Even though they won't have the footballing brain and talent that our squad posseses, they will no doubt try and triumph using raw brawn and a mighty Roy Keane fuelled adrenaline rush...GO ON THE SPURS...LETS WRAP UP OUR FIRST 3 POINTS!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23687321.post-18361945820786621762007-08-09T15:21:00.000+02:002007-08-09T15:21:00.000+02:00Went to the game on tuesday, very 'lively' for a f...Went to the game on tuesday, very 'lively' for a friendly, The Hud even had to break up a fight between two Grays defenders!
Taarabt was awesome but the rest were pretty ordinary. Winning friendlies is a great way to warm up but it only starts to mean something from saturday. We have to get off to a good start if we're to make a serious assault on the top 4. Sunderland will probably try to upset our rhythm and muscle us out of the game. We need to bamboozle them from the word go with an onslaught of pace and creative passing until we're 2 or 3 nil up and then just keep the ball til the final whistle.....

That's how it goes in my head anyway. We should have WAY too much for them. Surely?

Go on the Spurs!ELhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11264932149781351329noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23687321.post-68686222020926890332007-08-08T13:57:00.000+02:002007-08-08T13:57:00.000+02:00not up to your usual 'live' standard H, but welcom...not up to your usual 'live' standard H, but welcome nonetheless!
keep it up.
3 days and counting.....

coysAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23687321.post-24763920686790976272007-08-08T09:52:00.000+02:002007-08-08T09:52:00.000+02:00left back from bilbao i think, 17yrs oldleft back from bilbao i think, 17yrs oldAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23687321.post-2859941803657933982007-08-08T09:51:00.000+02:002007-08-08T09:51:00.000+02:00Berchiche is a LB spanish wonderkid he got player ...Berchiche is a LB spanish wonderkid he got player of the tournament for Spurs in the eurofoot competetionAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23687321.post-775967587194749842007-08-08T02:22:00.000+02:002007-08-08T02:22:00.000+02:00what's berchiche all about?position? where from? w...what's berchiche all about?
position? where from? what did he cost?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23687321.post-74948663004506256252007-08-08T01:37:00.000+02:002007-08-08T01:37:00.000+02:00i would love to see some footage...aswell as the o...i would love to see some footage...aswell as the other spurs XI matches because Taarabt has scored in those aswell...plz try and find something...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23687321.post-21223256422799988872007-08-08T00:55:00.000+02:002007-08-08T00:55:00.000+02:00Manager Justin Edinburgh was in bullish mood after...Manager Justin Edinburgh was in bullish mood after Tuesday night's friendly with his former club Spurs, despite seeing his side beaten, two of his players clash onfield and another sent off.

Grays were determined not to be outclassed by a visiting Spurs team with a number of internationals among its rank.

However, early on the pace and class of the men from White Hart Lane caught Grays cold. In the sixth minute Spurs defender Lee Mills was given acres of space at a corner and headed easily into the Grays net.

The next ten minutes were dictated by the Spurs midfield of Tom Huddlestone, debutant Kevin-Prince Boateng and Adel Taarabt.

Slowly though, Grays got back into the game with Ben Watson bustling up front and Charley Hearn in midfield determined to get a foot in and establish a foothold in the game.

They were rewarded in the 22nd minute when, following Hearn's free-kick, a Spurs error in the box opened the door for Watson to nip in and produce a close range equaliser.

Tottenham became increasingly fractious as the half wore on and Grays started to dominate.

However the bad temper wasn't confined to the men in white. Grays had some argy-bargy of their own with an extraordinary bust-up between captain Jamie Stuart and left back Ernie Cooksey.

After the break, in which Stuart was left in the dressing room, Grays continued the momentum with increased fluidity, especially in midfield where Karl Murray proved nearly impossible for Spurs to mark.

Although they didn't carve out any real chances, the crowd of 2,216 were clearly impressed with the team's intent and enthusiasm.

Unfortunately, against the of play, Spurs struck in the 56th minute when Andy Bartrum pounced on a mistake and passed to Boateng who opened his Tottenham account.

Things got worse for Grays in the 56th minute when Murray was given a straight red card for stamping on Huddlestone and nine minutes later Taarabt, who by this time was getting acres of space, capitalised on Grays' generosity when striking a third from outside the box.

This should, like the weather, have opened up the floodgates, but the Grays players stuck to their task and received reward in the 87th minute when a beautiful move involving James Lawson and Danny Kedwell culminated in Aaron O'Connor bundling the ball home.

After the game Grays boss Justin Edinburgh said: "I've taken lots of positive out of this match and all the friendlies.

"I don't like losing but there was enough in this performance against some excellent Spurs players for us to feel ready to face the challenges of the new season."

Goals
Grays: Ben Watson (22), Aaron O'Connor (87)
Spurs: Lee Mills (6), Kevin-Prince Boateng (56), Adel Taarabt (65)

Red Card
Karl Murray (56)

Grays Athletic Starting Lineup
Danny Knowles
Andy Sambrook
Jamie Stuart
Dennis Oli
Craig McAllister
Karl Murray
Charley Hearn
Ben Watson
Ernie Cooksey
Mark Marshall
Jack Haverson

Subs
Jon Ashton -> Jamies Stuart (46)
Adam Gross -> Ernie Cooksey
James Lawson -> Mark Marshall
Danny Kedwell -> Craig McAllister
Aaron O'Connor - > Ben Watson
Jamie Day -> Charley Hearn

Spurs Starting Lineup
Tommy Forecast
Chris Riley
Yuri Berchiche
Tom Huddlestone
Phil Ifil
Lee Mills
Wayne Routledge
Kevin Prince-Boateng
Lee Barnard
Jamie O'Hara
Adel Taarabt

Subs
->
->
->

Report by Michael Casey
Thanks to the Thurrock Gazette for the reportAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23687321.post-46189668237292010992007-08-08T00:45:00.000+02:002007-08-08T00:45:00.000+02:00You got any goal footage?Taraabt's sounds like a g...You got any goal footage?

Taraabt's sounds like a good'en.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23687321.post-2365794104862052222007-08-08T00:39:00.000+02:002007-08-08T00:39:00.000+02:00He has a hard on because he has a Spurs shirt on !...He has a hard on because he has a Spurs shirt on !!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23687321.post-72472236546724495702007-08-08T00:35:00.000+02:002007-08-08T00:35:00.000+02:0010.19 your wish....10.19 your wish....Harry Hotspurhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06022966118295832998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23687321.post-77025941461181371482007-08-08T00:29:00.000+02:002007-08-08T00:29:00.000+02:00I think the guy in the first picture has a hard on...I think the guy in the first picture has a hard on!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23687321.post-5722627078562678162007-08-08T00:19:00.000+02:002007-08-08T00:19:00.000+02:00would be nice if you labelled them. is that burchi...would be nice if you labelled them. is that burchiche in the first 2 and who is the last fella?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23687321.post-60797044173840342182007-08-08T00:13:00.000+02:002007-08-08T00:13:00.000+02:00Sniffing around as we speak ;)Sniffing around as we speak ;)Harry Hotspurhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06022966118295832998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23687321.post-35211504401624401702007-08-08T00:06:00.000+02:002007-08-08T00:06:00.000+02:00great pics matey but no goals footage :(great pics matey but no goals footage :(Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
