothing positive from him other than the fortunate goal he scored in the uefa cup off his knee... can anyone shed some light onto why he keeps getting the nod? I hope Adel is shaping up to be his replacement, we promised him first team football didn't we?
Taarabt does look good (although he only played for 10 mins), What agreement do we have in place for him? I know he is on loan but do we have a first option to sign him??? Otherwise, we must be careful and hope that other teams dont pinch him from us.He definately looks like a player for the future, i have seen him play before and he will be class.
Sorry for missing Taarabt off. Blogger is playing up something rotten... and I lost the will to live... nearly missed Lennon as it was...
Adel looked very sharp.
More please.
@ Michael (3.38)...
Ghaly got the nod because Malbranque is injured and we literally have nobody else.
A couple of Defoe's offsides were infact onside, so I blame shitty linesmen for some of his lack of chances.
Agreed Stalteri did well but I feel you should give him 9 and Berbatov 10. He deserves a lot because his continued running on the final break was the sole reason we won.. big kudos. However, Berba was generally great, not just for his free kick but the run and cross to Lennon for Tainio's goal was absolutely perfect. Plus he was the only one to do much attacking in the first half.
"The only thing wrong with White Hart Lane is that the seats face the pitch" Les Dawson
what does that mean
who is harry? good question. i bet harry is a chick.

It could be a jokey pokey by avery funny man.
Lighten up, son.
It’s been a long-difficult day. Serious big job interview has gone impossibly wrong when everything was there for the taking at one stage (around half-time).
I spend the day shifting in the eat at my office desk…anxious, drained, nervous. Awaiting the call from the recruitment agent. The call that would launch me out of this misery and propel me into the outter stratospheres of vocation…my big break...
The call doesn’t come. Yeah they’ll call in the morning. I my hands itch to make the call. To know whether I’m a winner or a loser. The call doesn’t come.
The entire night ahead of me agonising over this job..this saviour of my spirit. Friends suggest I pray. I’m a non-believer so that’s no use…
…Instead I sit with a six pack of lager watching shorts of Berbatov’s goals on this site…and links to youtube. There are two that I have watched about twenty times already(I’m on my third can). The last two have ACTUALLY brought real tears to my eyes. Oh yes I was on the verge of bawling watching Berba jinx a defender, dance pass the goalkeeper and curl the ball past the outstretched leg of a hapless defender.
Everytime I watch things feel a bit better, about my job, about my sorry life, even about my ex-girlfriend(who I hate) – all of these irks wash away from me as I watch through the mist in my eye the grace and poise and beauty of Berbatov.
And so I realise that He has made me feel better. He has healed me. He makes my heart leap with joy when I think of Him.
I’ll spend the rest of my evening thinking of hymns to sing to Him. I’ll watch him weave his magic; I’ll even manage the occasional smile just to know that He plays for Spurs!
Berbatov is God.
Can’t smile without you
hehehehehe! hello! is there anybody out there who isn't in love with Berbatov? hello? man, woman, cat, dog, pundit, manager, rock, bone, leaf, bla, bla, bla ? what a flow of horny writing and sighing around the world this is. maybe this is the world orgasm certain activists wanted to have one certain day at a certain time. it's now, it's ecstatic. a girl cried "berba I want to have your babies", others have just found god. hello? poor guy, I believe he is going to escape to a desert island before he's sh...d to death !
good comments liked the one bout berba and just so evry1 knows BERBATOV IS GOD!!! and taraabt lookin good!!
uau ! what an epiphany!
does god love us all? or does he love someone else?
he loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me not...
does he a bit? does he a lot?
let us pray, brethren!
(Berba's woman, whoever she is, she must be either a very happy or a very jealous creature,or perhaps both...)
and Berba's mum too, by the way...
Re:7.14pm anon.
Now that's what I call a post. More from your diary in future please.
Re: The match.
Well the plaudits are great and I agree there's much to enjoy but am I the only one who feels a tinge of unease at the fact that during a great run of form we've let in 6 goals over the past 4 games and 3 of them were against the premiership's bottom club? I've stuck up for Jol for some time now (and will continue) but I do wish he hadn't played into west ham's hands and put out a 'tough' but not particularly skillful midfield. As soon as he was pushed into fielding Hud & late on Taarabt we stared playing past them with ease. Just a thought.
Re:Taarabt query.
I'm lead to believe that he's on loan due to age/paperwork issues and will sign properly once he is 18 years of age. I could be mistaken though. Any other info welcome. I also tend to think that he is here eventually to replace Jenas who doesn't do enough often enough.
Next 2 league games; watford & reading. 6 points? Should be. Here's hoping.
Go on the Spurs!
please check the archives of this same blog and remind yourselves what you wrote about the new found god not so long ago. you should beg for forgiveness on your knees, because the gods can be ruthless, mates !
this is ridiculous: yesterday a prick, today a god, tomorrow down the toilet. get a grip, peolpe, get some cold showers, please!

Forget the job interviews (unless they were as a sports reporter) and get yourself a publishing contract. Nick scumbag Cornby did well out of fever pitch, you should wipe the floor with him.
Good luck!
You can watch that Besiktas goal over and over again....I know!
harry, dear, leave the poetry for a bit and correct the spelling on the Poll. how do 92 per cent want to brag about in a languague they ignore the name in the first place? PORTUGUESE, PLEASE .
By the way Braga means... pants, it's the city of pants. not hard to see a few jokes about who's going to lose the pants...
of course it's language, me sorries, maties, we all have troubles with uuu today it seems

you're great. who are you? do leave a contact, so we can talk about sha..ing.
@ El (8.48)..
Jol admitted that there was a tactical problem which is why he put Huddle on at half time so at least he's correcting mistakes with enough time left!
as for the (5.. not 6) goals in 4 games.. West Ham have beaten a couple of impressive teams at home this season (even if that's all they've done), plus they need 3 points so bad they'd probly sell their own mothers so goals from them would be expected.
The everton free kick should never have been given as Daws was fouled before he committed one (and was taken superbly anyway).
Bolton was a penalty.. not much that could be done there except not give away the pen I guess. Even so it wasn't as if Keane could have done much (of course his arm moved up.. he'd just been hit in the chest by a football).
So 2 goals conceded through a bit of misfortune and 3 goals scored by a team who were intent on winning no matter the cost. Not a bad show in my eyes.
The look on the hammers faces with tears in their eyes is a joy to behold.
However, we still have some things to address...
Stalteri, he is still not very good, I think he had his 'Rocket Ronny Rosenthal' moment on Sunday.
Robinson, far too many mistakes this season in general, a good keeper is judged on not the saves they make but the mistakes they make. He needs to sort it out.
Finally...Defoe is beginning to really annoy me, granted he scored a penalty to double his away goal tally to...2 goals, the other coming from ..yes you guessed it, a penalty at Villa.
When Berbatov and Keane play, they seem to have an understanding with each other, however when Defoe plays it all seems to be about Defoe. I know some strikers need to have selfish streak in them, but he is just not scoring or creating the chances. Jol has said that Defoe scores goals for fun...well lets see it.
One last thing..."Jermaine Defoe, He is a yiddo"...well actually he has pubicly stated he is a boyhood Arsenal fan. So (although the chant ryhmes quite nicely) lets have less of the blind adulation for someone who is now a pretty average striker please.
Read Jol's veredicts after the game: he praised Defoe and criticised Berba. What do you call this? a brainless Shrek? a sadist in disguise?
Your thoughts on this, please( I believe I'll enjoy this one, I bet!)
Berbatov is exhibiting all the signs of being an absolute legend. (I worked that one out all on my own).
With Mido seemingly drifting further off the radar and Robbie suddenly rediscovering a thang called 'goalscoring' BMJ obviously feels Defoe needs a cuddle. Calm.
All I want is Berbatov's wages to go through the roof and THE CLUB to make a genuine commitment to him.
He's first choice striker as things stand and I for one DEMAND that that is only reinforced in direct correlation to his gorgeous play.
Too much?
Naaaah.
Jol is an idiot. He said he didn't trust Berbatov's free-kicking quality. It's unbelievable! some fans even thought that he had put him to it: as it is, it was Berbatov who told him he was an expert since he was a kid and after performing that wonder goal, what does Jol say: let's see if he's good enough or if it was one off!!! Defoe needs cuddles, yeah, and Jol needs a kick in the ass!Creep! One thing I'm sure, if Berbatov leaves it will be because he's got enough of Jol's cuddles.
bloody hell, if berbatov leaves it'll be for the same reason that carrick did.
as for hossam ghaly, he is like that embarrassing relative who gets absolutely smashed drunk before family gatherings and dribbles spit all over himself and makes everyone else uncomfortable. at least that's how i feel when someone asks me who he is out there on the pitch. although i wonder if ghaly would do more good if he'd had a few before matches, he certainly couldn't do worse.
