In my 45 years of support this goes down as the biggest public (self initiated)humiliation of the club (lets Irving Scholar off the hook!). Although I wanted him to go, and overall it was for the best in my point of view, it was still a bit sad when I heard the news.

I do however, feel a bit guilty as I, like many others didn't get the news until I left the game (a rare ten minutes early I might add, in disgust) and chose not to join in with the "I love Martin Jol" chants, which I would have done had I have known.

Can't blame him for dragging it out, who wouldn't with four million on offer? I'm 100% sure the players new before kick-off, they looked deflated and dis-interested.

Good Luck to you MJ, cheers for the past two seasons, not only the restored faith in THFC, but the fact that you delivered it with diplomacy, never hid, never pointed fingers, took it all on the chin, like a man and showed how a football club should behave in the face of adversity (Mendes goal at OT etc)

Unfortunately, ultimately you had to go but i cant help feeling that the problems were not ALL of your design.

Get yourself some silverware big man and prove certain people ie the "good riddance" men wrong.

Christ its like he's died isnt it?!!?

The whole situation has been a drain of everyone though and hopefully this can be the catalyst we need to get our stuff together, just as Chelshit did when Mourinho replace Ranieri.GRAZZAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02354278417301116755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23687321.post-4354475821689332982007-10-26T04:43:00.000+02:002007-10-26T04:43:00.000+02:00Farewell Boss Martin Jol. Whatever we manage to do from here on, we owe you big time for giving us the chance to do so. On your broad back, and yours alone, we achieved 5th place league positions and European tours. As a result a season that promised so much has turned into a season of overwhelming disappointment. It has been painfully obvious for over two seasons that defensively and in midfield we have been woeful. We cannot defend leads or win the midfield in any match. We have had some very talented players going forward who have consistently scored goals but increasingly they have become isolated and exposed and their frustration leads to loss of form. These players feed off confidence and success and you only have to look at Berbatov to how this has affected him and to see what is going through his mind.

We did manage fifth spot twice but in each case it was a scramble and we lost vital matches when we were in front through a combination of poor tactics and poor defending.

It is the managers job along with the coaching staff to deal with these issues and the fact that Jol hasnt in my book says everything about why his departure is long overdue...

I just pray and hope that Ramos who seems to be the prime target delivers and quickly... we cannot afford another Santini debacle and the best we can really hope for this season is to secure European football for the club for next...

The Board to should look at themselves and the way they have conducted the affairs of this great club... the only saving grace is the fact that its their stock value that is taking a hit and rightly so..........Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23687321.post-295589457332893432007-10-26T00:25:00.000+02:002007-10-26T00:25:00.000+02:00I've been saying Jol out for a while now, but stil...I've been saying Jol out for a while now, but still sad to see him go. A thoroughly nice chap, but in the end the only barometer can be team performances and results, and this season with the squad and resources at his disposal, the words that describe what we have seen so far this season are disjointed, disorganised, mismanaged and uninspired. Good luck wherever you go Mr Jol, we thank you for two seasons that brought a renewed hope to Spurs fans over the world, but it was plainly obvious to me from the moment we lost to Chelsea in the FA Cup that you didnt really have a clue.

Surrey YidAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
