Hey all, I steward at The Lane in the Paxton lower, and it is made clear to us all the time that it is an arrestable offence for anyone to go on the pitch. Nuff said. It would be interesting to see how everyone reacted if a Chelski fan had run on the pitch and twatted Ghaly when he celebrated at Scumford Bridge!
What happened to the 2nd person who ran on the pitch, who incidentally was a Chelski fan ?
A lifetime ban imo is too harsh. The boy is 18, so does that mean if he lives to 80, he gets banned from seeing Spurs at the lane for 62 years? WOW. He was pissed up and had been on an all day bender apparantley, no excuse I know, but doesn't everyone deserve a 2nd chance? It seems as if it was on the spur of the moment due to the influence of Alchopops.
He wasnt carrying a blade tho was he..wait wat if he was carry a gun or drove on in a tank? for fuck sake, at most it was a half attemp at a punch n e way!
While I don't condone his actions it just goes to show how 'out of touch' our club is with the fans. I seem to remember half the stadium applauding him!
Good Ridence to the young lad. That game was on national tv and shown around the world. We don't needs so called ''fans'' like him ruining the good name of THFC !!!! We're a good club with the best fans in the country home and away end of and all he did was show how bad losers we were on the night.
To Harry Hotspur : If u read the news then you would know Drogba is getting away with it. If the fan wasn't on the pitch in the first place then it would not have got to that stage where he was being stamped on. He deserved it.
I do disagree because he has been cleared of any wrong doing. This is fact. I'm not sticking up for him but fact also remains if the guy hadn't gone on the pitch in the first place he would not have found himself in the position of being stamped on by Drogba. Get over it !
2 wrongs make a right? I call it the FA being soft pussys who are run by dinosaurs, who, perish the thought would want to show double standards. Wenger was punished for his spat with Pardew, why not Drogba ?!
The boy needs to be taken aside and told, "Eh Timmy...never let your emotions get the better of you and never let anyone know what you're tinking out side of da family!" (to be said in your best hoarse Marlon Brando voice).
I think it wasnt harsh enough, id have let the players at him, i deserves a kicking, stupid tosser!! we all want to swing for certain players sometimes but he overstepped the mark. And YES I am a spurs fan YCHS!
Hindsight is a wonderful thing and I think that when young Tim reflects on his actions, he will regret them. The incident was comical, yet could have been very serious, and he deserved to be punished. How would fans feel if UEFA stepped in and kicked the club out of europe a la Feyenoord? On balance, I think the club should consider a reprieve, say after 5 years, giving him time to mature.
Cantona actually made contact with a fan and was only banned for 9 months?
Maybe being a millionaire footballer means you deserve special privileges and being a paying punter means you get treated harshly. It seems to me there is something wrong with this?
If only the England team would get so upset when they loose...
This is all about political correctness, setting an example to deter others etc... Are we still going to be punishing the guy when he's say 40 for something he did at 18 ? - running on a pitch is hardly a capital offence .
How times change ? Some of us are old enough to remember a mass pitch invasion ( caused by overcrowding in certain parts of the ground following the installation of new barriers )before a Spurs V Chelsea match in 1975. There followed a mass punch up on the pitch before TV cameras and all ( yours truly was watching from the shelf).Don't remember hearing of any lifetime bans being handed out then. Incidentally Spurs won 2-0 following a brilliant winner by Alfie Conn - some of us can remember beating Chelsea on a regular basis and are confident normal service will be resumed shortly.I would hope our 18 year old delinquent will be allowed to enjoy some of these victories in a few years when he's become more responsible ?...I fail to see how this would be opening the floodgates back to the 'bad old days'.
The fucking twat can't take his beer and was a dick. It doesn't matter if he is 18 or 80, running on to the pitch and trying to chin a player on National TV is so gay that he deserves to be banned from the Lane for life and get one up the arse from a Fat Frank look-alike!!
Anyone who runs onto a pitch and throws a punch, whether drunk or not, is the same type of twat as those who get drunk in town centers all over the country every friday night and then start hitting people for "looking at my bird" or whatever. Ban for life is fine by me. In fact, castration wouldn't bother me much either. The fewer fathers of that ilk around the better for all of us.
i say arise sir tim. about time some one tried to clump the fat tosser. tim should have the freedom of the city. he should never have to pay for a drink again. lets disguise him when we play arsenal fill him up with lager and let him loose on that german ponce of a goalkeeper. hehehehehehehehehehehe.

And another thing.... What are the FA going to do about Drogba?
Was he stamping on young Tim 'in self defence'?????

Anon, 3.43...
I read lots of news, thanks.
Drogba immeadiately put himself into the very same bracket of thug when he stamped on the 'hooligan'.
Or do you disagree?

Mate that guy shouldn't of been banned but he also shouldn't of missed! should drop kicked him that would of been so funny!!!
nice try tho!
HE SHOULD BE BANNED FOR MISSING THE TARGET!! SHOULD HAVE KNOCKED THAT C*NT LAMPARD OUT
how the fuck do they enforce a ban, a mate could get hold of ticket for him, all he has to do id put a false tash on
Okay, he could have been carrying WMD. Etc. etc.

You haven't got a leg to stand on. Drogba is a f**king animal and failed to conduct himself much better than the twat who's been banned.
I asked was anything being done about Drogba to flush clowns like you out and it worked a treat.
Shame on the pair of you...
poor timmy he's only 18,he deserves another chance he might he might land it next time!!!
fanaticism, ignorance and empty lifes: ban football !

Surely if the fan hadn't taunted Cantona in the first place then he wouldn't have reacted?
But he did react, and was punished for doing so.
Which leads me to the conclusion that Drogba should be punished for stamping on the fan.
